  1. According to the BBC gossip, Sunderland are looking at a 7m bid for Carrick. I know this has come up before, but i think it would be a good purchase, especially at 7m. He is also still only 28, so at least 3 good seasons left in him. I think it would pose a really good attack; Milner Stays (Carrick & Ireland in 7m & 9m); --------------Carrick-------------- --------Milner------Ireland------ Young--------------------Downing -------------Agbonlahor--------- Milner Goes (Carrick, Ireland & Bentley in 7m, 9m, 10m); --------------Carick-------------- --------Bentley------Ireland----- Young--------------------Downing -------------Agbonlahor---------
  2. I believe they finished 6th last year, so no. Still, if we want to push on, this is the type of player i think we should be targeting.
  3. First team football promise? I doubt he would get a lot bearing in mind Chelsea have Lampard, Essien, Deco and possibly Bennayoun.
  4. http://tinyurl.com/bid-for-him - Sami Khedira, 12m, i would love this to happen. Attainable and looks very able.
  5. Eljero Elia looks pretty handy, only 23, with the right coaching he could be handy.
  6. The only concern i have with the late business is the fact that if you leave it to the very last minute the players don't get enough time to blend in pre-season. This can lead to a poor start to the season, which may be the difference between a top 4 finish. Plus the longer he leaves it, the higher the price, as the selling club, in most cases, do not have sufficient time to get a replacement. However, if a good deal is done, i would be as happy as anyone, regardless of when it is.
  7. Yeah, i knew i had read somewhere that Fulham were Kappa this year, http://tinyurl.com/fulham-kappa
  8. If it was the Dutch kit template, do you think they would use the same block 'digital clock' type numbers on the back of the shirt?
  9. If we fail to sign a striker this transfer window my faith in MON will decrease considerably.
  10. I hear this is the new kit, it's not photoshopped or fake, i promise
  11. He's 31, he may well come as a back-up striker to carew, he will change it up and as you said better than heskey?
  12. Heskey out for 2m, replaced by Benjani on a free, surely cheaper wages and pick up 2m. But is Benjani better than Heskey, i think he could be.
  13. I don't believe Pre-season has started, has it? Your right it hasn't, but i mean getting transfers in now so they can be involved with the Pre-season when it does start
  14. I really do not understand why MON leaves the signing until after the players are back from their close season break. I understand this year slightly as the WC is taking place, however are the player we would expect to sign even at the WC, especially on Ian Storey-Moores comment to get players with PL experience. Such as Ireland, Bennayoun, Keane etc, they aren't at the WC so surely getting them in for a full pre-season training/ squad bonding would do the team a world of good.
  15. That takes simple to a new level. New Times Roman text on our shirt, might as well say 'advertise here' in a just as bland text :/
  16. As is Wesley Sneijder I am too 5 ft 7, and i think i am also brilliant
  17. How do we know that if we don't lose Milner, Randy will give money to MON so we don't need the 30m from his sale? ... ..let's be honest, the only way Milner will agree to stay is if Randy guarantees we will push on, i.e put more money into the club for new talent to play along side him. However if we agree to sell him, this highlights to me, Randy is looking to get the money to re-pump into the club, i.e he won't spend much more. Therefore if we sell him and we get 30m, this will be our summer pot. The question is can we replace him with the 30m, and get the defensive midfielder, and get the striker we badly need? I am afraid it would look doubtful.
  18. I would put my life on the fact he would contribute more than Heskey. And that he would go down less, even though he is faced with the prospect of a heart attack every other game.
  19. I value the England effort as i support a team which is predominantly English. However, what i hate is seeing teams like Arsenal fans going full salut to the English team when their club is killing some of the best English talent by employing largely foreign players.
  20. At £30m so is MON I don't think it's unrealistic to ask for £30m at all! We're talking about Man City.. the richest team in the prem and one of the richest in the world. We're not going to say to them "Well.. Milner is worth around £17m.. so you can have him for that" are we? The price should go up a couple of million because he's YPOTY, a couple of million because it's Man City, a couple of million because they're a direct rival of ours, a couple of million because he has 2 years on his contract. It's a stupid price but that's modern football. We have to move with the times and, though it's stupid, we shouldn't accept a penny less than £30m. Go up another couple of million because they took Barry for an absolute steal last year. Go up another couple of million because they wear stupid scarves in the middle of April. AND go up another FIVE million because he is ENGLISH. ...so at my bad count that comes to, 31m, plus Ireland
  21. I read all of the '30m is a fair price' and 'yeah 30m would be a good deal'. To be brutally honest it is Man City, if Milner agrees to go, then we should milk them for all the gold in China. Especially if he has a good World Cup, we're in the driving seat and the way i see it, 30m would be good, but its Man City, if they want him, which they do, let's push the boundaries. This will also make it all the more sweeter if he flops next year and is on the subs bench.
  22. I voted end of the road, because although i think MON should still be the manager, i don't think he can take us to a higher league position. Now don't get me wrong i would love us to break the top four, but i don't think MON can do it, especially with the limited funds we understandably have.
  23. Can we get a poll for this of when the first signing will be, I'm feeling lucky this year
  24. Milner for Berbatov, straight swap, then buy Ireland for 7m and Bennayoun for 9m? I think that might just push us further towards top 4?
  25. Because i think his creativity in midfield would be priceless to us, plus looking at his play for liverpool i would hypothesize a good 3 season yet to come out of him. Why wouldn't you pay 9m for him?
