I’m encouraged by Samatta but I prefer Davis. We are always a lot better as a team with Davis on the pitch as the ball sticks upfront and doesn’t keep coming back putting the defence under pressure. As for a 8.5m signing, Davis will be worth way more than that when under a new contract. I’d like to see the 2 of them up front.

He is a real player. He stays fit we stay up. Don't tell me his goal record as a 19 year old. Keinan will score goals and help the team get results as long as he stays fit. Unless we play 2 up top, Keinan should start over Samatta, assuming he is fit enough to play 90 now.
  3. I think the Premier League thread covers this subject well enough.
  4. Flat after the semi. Half expected it to be the case. However, how getting punched in the eye and then barged over in the box aren’t 2 penalties I’ll never know. At least results went for us for once. Expecting us to hammer an unmotivated Spurs at home in 2 weeks.
  5. I think that stat is a little misleading as we’ve played most of those top 11 away so far, which is reflected in the points haul and we’ve been generally good at home. Our 3rd hardest away game left is Southampton based on league position, who also happen to be bottom of the home table.. I see our remaining fixtures are more favourable that the first half of the season.
  6. I’ve never heard of this Swansea striker but sounds like a smart move. Should be cheap as nearly out of contract. He’s effectively 3rd choice so hopefully won’t be needed but gives us much needed cover for Samatta and Davis. Not sure we could realistically do much better this month.
  7. For now they are untouchable. If they lose interest like Lerner that could change but at present we couldn’t wish for any better.
  8. Not sure if you’re serious? Owners saved us from the brink, invested as much as they could and we’re 16th and in a cup final. You should be on your knees thanking them.
  9. He’s fit. Smith confirmed only the long term injured players are out.
  10. It was yesterday. He said we might buy, might sell and might do nothing.
  11. He also announced we’d signed Jack Butland in the summer.. He announces things as ‘done’ when legitimate sources are stating deals close etc so he can hopefully soon claim his ITK status to the gullible.
  12. Earlier in this thread I said I didn’t want to write Jota off just yet but it looks as though Smith has. Probably for the best if he moves on. We need to move on some of the dead wood. He is so far the pecking order he isn’t going to contribute in the 15 games we have left. I’ll always remember him fondly for helping us dispose with Gary Gardner though.
  13. Looked like neither Manchester club wanted to win it, scared of playing us at Wembley I expect. First time for many years I’ve been hoping for a Liverpool win. West Ham sliding further into the mire.

I wonder what your eyes and stats thought of Grealish as a 19 year old because 19 year olds rarely improve..

Not really, he’s shown plenty. You’re just ignoring what is clear with the eyes to focus on pure stats. Again, he has only had one run in the team to date and that was as a 19 year old.. I really don’t understand why you are judging him on his record as a teenager as he’s hardly featured since. If you like stats he had 4 successful dribbles last night in his 20 minutes, which was twice as many as any other player on the pitch.

Why doesn’t anyone realise he was only 19 when he had a run of games in a Bruce team that was fairly defensively minded. He also played very well and we scored more goals as a team. You can’t judge someone on their goalscoring record based solely on their first run in the team as a teenager! And yes, he could definitely score in Scotland.
  17. Sorry but there is no way that Mings should be shunted to left side of 3 to make way for Engels. Mings is playing very well controlling the defence from the centre. There is also no way he should be in for Hause, who is an absolute giant for us in the air. He is also behind Konsa for ability on the ball. No conspiracy. Club captain on bench seems reasonable. I think Engels is a decent enough player but I hope he stays on the fringe as this means we are continuing to get results without him in the team.
  18. Even mid chant the crowd volume suddenly drops off massively on the tv. Probably someone on Sky scared a naughty word might be audible.
  19. I saw a comment (Kiwi I think) saying Samatta only had about as many touches as Davis despite being on the pitch for twice as long. Watching the match back, the commentator says that it took Vardy about 20 minutes to have his first touch last night. I guess that’s the trade off for a striker playing on the shoulder of the defence rather than looking to get involved in the link up play. Maybe a bit like a far superior version of Hogan..
  20. Yes, with Luiz and Nakamba both finding form, we’ll have serious competition for places when McGinn is fit. Although it’ll take a change of formation to fit them all in.
  21. I was hoping for a Dean Saunders style debut but still very encouraging. He should’ve buried that chance on the hour but he was sprinting into the box at every given opportunity and he’ll score goals. Link up play was good too, although David excels here. Good to have proper competition. Based on last night both Samatta and Davis will improve us massively. Interesting to see what other forward we are bringing in this month, as I’m pretty confident with these 2 if they stay fit.
  22. I was at the game and have watched it back on TV since. I think it’s clear that the crowd volume was turned down on the TV. When watching it back this seems very obvious as various mics are lowered or switched off. Poor from Sky.
  23. Mate, please delete that bit.
  24. I agree but you can’t get on the pitch at Wembley so we had to do it now.
