  1. This was the ITK post - made a week before Gerrard was sacked.
  2. Ok, someone posted a tweet from that guy saying we were about to get Fulham's manager. By the time I'd replied, he'd deleted the post. But I wasn't actually saying that guy was spot on - he's saying Gerrard locked the players in the dressing room then scratched and slapped security when they came in through the ceiling. Why, whenever I post on here, do I feel like I've entered the twilight zone?
  3. Well he was spot on with this: Edit: the post and the associated tweet that I was quoting have now disappeared so my post makes no sense now.
  4. When Bailey was announced as injured last week with a muscle injury, he said he'd be back for the next game and was correct. You wouldn't expect someone to be back so soon after a muscle injury so that stood out to me.
  5. Sorry - I think you added this bit later. Ok, sorry, perhaps I did take it a bit personally but I find people on here always assume people are bull****ers and don't know what they are talking about without ever considering that they might do. To be fair, I do bulls*** sometimes. I don't think Villa even had a dietician when I was there. But Savo and Sasa did tell me that mad fact.
  6. So you must have been there when Savo and Sasa Curcic told us they'd been to see Independence Day at the cinema 4 times.
  7. Yes, I always used to take my armchair into Bodymoor every day when I was a physio at Villa.
  8. I said that tendons degenerate through either age or overuse, so in Hudson Adoi's case, it must have been overuse. Young people can get tendinosis too. And falling arkwardly and over-stretching would not rupture a healthy achilles tendon, but it would rupture a degenerate one. I'm not sure what you mean by he didn't just rupture his - that's exactly what he did. You can rupture it like David Beckham did just planting his foot to the ground, or you can rupture it in a dramatic overstretch. But a rupture is a rupture - a complete tear of the tendon where one end is separated from the other. I don't mean any offence by this but I manage to bite my tongue for months at a time and not say anything when I see people discussing injuries. In occasional moments of weakness, I try to help by offering my expertise, but it's never appreciated. So I'm going to stay out of this now.
  9. Admittedly, it was stupid, but: If his achilles was already ruptured, there isn't much more damage that could be done by stretching it, and If the physio (or doctor I thought) stretching it was enough to rupture it, it would have gone next time he went down the stairs or put his shoes on anyway.
  10. A stress fracture occurs over a period of time when the amount of activity someone is doing is out of proportion to the recovery time - the bone gradually breaks down. Now what is out of proportion depends on the level of activity your bone is used to. A classic example, which you would hope would not happen now, is when players do nothing over the summer and then suddenly do tonnes of running in pre-season - essentially there is a marked and not very gradual increase in the stress on the bone. This is the injury Lucas Digne reportedly has in some unspecified bone in his foot/ankle complex, and is the injury Jack Grealish repeatedly had in his tibia. Carlos ruptured his achilles tendon. Now here's the thing - healthy tendons don't rupture. They have to degenerate first. And they degenerate in 2 main ways: 1. Age, and 2. Just like a stress fracture, over a period of time when the amount of activity someone is doing is out of proportion to the recovery time - the tendon gradually breaks down (tendinosis). I saw an interview with McGinn at the end of pre-season where he said they'd done so much running, they should be called "Aston Villa Harriers" So, if players are coming into the club who are used to doing a certain volume of training and that training is suddenly upped from what they are used to, and continued over several weeks (e.g. pre-season), stress fractures and tendon ruptures could occur. I have looked at the video of Kamara's injury several times and I still can't see what the hell he's done. If he has injured a ligament, this has nothing to do with the training unless he was so fatigued he couldn't even control his legs.
  11. Sorry, I made a comment about Luc Nillis - I got them mixed up.
  12. Did anyone else just see Sophie Ridge call Jeremy Hunt, Jeremy C**** on Sky News?
  13. We've got an option to buy. We've got an option to buy, buy, buy. We've got an option to buy and now I care!
  14. Has anyone had definite confirmation yet that if you sell your season ticket seat via resale and the game gets postponed that you get your season ticket seat back? I'm having trouble believing they'll just take the ticket back off the buyer. I'm asking this because I don't know whether to put my ticket up for sale for Chelsea - thanks.
  15. My wife showed me an email from the hosiptal where she works yesterday that says if you are in the same room as someone with Omicron, there is a 95% risk of infection, and you can be infectious in 6-12 hours, which I still think can't be right. Thinking about all the saliva spraying around at a match with people singing and shouting, I've gone back on my original decision and am chickening out.
  16. I'm wondering if it's a meniscal repair if it's that the length of time out.
  17. From memory, On Villa's list of acceptable prrof, it had a PDF of the pass but not a print-out The only paper version accepted was the letter.
  18. I've had 3 jabs and will wear an FFP2 mask like the last game. I've got past worrying what I look like, but not the amount of condensation that builds up in the mask in this cold weather - it's horrible.
  19. I rang 119 today to ask about this because my dad doesn't have a smart phone and neither do I. The guy I spoke to said the paper letter version doesn't expire like the pass so I'm hoping he's right. He also said he thought Gerrard would do well at Villa after handling the pressure of Rangers. But the email thing is a problem - I don't know how you'd get around that.
  20. I found out today that the domestic Covid passes expire after 2 days so be careful.
