  1. The statements in this sentence don't fit together. They've been rammed together. There have been inclusive and well written 'SJW' films and TV shows and books throughout history. Their number are abundant and they span maybe over a hundred years—Dickens, Star Trek, even Gremlins springs to mind. That's three off the cuff examples, but the truth is a huge proportion of stories produced over time could be upsettingly called 'SJ' whatever if you willingly want to frame them that way. The problem is that now being inclusive has been politicised as a wedge issue and some people watch too much YouTube and get upset too easily. But yes, I do agree that Rey is a Mary Sue, and I also think that JJ Abrams ruined both Star Trek and Star Wars. But I've also seen JJ Abrams' other shit films when he wasn't confirming some of the biases you bring up, and they were just as bad. So it's just as easy to blame him for Rey becuase he is a crap filmmaker. I also saw Rhian Johnson's not shit films where sometimes he goes as far as to (presumingly upsettingly) cast non-white people as the main sympathetic character and a load of white people as non-sympathetic characters, and it (Knives Out) was really well written and actually good. Edit: I wanted to add I think there is another huge Mary Sue equivalent in a JJ Abrams film...Tom Cruise in MI3 (gah maybe I'm misremembering, maybe it was 4, so it would be Brad Bird). In whichever film as I remember he recalls a billion digit number perfectly that he memorised in moments. Anyway, bad writing is everywhere.
  2. The only word I assigned to you was 'upset' and you seem upset tbh. You've written at length about a character you've not even seen. You seem to be going off on one about a character in Obi Wan you haven't seen. And you seem to have a problem specifically because she's a black woman. It's weird because if you watched the show you'd realise there's nothing actually wrong with her character with regards to her race or gender—it's fine that she's a black woman in the context of the story, just as there was nothing wrong with Finn being black or Rey being a woman. The problem with Rey and Finn was that they were shitly written characters with no development whatsoever created by a moron in JJ Abrams. A better writer could have done them well. You seem upset (sorry, but the word seems accurate) that there are other characters than Obi Wan in the Obi Wan show. You seem upset that nothing really changed for Obi Wan or Leia or Darth Vader. I watched Obi Wan (really not a very good show) and have to say that it's not very compelling watching these mid-story stories where we already know half the cast survive. The only thing the writers can do in these situations is to add other characters. There were other characters in the same situation in the clone wars. Reva is actually an interesting setup for a character, but she along with the rest of the show was half-baked. She's also not the only new character in the show. But she's a black woman, so it's totally suspect that she's the one you're writing about! Do you realise that she's nowhere near the 'main' character? She's a secondary character completely. She does have an actual (badly written) arc though. Maybe you don't like it when black women have character arcs? Obi Wan has one too btw. And Darth Vader in a way. You seem compelled down the getting 'upset' at SJWs rabbit hole—I thought the terminology had moved on a bit? Shouldn't you be upset at woke people?—I admit, I've moaned myself how in Boba Fett every single village on Tatooine has a perfect blend of inclusive races. It was so distracting because it was obviously Disney. The realism suffered for sure in those moments for me. Honestly, I **** hate Disney Star Wars, but I'm not surprised that Disney, a mega company with a global audience leans towards inclusivity. What do you expect? Why are you so upset? Do you think people should be excluded? From a creative standpoint, for many different reasons Star Wars died when Disney bought it—but it isn't because the show cast a black character. Star Wars should be able to have more than one black character without people getting upset—but unfortunately the abysmal writing has left the door wide open for YouTube videos to seemingly confirm a few more biases and push some buttons even more (not saying that happened to you). Tbh, I'm sure Kathleen Kennedy and Rhian Johnson and JJ Abrams are lame people and I am sure they pushed Star Wars in the Disney-obvious direction. They're also three idiots who were in way over their heads. And just like there are idiots who are 'woke' there are idiots who get upset at 'woke' things too. Ultimately the Disney Star Wars sequel trilogy didn't even try to tell a story because the creative people were over-promoted dicks. There is so much to complain about without obsessing over a global company being inclusive. The thing that surprises me about your posts though is how Reva is actually a legitimate character in the show. She's miles away from Rey. She's not a bad idea at all. But as I say, the show is badly written on the most part so it doesn't matter. And having seen the show there is 0% she is getting a spin off.
  3. So you're upset they have a black female character? Your words. For me the first problem with Disney star wars is the awful writing. You can probably lay all the blame on Kathleen Kennedy really as she failed with Star Wars where Feige succeeded with Marvel. And also Abrams. They did push some unnecessary ideas incongruous with the world (veggie Chewie in TLJ). Rey is an awful character. As with most people in that trilogy nothing was developed properly. But I think you're willfully connecting dots if you think they weakened Luke to make her seem even more 'great'. That was just Rhian Johnson being a clearing in the woods. The underdevelopment is the fault of all the shitty team of chancers who put those lame films together. I hate to point out but the original Star Wars has a very overt anti fascist/imperialist agenda. They were well written on the most part though!
  4. The yellow and white outlines together are really busy. One or the other.
  5. Is it though? If Rangers had won the Europa League would that have tipped the balance a little in favour of the SPL? Of the last five Champions League Finals the finalists have been: England (6—and four different teams in that 6), Spain (2—both Real), France (1—obviously PSG), Germany (1—obviously Bayern). Of the last five Europa League Finals the finalists have been: England (3—all different), Spain (3—all different), Italy, Germany, France and Scotland 1 each. I'm not really saying anything other than what you said doesn't make sense. There's more money in the prem than anywhere else, and that makes a difference. Otherwise we wouldn't be seeing these mega rich clubs dominating everything. The lesser teams throw a lot of money around in England too. And as mentioned, there are a lot of English semi finalists in these competitions too.
  6. We don't work on one transfer at a time and we can have more than one priority.
  7. Agreed. That badge looks awful. I'm fine with the current shield tbh.

