  1. Same, remember him being ace on Fifa10 ( I think ). Tend to find the foreign press have been more reliable in the past so might be something in this
  2. But you're actually right, I really can't think of the last England international we signed in his mid-20's Hmmmmmm Downing was 24 and a current international. Think we have a winner ladies and gents Lower or relegated clubs. Hadn't boro's just got relegated when we took him from them? Sidwell is probably the most resent example. Except Sidwell has never played for England. Downing is the only real one I can think of that's recent
  3. I can't see how this is anything other than positive. We get to add a player with something to prove to our squad ( and we are lacking in numbers in his position ) for minimal risk and with a potential of a permanent deal if it works out well for all parties. If it doesn't go well, then we haven't really lost anything. The Everton's situation doesn't bother me either, of course he'd have preferred to go to a club that are better than us at the moment, are closer to home for him and with a manager who he's previously been successful with. If you were in his shoes I think everyone would have preferred that option. Welcome aboard Tom
  4. Remy is better than Torres so this signing only makes Chelsea stronger. He can also play wide if needed as well. Have to say Chelsea's transfer business in terms of both players in and out has been outstanding this summer IMO, to get the likes of Costa, Remy, Fabregas, Luis and Drogba for a net spend of about £15m whilst also offloading a number of high earners is very canny indeed
  5. Good win, very good first half but bit nervy the last half hour. Defence looked solid again and we passed the ball really well in the first half. Really liked how Grealish just laughed after about the 4th foul but still kept showing for the ball, just wished he'd had a shot instead of laying it off to Delph at the end. Promising start to the season, be interesting to see what happens tomorrow

Unlucky Gabby, difficult chance. Have to say, this is the best I've seen us play at home for a good long while. We look really solid, are keeping the ball and have been clinical as well.
  8. Just seen it, absolutely brilliant technique. On another note, that Aussie fullback that baggies signed got torn to pieces by Dyer yesterday
  9. Let QPR have him and we'll have Diarra instead. Works for me.
  10. Decent point and glad we looked solid again. Any team would miss their 2 main goalscoring threats so I'm not overly concerned. When everyone is back and fit, I think we'll look decent again. Think the defence and midfield seem sorted(ish), just need some clever players further forward who can create and score. 3 points against Hull and that would be a very very good start to the season
  11. Cameron would certainly have his uses in the squad as a utility player as he can play CB, RB or DM and is better than Clark or Herd. Think he wants regular first team football at CB and not sure he'd be worth it for that
  12. Atsu to Everton on loan. Another shrewd signing to go alongside Besic IMO.
  13. If we play 4-3-3, put him on the right hand side on the attacking 3 and let him cut in, it's what he was so good at doing for Wigan yet we have never tried playing him there ?
  14. Has the loan been confirmed ? Not seen it officially reported anywhere ?
  15. Fonte's been quite strongly linked with a move away as well. I actually feel sorry for them. They've been clever in the transfer market and with their youth policy and then they just get absolutely stripped of all their best players. Sure they'll make a mint out of it but it's going to be a huge rebuilding job replacing over half their first team players and no guarantees that the new signings will be a success either. If Schneiderlin and Rodriquez ( who are both very good players ) go as well, I'm definitely having a punt on them going down
  16. Signing Remy and Lambert for less than they've got for Borini is very very good business. I actually think Remy is a bit underrated and his ability to play across the front line and score goals is going to prove quite useful to them. Bastards.
  17. £1.5m would be a steal, even double that would still be a bargain
  18. Wonder what this means for Walcott, seeing as they pretty much play in the same position? Excellent signing although still think they need another proper centre forward alongside Giroud
  19. Not sure if it's been said yet but David Luiz is the most expensive defender ever in the history of the game. Jesus
  20. David Luiz is a bit like me when I play 6 a side and get bored playing at the back, I just decide I want to play up front instead without telling anyone
  21. Unlucky, great run. Higuain has been so much better this game compared to the Switzerland game. Seems to be a lack of urgency from Belgium ?
