  1. eddie howe has been quoted as not ruling out loans from the saudi clubs too. loans/transfers between clubs owned by the same people need looking at. bournemouth and l'orient are doing the same it's like when you played Championship Manager and made yourself manager of 2 clubs to sell their best players to yourself

    The NSWE Board

why does this surprise you? you seem genuinely shocked and hurt by it all. did you really think the owners were just going to keep pumping money into the club, watch us climb the league, and not make any price increases? we want success. to have success you need to pay for it. otherwise, why do we bother?

    Global Warming

i feel for people who have had children, i really do because this is just going to get worse. the US really aren't going to do anything if the republicans regain power.

    Global Warming

this is the problem. the current government are only concerned with remaining in power and labour are only interested in getting into power. something radical, for example, like the rationing of meat and/or petrol & diesel would cause such outcry that it would damage either party's election prospects...so they're not going to do it it's the one argument i have for a dictatorship system..."this is what's happening, deal with it...our kids will thank us"

    Global Warming

is it so simple as "gary linekar and the guardian says it so i must disagree"? i don't even have kids, and we're not planning on having any...and we still recycle as much as possible and do our shopping at one of those refill shops to name but a couple of things we do. as you say, even if you felt there was a 1% chance of climate change being real, is that not enough for you to take it seriously? especially if you have children
  6. i guess i just don't see the difference to how things operate now. the laws of the land largely are to protect individuals from harm be it physical, financial, mental etc so i would say that the government have set out these laws in order to keep the society that you refer to. people still break these laws, but face punishments as a result. so you say you want a society that has rules but not rulers...who enforces these rules? maybe we're going to go around in circles, as it sounds like you have sufficient faith in humanity that people will just be nice to each other which i fundamentally disagree with you say that we can figure out a system whereby things like driving licenses are possible without a government...taking your specific example of a scuba diving license, i presume that gives you the ability to instruct scuba diving? because i can go and buy myself an oxygen tank, take myself to the beach, and start scuba diving. there's no law that prevents me from doing that. i go back to what i said above, who enforces these regulations if you want to keep things like a driving license? because if it's worth the same as (with resepct) your scuba diving license, then you're still going to get unlicenced drivers on the road you've given a lot of information on here and there's still plenty i'm not understanding so feel free to drop it if you want...maybe i just can't comprehend a society with no government to keep things in check
  7. OK there's something i'm clearly not getting. because it's everyone's responsibility NOW to be good. you and you alone face punishments if you're not. so what's the difference? you say in this hypothetical society you can "do what you want, as long as you do not stop anyone from doing what they want or cause harm". so who enforces that? what about the road speed limit...you're not direcly causing anyone harm by speeding, but acting recklessly that could endanger others...is that ok? on a similar topic, driving licenses are government issued and are in place to ensure you are only allowed on the road once you have proven yourself competent to do so...presumably those are ousted too? so again, people in danger and driving related deaths almost certainly would increase? i'm just trying to understand the difference between your proposed society and the one we have now
  8. fingers crossed you're right and diaby is the exception to the rule i'm 95% sure that he's off to saudi if such an offer is indeed on the table though
  9. key word being IF. plenty of top players have not cut it in the PL and a former team mate of his (bailey) is one of them it's only the top, top players in europe that earn that sort of money. we're talking thelikes of KDB and haaland...i'm sure he backs his ability but he would really need to set the league alight to even be in with a sniff of earning that kind of money if the reports are true, he's taking this offer all day long, as any player would
  10. buying the aging players looking for a final pay day is one thing. buying 24 year olds in their prime though, this is the saudi league stepping it up a gear. it is what it is. i'm sure we have back up targets.
  11. he's in my current draft with the view to switching to nkunku (if he looks OK) from GW4. it's the fact that arsenal have 3 really good opening fixtures
  12. i just got it anyway...might as well! i'm sure i'll find a use for it i also have 2 raffle tickets for a signed copy of fifa 23...wish me luck
  13. it's an interesting concept and one i didn't really know people truely believed in until today. i'm curious about this point: "It is just me trying to live my life in the way I would like to see the world. As opposed to living how a group of people I have never met, of dubious moral character, tells me is the best way to live. " you say you're not arguing for a lawless society but i can't read the above statement as anything but that? your view on the world could be that if someone wrongs you in some way then you have the right to kill them. your view on the world could be that people should have the right to have consentual relationships with a person of any age they desire. those are extremes and im not accusing you of having those views, but in the society you suggest, SOME can (and 100% will) have those views. which i'd say the majority of people would consider those types of actions as being wrong. so how do we stop this sort of thing happening based? what happens to these types of individuals? so yes you're right...we do disagree on the state of humanity. whilst all humans are certainly capable of being good, there are some that simply do not want to be and will hurt others either for monitary gain, or just becuase they're arseholes and they enjoy it.
  14. i've seen a grand total of 10 mins of love island and came to the same conclusion
  15. this doesn't half look like a lawless society to me...you say lets see where this goes, well i can tell you exactly where it would go. the reason being that people have different ways of judging "good choices for their relationships to other humans" i'm actually quite staggered by this concept, because i just don't see how someone feasibly could operate in this way. i despise this current government...i didn't vote for them (but i did vote) and i won't be voting for them in the next election, but i at least acknowledge that a shit government is better than none at all can you elaborate a bit more on how things like healthcare and education would work in your desired model?
  16. i'll be honest, this is the first time i've heard of such a concept, so fogive my ignorance. but how can you not consider yourself to have a government? surely the moment you pay a penny of tax (be it car, council, or buying a product/service) or the moment you use a service provided by the government (i.e. NHS) then that is you giving your consent?

    New York, New York

i do think at least in some places things have relaxed a little. went to florida about 4 years ago and across the whole 2 weeks i think i got ID'd only 2/3 times and i probably had a beer most days. i was 35 and certainly look younger. i think there's a bit more common sense now...it was just me and my mrs so i think they just assumed we must have been over 21
  18. i plan on rewatching at some point...i think it will be just as good the 2nd time
  19. little mermaid available on the high seas now (not pun intended) thought it was cracking...think would've been pretty spectacular in the cinema
  20. this is exactly how i feel. there's really no difference between these so called fake ITKs and talksport saying we're going to sell martinez to chelsea
  21. anyone know which IPTV channel it's on, if any?
  22. this crap winds me up. it's not like forest have been turning down big bids for him and blocking a move. really bugs me when players do stuff like this to force a move. would find it kinda funny now if he ends up staying and as good as he is i'm glad it's not us he's likely ending up at
  23. are you sure about that? zaha is still training at palace for example despite being a free agent. it's our training ground, i assume we can let whoever we like train there. they just can't play matches until they're a fully registered player i don't know...i just can't think of any other reason why he wouldn't be in the squad
  24. when we announced it villa said "subject to international clearance and visa" so guessing that's not yet come through
