Second half we were vastly improved and were the best team. Disappointed to lose but definitely see us improving. Nothing like last but too me.

I think it's down to the manager to speak to the player and say that they are looking to bring in younger players, and that they appreciate all that player has done for their country. As a player you should still be available for selection. -

Id imagine someone "releases" a snippet to the press when a deal is close, and the press build speculation off that. If a deal isn't close then nothing may be released. (Btw this is pure speculative from my behalf)
