  1. I always interpreted this as a result of tactics, that we were set up to mainly attack on the left through that shitty youth player who just left.
  2. It's just made up. Those scores are not science. Also, Traore got a 6 but maybe was only good as far as I remember. I imagine scoring a goal bumped McGinn up a bit. I have to say when I reflect on games, I barely remember much McGinn does. It doesn't help if he was played out of position on Saturday.
  3. Yeah it's this. I'm not sure what was happening with Targett yesterday, but Nakamba having nothing to offer in a progressive sense was one of the glaring problems in our team. He had so much of the ball, but bar one great and surprising run and one basic pass out to the full back he did nothing but slow us down and make a basic pass. When he did try a medium-difficulty pass he messed it up and we faced an immediate counter.
  4. You think this because you've seen him play. I get the impression the ASM naysayers never have! He's great and very exciting to watch and he makes things happen.
  5. You know when you get the impression people lose their heads about imaginary things. Then you see a post like this and you think, 'Yep, there it is.' Disclaimer: although it hasn't happened yet in our one game where they didn't play together, I fully expect they will start together soon. But that's not my point.
  6. I like the positivity but Traore was here last season too! So two both seasons. But yeah, hopefully Buendia steps up. As of yesterday I realised that Traore is my current favourite player. He was great when he came on and he was often pretty great last season too. Grealishtwat was so entertaining to watch, but Traore really was too last season. Hopefully we have another in Bailey.
  7. Gems that are already playing at a higher level than the Prem/Championship? Or are they only gems if they're from a lower level abroad?
  8. But today he was no different to any other game bar the fact he sometimes manages to play like this and also score goals. This is exactly what he's always like in play.
  9. 'These'? It was one game with quite clearly not our intended first 11 out.
  10. Of the four players who played on the wing he looked the best by a bit of a distance. Bailey definitely looked promising too, but Traore is a good player. He put himself about a bit too to get the ball back. I'm a fan.
  11. Yeah he looked good. He looked our best CM and I say that thinking he needed a loan.
  12. Why did he deserve it? Playing well against rubbish pre season opponents clearly doesn't mean much!
  13. Nakamba really hasn't come on leaps and bounds. He's the same very limited player he's always been. He's so woeful on the ball.
  14. George Weah's cousin for Southampton. I think there's a youtube of Redknapp telling the story. EDIT: Yet it was Souness who signed him—I'm clearly misremembering things!
  15. People say he's very beautiful at least.
  16. I'm not sure if I'm getting the comparison as our best starting 3 last year were surely Grealish, Watkins and Traore. And now it's hard to compare as it remains to be seen how we'll line up with two strikers.
  17. Emi has more soul than that other guy!
  18. I would want that myself, but Smith talked down the idea of playing Watkins on the left. There's debate whether that includes 'the left of a narrow front three'. Although his heatmaps put him on the left a lot, I think drifting to the left from a central position is very different to playing and starting on the left. He'd either have to take people on on the outside or drift centrally, and I don't really see either as massive parts of his game.
  19. We've done an 'all the right backs' situation but now with right wingers. Surely Bailey is going to end up on the left. Or if we play a diamond or wingbacks then it doesn't matter.
