  1. I wonder if he'll pick up the vacant number 10 shirt. I seem to remember when he joined he opted against number 9, and preferred a number in the 20's as some superstition. I may, however, be wrong. (My wife tells me I normally am)
  2. The football men doing their job.
  3. Delighted with this. He can bring so much to the club and the squad in so many levels. Getting promoted isn't just about 90 minutes of football a few times a week. It's the prep and mindset day to day. Terry is a born winner who's played with some of the best, and is one of the best defenders of a generation. He can supplement he whole squad, with tit bits on 'this is how Drogba/Costa did it' to Kodjia. This is how Kante did it. This is how I did it. I get the feeling that when Terry talks, players listen. He clearly has the fire in his belly still, as he could have easily picked up a nice pay packet abroad somewhere for a year. Bring it on.
  4. I'd imagine he has gone to Portugal. Amavi has and I'd imagine he's closer to the exit door. The only one who I know hasn't gone is Cissokho!
  5. Saucy sources say JT is Villa bound. Good to see these sources ahead of the curve...
  6. He was pictured with Terry and Alex Bruce while they were doing fitness work in between golfing a few weeks ago. Probably just a goodwill thing from S Bruce.
  7. I'd be intrigued to learn their identities. Positive sign for me that they've bought into Bruce. McCormack definitely struggled for fitness when he came, and never seemed to recover throughout the season. He had Achilles trouble and had no pre season last year, fingers crossed it's different this time round, as his footballing brain can't be denied.
  8. Borini to AC Milan for 5.3m Deulofeu back to Barca... they'll probably sell him in again for a profit after what is probably a buy back clause. Funny they never came back for Adama!
  9. All but confirmed on page 26... it's a sign!!
  10. Avfctransfers also saying Kodjia is well ahead of schedule and hopefully back for preseason it seems.
  11. Even though the crest issue was created in the Lerner era... and the club have said they are working in a resolution now? Ok.
  12. Defoe to Bournemouth on a 3 year deal. Yes that's right... a 3 year deal for 34 year old Jermain Defoe.
  13. What a lovely finish from Bjarnason. A few of those next season please.
  14. That'll be 25m please! If they're in for him we should get a good fee that we're after. Not 25m, but 10m is reasonable.
  15. There you go Mikey, there's quite an exchange between Xia and Matt Scott, with fans chipping in too, quite lengthy, but that's the jist if it above.
  16. Good! At least it's not the British media getting the scoop, as I'm sure they'd find a way of ballsing it up.
  17. With a full pre season I think he'll be a useful asset. He certainly found himself in plenty of goal scoring opportunities, just lacked a bit of composure and luck.
  18. De Boer to Palace is a good move.
  19. He says a lot of good things, and comes with good pedigree. Tom Fox failed because he was a CCO made into a CEO. Organ can focus on what he knows, and it sounds like he's making good progress. As for the 'front of shirt' sponsor, for me it make sense to make the most of possible revenue with adding other sponsors on the shirt, where viable and allowed. We're certainly not above it, we're a Championship club after all!
  20. I was going from this section - https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/06/26/the-big-interview-luke-organ?view=amp The two-year deal with Intuit QuickBooks will conclude later this month and he praised the company’s contribution to the club, revealing importantly that a new main partner – showcased on the front of next season’s shirt – will be announced on July 1. He says this new deal “recognises the size and scale of Aston Villa in terms of the size of the contribution made to the club and the plans for activation.” The new Aston Villa/Under Armour shirt will also be revealed on July 1 with fans able to view the home and away offering. There will then be a one-month pre-sale period with supporters able to receive, collect and buy both kits at the end of July. “I’d like to let fans know the background to kit launch. “As we know, fans are always keen to see the shirt as soon as possible after the end of the season. We’re also keen to reveal as soon as possible to drive our retail position forward. While we’d have liked to launch the shirt earlier, it is always driven by main club partner announcements and kit manufacture timelines. “We didn’t have the front of shirt partner in place when I joined the club, but we have worked extremely hard to get the best deal for the club with very little time. “We have worked hard over Christmas and into the New Year in order to secure the best opportunity and this was delivered in April. However the timing on this has a knock-on effect in terms of manufacturing and application of logos on to thousands of shirts – it’s a time-consuming, manual job. “That has delayed everything, unfortunately. Our focus is very much on kit launch with the front of shirt partner being announced at the same time as our new kit is launched in advance of our first friendly games.
  21. Went up with Huddersfield. Couldn't possibly comment on him as I never paid any attention whatsoever to him or Huddersfield!!
