  1. Positive me: Great news, 30m PL winning player signing on a no risk loan! Unbelievable deal. Negative me: Oh no, another Ross MacCormack..Terrible deal, what is Smith thinking?! I’m going with the middle ground for now.
  2. I don’t think Giroud is cup tied for the league cup, so that may add an extra incentive to get him to sign.
  3. I’m not expecting any activity until the last day or 2 of the window. If we can do an early deal that will be a huge bonus but that’s not the norm in January. Any money should go on a striker/wide player, unless we somehow manage to get a quality forward on loan. I guess it will be tricky until we know which one of the 4 rumoured Chelsea players we are allegedly loaning. My expectations are more Richard Dawkins than Darren Bent in this window..
  4. Assuming we persevere with 3 at the back, he could be an option (more likely from the bench) playing in one of the roles just behind the striker, such as Jack and Trezeguet played against Burnley. As I can’t see him making an impact in the PL on the wing. He should be suited to the more advanced inside role. A lot of his highlights I saw when he played for Brentford he seemed to be more central than out wide. Although he may need our injury crisis to get worse before he gets his next chance..
  5. We will 100% go full strength and so will Leicester given their selection for the their FA cup game today too.
  6. He will never be a player that can dominate in the middle of the park. Great left foot in advanced areas but not really any other PL level attributes. I don’t think Connor, Nakamba, Lansbury, Jota are necessarily poor players individually as such but put them all in the same 11 then they and we will struggle against anyone half decent without Jack, McGinn etc creating space for them.
  7. I’d love to see us win the FA Cup but I’m not even slightly bothered with the semi final coming up and our current injury issues. Flat performance with generally our reserves/fringe players against a few of Fulham’s first choice players. Nyland had no chance with either goal and did as well as he could. Good to see Chester play 90. We’ll win FA Cup in 2021 instead.

    Keinan Davis

I think it’s extremely unfair to reference his goalscoring record as a 19 year old in a Bruce team, as that was the only run of games he has had in his senior career. Also that run coincided with us scoring more goals as a team and his general play was very good. Clearly we can’t rely on him alone, particularly due to his poor injury record but I do believe he will prove to be a very good player. Play him in a side that creates regular chances and there is no reason he can’t score.
  9. That guy is an obvious fake that was outed a long time ago. In fact you can safely assume all ‘football agents’ on twitter are fakes.
  10. We’ve reached the League Cup semis using our reserves. No reason we can’t progress in the FA cup with similar line up’s, subject to a bit of luck with the draw if we get through this round. Fulham could do without this competition as they are going for promotion. I think our reserves will be better than theirs.
  11. Sorry to disappoint you but Purslow has already commented that we did not breach EFL profit and sustainability rules.
  12. Maybe if Leicester best us to Bowen, assuming their interest is genuine, that could free up Albrighton?
  13. I hope that is the case but that account has 11 followers (even less than me..) so I wouldn’t take that seriously.

Unfortunately still having hamstring issues. Doesn’t sound good at all for a return in the near future.

    Keinan Davis

I rate him a lot and think he could be a real asset. You may be right but I’m not sure we can really judge his belief/confidence from afar, especially as he was only 19 when he had his extended run in the first team.

    Tom Heaton

Sorry I missed the joke! Probably fooled by the Rainier Wolfcastle style delivery.. Perhaps he’s good at heading in training.

    Tom Heaton

They would be mental to loan him out to a relegation rival, unless they think that’ll make us worse..

    Tom Heaton

Let’s hope for unexpected good news on Heaton but to be fair Nyland’s form improved pre his injury and he has looked good since, albeit in brief cameos. I’m comfortable with Nyland stepping in. Getting a quality replacement in January will be very tough. Can we really do any better than our current 2 internationals in Nyland and Kalinic? Although Jack Butland has been doing a fantastic job of lowering his value lately!
  19. I expect you won’t be far off, although I would play Nyland as he needs games.
  20. I’m sure you’re right. I’m looking at these potential recalls as squad fillers for our FA Cup game/games and bench warmers to give very short term cover, that’s all. We clearly need to buy someone but we all know it’s extremely difficult to do that in January and especially early in the window. Clubs won’t sell assets until they have replacements and players hold out for bigger/better deals. In fact the only players who could move early in this window would be ones clubs are desperate to get rid of, such as Scott Hogan..

    Keinan Davis

The word was he was in full training prior to Burnley and could feature. I’m hoping his absence was a precaution and not due to another set back.
  22. I guess maybe Smith could look to recall Hepburn-Murphy ahead of Hogan to ease our short term desperation and then loan him back to Tranmere.
  23. Yes but his English is improving. When Wesley scored you could lip read Luiz saying “about ******* time”.
  24. Obviously agree a new striker is needed ASAP but it’s not easy to sign quality in January and even harder to do this at the start of the window. I’m not calling to recall Hogan for any other reason than short term desperation. He may be needed to play in 2 FA Cup ties in January and I’d rather not risk Davis in these, other than to build fitness. If Smith thinks we have U23’s that are better than Hogan then that’s fine. That Archer looked decent away at Crewe.
  25. It would seem unlikely that we’ll be able to get a forward early in the window, with Davis still not fit enough to make yesterday’s squad I think we have to recall Hogan. Otherwise it could just be Kodjia until Feb.. I’m really clutching at straws here but maybe in the new system and with Jack and Trezeguet getting close to support like yesterday maybe he might look better. Granted he has struggled for a long time and his last few managers don’t seem to rate him either.. If we get a forward at the end of the window and Hogan has to sit out the rest of the season then so be it, as he’s basically doing this at Stoke anyway.
