    Keinan Davis

I’ve rated him for a long time but he looks like he is still improving at a fast rate. Forget his goalscoring record as a 19 year old in a Bruce team, this lad is very capable as a PL level centre forward based on the minutes he has had this season. Maybe he’s more Heskey than Shearer in the goal scoring department but Heskey was top class. If he stays fit the team will be better with him in it.
  2. Wow, just back. Despite Nyland making a couple of world class saves I thought we were the better team tonight and well deserved winners. So many good performances tonight. Keenan Davis can play by the way! This team should not be fighting relegation and I hope this gives us the boost to pull away. We regularly beat northern sides at Wembley. I expect Man City fans are half hoping they lose tomorrow night as they have no chance against the mighty Villa!!!
  3. Maybe training with Reina will teach/develop him more than another 4 months of Scottish football.
  4. We’ve already scored a header in the cup this season but I hope you’re right.
  5. The thing is he is not really a youth player now. He is around the same age as Douglas Luiz, Keenan Davis and Konsa. Much older than Vassilev. If he was good enough he’d be kept in our squad, a regular at a League one club and under contract after the summer. He is none of these things. Playing well in the 2nd tier U23 league doesn’t really equate to first team potential.
  6. I can’t see that, it’s just good management giving credit publicly to the players that have filled in well in the circumstances. I’m 100% sure our 2 forwards will both play a part (assuming they are fit).
  7. Good point, although I guess they hadn’t been to a cup final before, unlike our annual Wembley trips. Any defeat to oil Man City has an asterisk next to it anyway. They have had bad days this season, hopefully another in March or even on Wednesday.
  8. I’m not sure we agreed to this. The reports in the previous days were that we were refusing to recall him and Stoke were looking to do a sub loan to get rid. Could make them slightly worse or slightly better. I haven’t watched them play since we beat them last season.
  9. Are you questioning my credentials of reporting what Villareport has reported someone has reported?
  10. Villa report are reporting that someone else has reported that we’ve bid 5m euros for Daniel Sturridge.
  11. I think Hogan is the exception to the rule that players are rated more highly when they are not in the team.
  12. Bannan and Albrighton had around 160 odd appearances between them for us as a Premier League team by around the same age that O’Hare is now. Albrighton was Lambert’s mistake but both of those players were many levels above O’Hare.
  13. I know, you’d have hoped he would have achieved more for you than that but we are a massive scalp for Brentford so fair enough.
  14. That’s not exactly what I’m saying but if he was on a trajectory that indicated he could be a good PL player then I think by now he could hold down a regular starting position in a league one team. Like I said, there is a lot of hype about him for little justification, we were not even playing in the top U23 division when he was getting hyped up. I’m not saying he is a bad player at all but we can’t give contracts out to 22 year olds whose level is league one. That would be insane.
  15. Maybe he’s not as good as all the hype, which I’ve never understood too. If he was anywhere near good enough to play for us in the PL, at 21 approaching 22 he wouldn’t be on loan to a league one club. I would expect he doesn’t get a new contract. It’ll be like Gary Gardner’s unwarranted contract extensions just in case he turns into a player. Same with RHM, battled to get him to sign a new contract but no where near a PL player. If he wasn’t our player and was available on a free, I doubt very much we would be interested in buying a league one squad player.
  16. That’s a bit unrealistic mate, I can’t see Man U scoring.
  17. Given their fixtures and current form, I think they will finish in the bottom 2. It’ll take a huge turnaround to get them out of trouble.
  18. Wasn’t Oscar Borg a left back released from West Ham? I don’t think this is the same as signing a player who is considered perhaps the best current young English prospect that Barca, PSG, Man U, Liverpool etc were courting, who was scoring 2 a game for England’s youth team in an international tournament. Who knows how he will develop but I think it’s ok to be optimistic about this lad.
  19. Rodgers said they don’t have a recall clause, unless there’s a sub clause that they can if recall to sell I suppose.
  20. Good question. They should invent some kind of shooting competition if that’s drawn. Although, if they draw that as well, no idea.
  21. Goal difference is used. The head to head only replaces the theoretical play off games that never happen (astronomical odds) of teams can’t be separated by points, goal difference and then goal scored. The Premier League headline wording on this is a bit misleading though, so can understand why some people think this.
  22. Lol! Yes, you clearly misunderstand. Perhaps I’ll make up opinions you hold based on nothing? I’m not anti Bruce at all. I wanted him to be our manager. He did well until his ‘3rd’ season. I didn’t call for him to be sacked but agreed with the board his time was up. I wish him well but it’s clear that Newcastle have had a lot of luck getting to the points tally they have. They have also played mainly very poor football, which some Newcastle supporting work friends agree with me about. If this is not clear enough for you then try reading it slowly.
  23. I don’t think you understand the point I was making.. Anyone who doesn’t think they have had a lot luck with results either hasn’t watched them or doesn't understand football or sport in general.
  24. I expect he’s in a boot for 6 weeks as that’s the usual healing time. He’s done nearly 5 weeks now. Once a bone has fully fused it doesn’t need more time for the bone itself, so it’s then building up slowly to full weight bearing. If it’s healed well he should be playing again by early March.
