  1. ......until you chuck them into a bend at 50mph, then the Golf sticks like glue while the A3 loses its back end and tries to flip you over!
  2. I know on 'new' goods if it developed a fault within the timeframe you've had it, the dealer would be allowed one attempt at rectification, then if not resolved, you can request a full refund. I would suspect you might be in the same boat here, but the dealer might have more opportunity to get it 'fixed' before you can reject. Good luck - hope you sort it!
  3. The new consumer act came into force last year, there is some good info here; https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/how-citizens-advice-works/citizens-advice-consumer-work/the-consumer-rights-act-2015/ not sure on the ins and outs of 'used' goods, but I would imagine there is a lot that's potentially applicable. I know it's made quite a bit of difference to faults with 'new goods' and your rights to reject. Have a look - might be worth giving the C.A.B a call too - they are pretty decent on most things. The joys of used cars and used car dealers! I'd rather eat my own arm!
  4. Yup. I said a while back it would be nearly impossible to get any 'truths' from either side and it would come down to the most convincing set of bullshitters. I've given in and will be voting to stay in, for no other reason than I can't listen to anymore of it and 'in' is the devil I know. The thought of Boris, IDS and Gove the Toad leading us into an independent era, doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. Shame, because I wanted to be convinced by the Leave argument. if they had been even half way feasible, I'd probably have voted for them.
  5. The struggle is real. Need more shades of black too.
  6. My A1 is a brilliant little car, but you are right - not as good as a Golf (better than all of VW's other cars though!)
  7. Naaah man that's just good living! I can't believe people only have one or two pairs. That's some third world shizzle right there!! 22 pairs of trainers + the pair I ordered this morning! Shoes, boots and other footwear separate!!
  8. I doubt there's many of us, but I agree if he'd been backed properly at the time, we wouldn't be in this mess now.
  9. Come on Lazio - make RDM an offer he can't refuse!!!!
  10. I thought it was an astonishingly accurate analogy
  11. The middle ground is; We are all chuffed Lerner has gone. We all HOPE this is the dawn of a great new era. We all WANT the doc to be our saviour - a man to take us back to the Prem and beyond. We are all desperate to see it work. What splits people is the detail (or lack of it). People like me might be making too much of certain things, but for people to not have any concerns at all about this deal? Now that's astonishing. There are legitimate concerns all over the show. Anybody denying that is basing their opinion on hope/optimism alone and ignoring the rest.
  12. That's like having 7 terminal illness' but not being concerned about possibly dying! Some would call it positivity, some blind optimism. Nigel Pearson would call you an ostrich!
  13. He is involved. It's his name on the back of the shirt and it was him at the game with Wyness etc. Whether it was just advice or more - he's linked. I really, really hope it works out and its legitimate, but from what I've read it will be a first for a deal involving this chancer.
  14. Neither. My concern is his involvement in the deal in any capacity. I'm only offering my opinion, but he seems a bit 'sub-prime' to me. The kind of guy people without real money go to, to put a deal together. He targets clubs on a low ebb, where there is potential for 'financial improvement'. Nowt wrong with that in isolation, but I've not seen his name linked with any 'backer/investor' who's actually worth anything. I hope the Doc is the exception, that Samuelson is just an advisor in the sale and will soon be **** off, but if he takes a place in the board - we have problems IMO. At the moment, my worry is the Doc isn't actually that wealthy, the club will saddled with debt and our future hinges on quick returns.
  15. Samuelson is a serial wheeler dealer. Reading Everton Bristol Levante Getafe Rangers Mallorca Villa He was 'Involved' in deals to buy or try and buy those clubs. 3 have come off, one of which went Pete tong pretty quickly. Us and Mallorca have only just happened. The rest fell through at various stages, due to either funds not actually being there or the bids being rejected outright. Seems to me that he targets clubs that might be getting a bit desperate in one way or another and none of his 'clients' appear to have any money!!
