  1. The German source on this is the same fella last year as the Rashica nonsense. Max Bielefeld I think the guy on sky was. Would be an interesting signing and certainly looks a better player and prospect than Emile Smith Rowe to me, albeit very different players.
  2. Fair points, and certainly the sort of ambition every pro should have, but they're often fleeting moments on the big stage and forgotten quite quickly over a short time. Jack is so good, he will play on the biggest stages with England and if NSWE continue as they've shown so far, he can with Villa too if he stays. The legacy stuff will last far longer. Paul McGrath is absolutely loved at Villa and what a hero he is, but Jack can far surpass that.
  3. Nails it really, he has something money can't buy right now. Imagine his grandkids at the villa walking past his statue, will be filthy rich either way but when he's 40 and his career is finished he can either be a legend or a zinchenko.
  4. Good article here: https://www.football365.com/news/jack-grealish-choose-legacy-trinkets-opinion-aston-villa-manchester-city Jack has one of the rarest opportunities available in his grasp, captaining your boyhood team and creating a legacy vs becoming one of the many forgotten players who've won trophies
  5. I hope this is all sorted soon either way, my productivity levels for work are at an all time low!
  6. He was instrumental for them under the new boss in the second half of the season playing in front of the back four and starting moves from the back, I'd imagine that's where Villa would see him coming in, taking the ball off the back 4 and initiating our attacks, would help with our distribution and keeping the ball better too. Would be a shrewd signing who'd surprise a lot of people. We don't need 11 superstars to be a top side, we need 5/6 exceptional players and the supporting players that work as part of a well oiled machine to let the stars do their thing.
  7. When you have one of the world's best players, unfortunately you'll get the speculation and interest that comes with it. It just shows how far we've progressed over the past 3/4 seasons and no matter what, I'm confident we'll keep pushing on. I still firmly believe Jack will stay, really it's just all a load of noise at the moment and a lot of panic over very little true substantial information.
  8. Sam Lee isn't even respected by the city fans on their forums and his tweet this morning being put down as his usual covering all bases nonsense. Looking at the facts: - Not one respected publication has reported a bid. If there was a release clause, city would have just bid and been done with it. - I've no doubt Jacks agent is speaking with City or whoever, it's his job to get the best deal for Jack(and him) but this will most likely lead to Jack signing a new deal at villa on wages matching one of the best and most sought after players in the PL. - Jack and the clubs social media posts are no fluke either, if you've agreed a deal to move to another club, you keep quiet. I expect Jack to be back at the club next week and a new deal announced within a week. As posted before, if the club was to respond to all newspaper rumours, it would never end.
  9. To be fair most of those items could probably be guessed at, maybe he does have some inside info, either way I'd be surprised if Jack leaves this summer.
  10. Jack is crucial to our immediate ambitions, but our ownership and the transfer fee he would bring would make us a better side in the long run. Jack is the best player I've seen at the villa including McGrath, but irregardless he'll give us another year at least. NSWE didn't buy the club to just make a few quid, Nas is already richer than anyone needs to be and Wes just won the NBA with a previously unfancied team that hasn't done it before.
  11. It is highly unlikely, have you spoken to Smith? I'm out of this thread, but your obsession with us buying Tammy is bordering on insanity.
  12. You think Chelsea are going to sell him at a knock down price? when they're selling youth players like Guehi who've never played in the first team for 20m+. The only realistic thing in this thread is the likelihood that Chelsea would demand near 40m or more for Tammy.
  13. If we can keep progressing the team, McGinn will be reduced to a squad place or even be surplus in a season or two, however for where we are right now he has a role to play and will most likely play 30+ games unless our other midfield options seriously up their game.
  14. If you think the solution is to go out and spend 40m on a backup centre forward because a rag-tag team are losing a pre-season game you're deluded. Other area's of the team are in more need of improvement and how many CL teams spend 40m on backup players, never mind a team building on it's second season in the PL? I don't know why this topic is still open? There have been no credible links to Villa recently, he'll more than likely end up at Arsenal, Spurs or West Ham on loan.
  15. If we have 40m to spend on another one player, I seriously hope it's on either a AM or Wider forward that improves our first 11. Rightly or wrongly we have a 22m backup to Ollie in Wes. Little to no chance we'll be signing Tammy this summer.
  16. I believe we'll make 2 more first 11 quality signings and maybe one more who can provide cover. We finished 11th last season, behind Everton, Leeds, West Ham who I think we'll be stronger than all next season, particularly west ham who have Europe to contend with. Arsenal and Spurs are also as weak as they've ever been in recent times and 2 sides we comfortably beat past season. The buendia signing is huge, a significant upgrade and a new wide forward of similar quality will push us on another level. Whilst our midfield options appear weakest, there's still decent options there and even Liverpool's midfield 3 are a great example of finding an unspectacular midfield 3 that work hard.
  17. We've got: The best Gk in the league (Emi) 2 of the 3 best playmakers/creators in the league (Jack/Buendia) A 20 goal a season capable england international striker (Ollie) A solid back 4 that conceded less than Leicester and a Moyes coached West Ham An ambitious ownership that expect success and no doubt more quality to come in to the team If we're not in the top 8 next season and pushing the top 6, I'd be both disappointed and surprised.
  18. I think we'll see one or two before the season starts pissflaps
  19. I've been a fan and defender of of his generally, strong as an ox with a good touch but that miss in the 2nd half when he didn't get on the end of a Guilbert cross was just another example of how he lacks that natural forwards instinct. I'd loan him out to the championship with a view to trying to get a good fee for him next season. Its disappointing he hasn't really kicked on the last few seasons since that purple patch under Bruce in the champ but for where we are now and where we're aiming to go he's not ready for what we need.
  20. His YouTube videos look better than Tonevs which is a plus
  21. A real modern Pro, has looked after himself and should be able to come in and cover 15-20 games over the season easily. We have a really young team and another old head like that (Similar profile to JT) to cover Center half and we'd be set at the back.
  22. The difficulty with Wes is that he hasn't really shown the raw qualities needed to be a successful PL striker. The layoff will have hurt his chances of success, but the guys obviously a grafter and has worked extremely hard to get where he is today, which counts for a lot. Doesn't look like a footballer to me, however he needs to be given a full season with the coaching team to prove himself and I wouldn't be shocked but pleasantly surprised if against the odds he proves people wrong again.
  23. Brave on the ball, that alone will see him go far. Maybe a season too soon for him, but my instinct is he'll be the one to surprise us most with his impact.
  24. We need to be moving our senior fringe players who are never going to impact the starting 11 on to get players like Carney, JPB and A/J Ramsay onto the bench this season and start making appearances regularly if they're showing their good enough in training. Conor and Guilbert would be the first 2 out for me.
  25. Has a bit of the Kevin De Bruyne style about him, I rarely see us play through balls, we'll catch some high lines out this season. A top class AM/WF and some defensive cover from really pushing the top 6 next season.
