  1. I think he's great, such good value
  2. Whilst Messi is stil an absolute genius, I feel that Ronaldo has more facets to his game and is the better player at the mo. He's quicker, stronger, is more 2 footed, is arguably better at long range shooting and he's also one of the best in the world aerially as well, that head against Deportivo would only have been scored by a handful of players in the world. He's rarely injured and never seems to be struggling for form either. He's almost like a prototype for the perfect attacking player!
  3. That's a really good point, no idea why he's not got a shout. Been deadly for Forest so far
  4. Preferred the PES 15 demo to the Fifa 15 demo on ps3 which is the first time that's happened since Pro Evo 6. It might just be me but I really don't think enough has changed with Fifa over the last few years, I still find myself having a feeling of déjà vu when I score similar goals all the time on it. The PES demo felt less scripted than FIFA and more unpredictable which is what I want in a football game. Look forward to seeing it on PS4, will probably convince me to get one when the game is fully released
  5. I've said the exact same thing in conversation, Could easily see them going all season unbeaten. Their starting 11 has a great balance and almost no weaknesses and their squad is phenomenal
  6. Fabregas really is different gravy isn't he. Makes the game look effortless and nearly always picks and executes the right option. What I would give to have a player like him in our team
  7. Watching him play for Spain + looking at his stats over his career (tin hat time) he's maybe not actually that good... Can remember Liverpool trying to sign him last summer before his amazing atletico season and I didn't see the fuss, personally I think he's a great striker IF you set the team up to play to his strengths, atletico did, and now Jose is pushing it further to make him look like an absolute world beater, which he isn't... He'll still smash the scoring chart this season but that's more down to Chelsea than him The ironic thing in the summer was he was completely lost in that Spain team but he'd have been far more suited to the way Brazil played He's one of those players that has got better and more complete with age, a bit like Drogba did
  8. Individually, each of their 6 midfield and forward players cost more than our entire first 11. Course there's going to be a gulf in quality. Still in it though
  9. Jesus, that sounds horrendous. Always wondered why he didn't get more of a look in but this explains it. Hope he's over it now
  10. I've been saying this for years. What an outball to have if Guzan catches the ball. Really don't know why we've never done it. i think most teasm now use their attackers to defend corners if they are generally up for it. We do it with Benteke and you will always find people like Drogba, Rooney and Wellbeck (just to name 3) who always do that too. I think (not 100% sure i've got the right game or player here but it was v recent) it might have been the Notts Forest Game recently where Pearce was talking about their Striker (long and funny soundign name that i'm not going to try to guess or google) who was gettign praise for hs goals and Pearce said that it wasn't just his goals it was his all round play and he was often the first person to be heading danger away from their own box. If Gabby is better in the air than say Westwood or Wiemann then of course he'll be defending corners as will Benteke when he returns. The fact is at those points in the game we are DEFENDING our own goal not attacking the oppositions and that has to be the priority. So given the 1 or 2 in 10 opportunties from an oppostion corner or advanced free kick where we may actually break quickly compared to the 8 or 9 in 10 where we can't I think i'd rather have a solid defense thanks and play the percentages. We're more likely to concede more than we'd score if we changed it around. In my opinion Lambert and the coaching staff are spot on in this. Defend as best you can with your best defensive weapons when your goal is at threat from a set play corner or advanced free kick. It's just basic common sense. If we shipped 3 or 4 goals because Gabby and Benteke weren't defending these plays then I'm pretty sure Lambert wouldn't be heralded for his positive attacking set up he'd be completely lambasted for being stupid and not setting up his team to defend set plays as best it can. Given that pretty much all teams set up that way is probably an indication of what is considered best. Yes gabby defends corners well and I can understand having him (like other strikers back). But for having everyone back causes pressure as the opposition can put more men forward and even when we clear the ball comes straight back at us. Someone like weimann who isn't that strong in the air would be better left half way line for me. That wasn't the point that was being made tho. i agree we don't need 11 players in the box defending and need an outlet. The opposition will normally have one more person to defend with from their own set pieces. The qestion is how many do you choose and who. At the moment, I'd be inclined to say Wiemann would be a good shout to leave upfield as he's not the tallest or best in the air. If that then leaves 2 opposition players back to mark him plus the corner taker, we should have more than enough bodies back. When Benteke is back, we're actually quite a physically tall and strong team so could then maybe push Gabby up instead ?
  11. Hummels at right back? You got no defensive playersOk, 4-3-3 Llorris Piszczeck Kompany Thiago Silva Cole Vidal De Rossi Fabregas Robben Messi Ronaldo Balls. Missed that, swap in Baines for Cole
  12. Hummels at right back? You got no defensive playersOk, 4-3-3 Llorris Piszczeck Kompany Thiago Silva Cole Vidal De Rossi Fabregas Robben Messi Ronaldo
  13. Both full backs are Bayern Munich players. Unless he means Jordi Alba ? Either way, he's left out the 2 players who are clearly the best in the world ( not Ethan Moore and Barry Bannan )
  14. FTW Llorris Hummels Thiago Silva Kompany Cole Vidal Fabregas Robben Messi Ronaldo Falcao
  15. Sensible IMO. The game is done and we don't know how bad the players are affected by the virus. No point in taking an absolute tonking. Think we just need to write this one off as a bad day at the office.
  16. Sanchez is really struggling, missing Westwood's composure
  17. Was interested to see if Assombalonga could make the step up but he's tearing it up at Forest. Looks a really good striker
  18. Technically he is a good footballer and on the ball he is fine but his lack of pace is probably the biggest reason why I don't think he'll be regular premiership player, it's so so important in the modern game for full backs to be quick. His defensive positioning is quite suspect too
  19. Happy with this and he deserves it. Ironically, it looks like Solksjaer looks like he's getting the boot today as well. Funny how things pan out isn't it ?
  20. Does Wilshere do much else other than run down blind alleys and give the ball away ?
  21. Heard about him, I know Norway are pretty poor now but to get into their full national team at 15 is pretty ridiculous really. Will be interested to see how he develops
