If I want to see good football, I could watch Barcelona games on TV. I watch Villa because I'm emotionally invested in the outcome and want to experience the emotions that entails. VAR has taken all of those emotions away. It's now just another TV programme that gets me no more excited than watching another team's games, or watching Escape to the Chateau. As long as VAR is around in any form, you can't celebrate a goal.

I couldn't celebrate any of the goals. I don't even feel like renewing my season ticket. What's the point of even watching it on TV?

I must admit I thought this was players who were currently fit and available, so discounted Heaton straight away. But even then, I'm not sure if Heaton will be the same after his (I am presuming) ACL reconstruction. And I keep thinking about some of the Nyland saves in the home semi against Leicester and I'm not sure Heaton would have made them.

If the points per game idea has been brought in because relegating a team with a game in-hand would be unfair - because that team might win their game in hand- then this is a flawed solution which is equally unfair for the exact same reason. So anyone who thinks that keeping the table as it stands is unfair, because teams with games in-hand could win them, must accept that the points per game solution is not a solution to that issue.