  16. Hope you are right. There's other bits in the Reading piece as well though that worry me. They were trying to 'help' find another buyer after the Russian went wrong, but wanted written guarantees they would be kept in the board and paid £40k per month for a period of time after. Ask yourself this; If you were a multi millionaire/billionaire and you needed advice or help taking over a football club, would you employ Christopher Samuleson's services, given what you have read about him and his previous record? There's is no evidence I can find that he has ever been involved in a successful takeover/buyout of a club, involving anyone with real money. He appears to be a specialist in failure.
  17. Go and have a read. Google is your friend. Previous takeovers falling through, links to fraud investigations, can't see any evidence of anything he has done involving people with actual cash money. All fronts with no funds. The dodgy Russian Reading deal Failed to produce funds for Everton deal (loads of bullshit excuses) The recent RCD Mallrca takeover (after trying and failing to buy 3 clubs with the same people) My gut tells me that anyone with any real money wouldn't need these individuals involved. They seem to specialise in smoke and mirrors deals.
  18. Personally, I think this going to turn sour. If I were an incredibly wealthy and intelligent individual (rather than just the latter!), I wouldn't employ the services of someone who has been involved in at least two previous 'takeovers' that went wrong. The involvement of Samuleson in any capacity is a massive red flag for me (and should be for the people involved in these 'fitness' tests.) If the good doctor has the cash and business acumen we are being told he does, why is Samuleson involved at all? Samuleson and Banfill are the issue here. Have a look at the recent takeover of RCD Mallorca, another one of their deals. Tried to buy Rangers, Levante and Getafe (all bids rejected for reasons largely unknown), before RCD accepted. It's starting to stink.
  19. Finished the people Vs OJ last night. Brilliant series. Consdiering we already knew the outcome, the verdict episode was a stunning bit of TV.
  20. 100% this. You just can't quantify what need in purely monetary terms. In theory we could build a squad capable of winning the championship and then the Prem for less than £50m. If it's a money is no object job and we can just keep spending until someone gets it right, that's one thing (although with all the FFP crap still in place, you can't even really do that), but if owners are coming in (like Lerner did) to provide initial investment, but look for a growth in revenue in the longer term - decisions are crucial. Money wasn't the issue with Lerner, we could quite easily have been a very successful club right now with the money he invested. He was just incompetent, bat shit crazy and made bad decisions.
  21. Di Matteo? Jesus, when I said Pearson would be a disaster, I never factored in the possibility we might end up with this plonker instead. So Mr Pearson, do you remember all those nasty things I said about you on Villa Talk? Turns out, I didn't mean any of them and I'd love you to become our new manager (or just have RDM killed/kidnapped for us). I know it's all pure speculation, but this for me is why I'm sceptical about owners coming in from developing football nations. They might have loads of money to chuck around, but the lack of knowledge means appointing 'advisors' to make decisions. Appoint bad advisors, end up with RDM as your manager.
  22. I'd add Martinez to that list too. He's under achieved at Everton, no doubt, but he first season was tremendous and I think he's a decent manager. I'd want him to bring in a decent defensive coach though! I agree with your point, it's a big decision becuase we need to weigh the immediate need of getting back up quickly, against the longer term aim of actually being consistently decent and building the club back up on solid foundations. I like the Swansea/Southampton model. Decide generally how you want the team to play and employ people to fit the model. We certainly need to move away from the car crash, flip-flop decisions of the past few years.
  23. Tim said he'll consider coming back in the summer! How very decent of him. I think we should pass, unless we are trying to get to league one as quickly as possible.
  24. I'm not arguing for left or right. In the same post you are saying that the BBC echo the current Government's position, but are also a bunch of lefty, social warriors. It's a bit of a contradiction? This government is not left leaning, so I assume you think the lefty employees of the Beeb are being forced to pedal a conservative message? What the fox New Labour has got to do with it I don't know, but the current lot are centre right at best (at least the public face is). If what your saying is they should shun all political influence and produce independent factual programming (plus, just better programming in general) then I agree.
  25. So they echo the position of a distinctly right wing government, but are a bunch of lefties and social justice warriors? Must be hard for them to square that circle! I agree they could make better programmes, not sure about the rest.