    Keinan Davis

It's not a surprise Forest aren't putting all their survival chances in Keinan's hands. It doesn't mean they're not interested in him though. I know you don't rate him—I do, and I'm saying this because it does make sense. He hasn't scored enough in the Prem and they have about £100million to spend to try to stay up.
  9. It's child-level dealing with the cognative dissonance. Zero thinking involved.
  10. Oi you missed Tiverton. (My home town! I'm feeling pleased about it today!) Honiton is right though.
  11. I couldn't disagree more. TLJ is a shit film and not for any of the reasons you've mentioned. It's so bad I can't be bothered going through the multiple reasons I think that film is stupid, off-tone, how it doesn't do any of the characters justice, how half the plot doesn't go anywhere, how it doesn't build on anything and instead just throws its toys out of the pram. There doesn't have to be a 'well you just want Empire again' explanation. I wanted something original—but TLJ is just a pathetic, pretty obnoxious excuse at trying to be original. The other two are also shit. I dislike them all equally but for their own unique reasons. I can't believe those three films managed to do such a huge span of different things terribly. In many ways ROS is the worst one, but then TLJ is in other ways. It's probably more 'competent' in some important ways I guess. At least it slightly appears to be a film, whole TFA and moreso ROS are just stupid theme park rides. There was a better option to what they did with these films: get writers who know how to write to form a new, original trilogy that builds to an actual climax.
  12. Each to their own. I should say thought that Moon Knight is the worst show so far. It's terrible. I couldn't stand it. And Wandavision quickly moves on from its opening premise. The sitcom thing is only really dominant at the very start and it soon becomes pure popcorn cinematic entertainment. I had Jurassic Park vibes at times when watching it. Wandavision, Loki and Hawkeye were as good as any of the films—they're right up there with the best things in the MCU. Falcon and Winter Soldier had its moments, but was ultimately just about average. And yeah Moon Knight I'd rather remove from my memory.
  13. After the first episode, maybe the first two, Wandavision does everything you describe pretty much, but imo better than the films (ok, no cgi armies, but there is cgi fighting). It has more room to breathe. It's better than any Dr Strange film for sure!
  14. That ITK guy I think is genuine myself. He's been right in ways that aren't so easy to explain away.
  15. It's possible to be sympathetic to everyone in this situation.
  16. As there are five subs next season too, players like Traore definitely have a place even if he doesn't start every game.
  17. Yeah that annoying way grown adults make leaps of logic and form strong opinions based on random unrelated bits of information that don't necessarily mean anything. And often to fit preconcieved ideas! Tbh, for me, I think maybe Luiz is just lacking in some qualities needed to boss this level—number one being any real pace. He's a good player and has a lot to offer though.
  18. @messi11 unfortunately you're the definition of the boy who cries wolf with your frequent 'welcome' posts!

    Keinan Davis

I like Keinan a lot, but you can understand a club with plenty of fresh TV money not maybe wanting to put their shot at Prem survival only in his hands. As much for his injuries as Nick says above.
