  1. You not see the second half on Wednesday? Anyways wait till after the game for comments like that. A decent 30 minutes doesn't make me forget the last 2 years, im not that fickle. Where is Carew? When form can carry on to the next game of course it does. Carew is injured.

  3. Ireland is on the bench with Gabby. Probably not fit enough to start.
  4. Your wish was granted, this is the team How do you know?? Where did you find out... I'm Curtis Davies, it's the only way my username would seem credible  But really it's on the OS
  5. Your wish was granted, this is the team
  6. 1. 1-1 2. Ashley Young with his current form. 3. Jarvis gave us a torrid time last season. Also fearful of Doyle, Fletcher and S-E-B. Good options you have there. 4. I'd say no-one right now as everyone has a clean slate so could be a totally different player under a new manager. 5. Halford, Bent and Stearman. 6. Albrighton, Delfouneso, Clark, Delph and Bannan. 7. Between 6th and 8th. 8. Between 10th and 13th. 9. Positive for both. 10. No, despite Henry has made a few shocking tackles. You're the best tacklers in the league which says it all.
  7. Worked hard but often isolated. Didn't seem comfortable running down the wing, just like for the England U19's when he played there. He's a striker but did his job and got a good assist.
  8. Got stuck in, worked hard and was quality on the ball. Just wasn't involved enough, like most of our midfield. Playing against a big team he put himself about well.
  9. Guzan 8- Commanded his area 90% of time, had safe hands and made one fantastic save from Pedersen, couldn't believe he got a hand to it. Very impressed, big improvement. Lichaj 6- His positioning was poor at times, but he supported well and got better as the game progressed. He does look better every time I see him though. Cuellar 8- Thought he was a rock, some great tackles and was very composed, him and Clark worked well. Clark 8- Another impressive game, timed some challenges well and came out of the defence with the ball which was needed. Warnock 6 Wasn't really troubled imo. NRC 6 Gave the ball away a bit more then usual, as his passing is usually very safe, but generally defended well. Sidwell 6 Half the game he wasn't to be seen, but when he was in the game he made some good tackles and was unlucky with an early shot. Bannan 7 Didn't influence the game much, but when he was on the ball he was superb, his touches and delivery immaculate. Also linked well with Ashley Young. On this showing he deserves much chances when the time is right. A Young 8 Started well, then disappeared then came to life in the second half and Blackburn couldn't cope with him. Unlucky not to get a hatrick. Carew 5 Looked totally off the pace. Gabby 6 Lively while he was on the pitch, we suffered when he went off. Delfouneso 6 Struggled to get into the game, he was on the touchline near me and we just didn't get the ball to him enough, good assist for Ash's goal though. He DID work hard though on the defensive side. Heskey 8 Superb. Just what we needed, totally turned around the game making an excellent run for the goal and his assist was fantastic. They just couldn't deal with his physically. Also nice to see the support he got after his goal. Houllier 7 I think the deep line worked, and we were unlucky to concede as we did. We then had to chase the game and didn't seem to get anywhere. But he made the right sub and within 30 seconds we scored, something we've rarely seen at VP for a while.
  10. I went, nine quid a ticket couldn't refuse. Ground felt empty and it was like watching a reserve game. Couldn't really give the players much motivation but thankfully Heskey woke us all up. After we equalised it was a lot better though and Houllier did an immense wave
  11. Guzan L Young Cuellar Collins Warnock NRC Sidwell A Young Bannan Downing Gabby I'd go with. Cuellar needs a game, don't feel comfortable playing him with Clark though so I'd go with Collins who is our best defender atm imo. NRC is the bite we need in midfield, something needed against Blackburn whilst I think Sidwell deserves a chance under a new manager and this is the best time to try him. With Ireland being a doubt I'd also liked Bannan to come in for him, he deserves it after his reserve performance, would also give positive signs to the kids that if they perform they'll get a chance. Wingers are easy to pick as Albrighton needs a rest. Chose Gabby over Carew as he'd again be more suited. I just hope we win, the paper could have a field day... With a low crowd expected, they'll probably twist it to say we're not in support. If Friedel isn't playing they'll twist that, same with Carew.
  12. I will just pick up on this. Wolfsburg is a very prestigious job, they have a very impressive scouting system built up at the club, they have a fine stadium and are extremely well financed by VW. To say they were stumped as to get is totally wrong. The manager job there is of the most attractive options out there for most managers. Of course following on from Magath you have big shoes to fill, but if they did approach Houllier then it says something about his reputation in Europe. However now they have another excellent manager in McLaren who wasn't short of offers himself. They aren't a big team, but they are a team with massive potential and that is all that matters nowadays.
  13. What is going on right now with Everton? Their fixture list doesn't get any easier soon either, Fulham and SHA away next both with good home records. Then the Merseyside derby at home.
  14. Is that really needed? Maybe he shouldn't have bothered and left us with no-one in charge. Yet for doing the job under difficult circumstances that's the thanks he gets.
  15. The United fans are comparing Bannan to Beckham... Sounds like we are playing great, how is young Collins doing?
  16. How was that a foul, it was the other way FFS
  17. This is worrying, Fuller is the pace they need to get behind our defence.
  18. I bloody hate those throws, you just have to stick everyone on the line.
  19. Bloody ell he nearly threw that in.
