  1. Na, we'll prob have our last 2 league games being meaningless in terms of having a bearing on final position, so rest/rotate players then. Would be an odd scenario facing Millwall on the final day at their place with us confirmed 4th and them needing to draw/win to get 5th. Only for us to go back there the next week in the playoffs.
  2. Surely the whole of the Smethwick End is standing all game anyway, so replacing seats with safe standing makes it much safer. Dont understand the comments re. Dont want to stand all game when they chose to stand there.
  3. But a lot of that 5 point gap is down to Arsenal having their worst season in ages. Arsenal get their stuff together and I'd imagine that next season the gap to 7th will be +10 points. Whenever you talk about things like this, I never fail to realise just how remarkable the Leicester title season was - absolutely incredible.
  4. I agree, but presumably the bulk of this squad wouldn't feature in the Premier League, as we'd likely sign approx. 10 new players? I've said it before on here, but I feel that relatively speaking, the bottom half of the Premier League is the weakest its been. Newcastle now a top half team ffs - Gayle their top scorer with 5 is it? You only need to have a couple of mini winning runs against the other dross and you're likely safe.
  5. Thats always going to happen though isnt it. And why it is very correct to say that all that matters is that we win our games. You cant just have eight teams winning all the time and on 80 points. A load of the top half teams are generally quite poor. I remember us being behind Derby and thinking that theres little chance of us overtaking them. And now 10th placed Fulham of the time are way ahead of them. I just cant believe that we've won one of the last five against bottom half or relegation candidates. So dissapointing.
  6. At my little lads Saturday morning kick about. There are 8 children playing here ages 3 to 6. My lad has his Villa kit on. The other children have PSG, Real Madrid, Juventus and 2 in Barcelona, with two just in plain hoodies. Am i now the odd one making him support Villa? What happens to our local teams years down the line in terms of interest? When i played 25 years ago we were all in Villa, Blues, West Brom etc with a couple in Man U or Liverpool.
  7. Kerry, we all know you love a drink hun, but maybe its time to stop. LOL. LMAO. #justkiddinhun #proseccohoes4life
  8. To be fair, you can do this for just about any sport. Who remembers the time Hourihane used his head to move the ball in to the goal, rather than using his foot?! Absolute carnage it was!
  9. Important to take 9 points off Norwich, Ipswich and Leeds. All teams with nothing to play for.
  10. I think that we'd beat Fulham in the final but not over two legs in the semis. I think we'd beat any of the teams below us over two legs.
  11. Where is the demand coming from for womens domestic football to occupy 4th and 6th spot on BBC Sport headlines? Presumably theres no more than 1000 people in attendance at these games, while there'll likely have been 20,000 at Pompey v Oxford today.
  12. Thats disgusting. Collected the euros ones for my lad two years ago and I'm sure that cost us the best part of £300-400 to complete!
  13. Haha, ye Collymore - given that the scenario wasn't gender specific.
  14. What, our form of the last two, or our form of winning the majority of the last 15 games? Obviously if we dont win another game we'll probably miss out, but that would be Sunderland type form
  15. Remember going up to Bolton without tickets and buying them from their ticket office on the morning of the game. Shame you cant do that anymore. I think it was the year Ashley Young scored from a cross.
  16. And they've had to contend with having shitter players.
  17. I suppose it is slightly cruel, but what are the horses doing alternatively?
  18. Really need to remain third as i think that we would then be playing the likes of Sheff U, Derby, Preston etc, Rather than Fulham or Middlesboro in fourth or fifth.
  19. That's pretty incredible. Although the Man City team that won heavily at Watford didnt feature any British players either. I dont think the English/British club therefore English/British players exists anymore. The only English thing about the top english clubs is that they're based in english cities and generally have fans from that city. Players, managers, owners are from other countries.
  20. Cardiff are just broken. I was convinced that they would fall away in Jan, and then Feb and now in March, but they're just programmed to win right now. Fair play to them.
  21. This is why we love and support you Aston Villa, the highs and the lows. FFS.
  22. I dont think it matters either way. He is going to have to deal with it for the rest of his life. There will be endless gags, songs sung about him etc. I think that it is just as much of a punishment for him to still be in the limelight. I didnt like him before he spat and i dont like him now. He's just an ex footballer who "analyses" a very simple sport.
  23. Great time to be playing these, with them having more or less confirmed their safety with a win over Sunderland yesterday. Hopefully they just see this as a bonus game.
