  1. Stats look really good to me. Has 6 assists in only 14 games this season despite being a cm. His creation stats are just really good all round. Decent defensively. A monster in the air. A lot to like. Only weakness so far is his finishing. If he had finished according to his xG, he’d have 3 goals to his name. 3 goals and 6 assists in 14 games is a very good offensive return for a CM. I’m generally just impressed at how high his stats all round. Its not that rare to find a CM with high offensive stats, but they tend to sacrifice other aspects of their game. This guy’s stats are surprisingly well rounded. I think he’s worth the money if we can attract him tbh. Maybe a bit overpriced but its not everyday we can attract a player with such a good stat profile so maybe its worth it.
  2. He didn’t even score or assist in the world cup.
  3. At the rate his going this season he’d struggle to score much more than 5 goals this season. We’re almost half way through the season and he only has 2 goals to his name.
  4. I expected him to be shit. He was indeed shit. (Just a joke don’t take it seriously)
  5. He’s probably worth a punt if we can really get him on the cheap. But I also saw him being linked with Arsenal and United, so not sure if he’s a realistic target. Terrible start to this season for him too so not sure about going all out to attract him.
  6. I noticed something whilst going through Buendia's stats on fbref. Its often stated how high Buendia's creation numbers were back in his first season in the PL with Norwich, rivaling the likes of Grealish and KDB. And whilst yes his SCA(Shot-Creation actions) were very high that season, it wasn't just from open play. The PassLive column shows how many shots were created by Buendia from passes in open play. The PassDead column shows how many shots were created from passes in deadball situations. Whilst both categories show a drop off, over the seasons, its the PassDead column that shows by far the biggest drop off. The question is, why? This also suggests that Buendia's ability to create in open play has not actually diminished that much since he joined us. Last season, he was only creating 10 percent less in open play than he was with Norwich in the PL. This season, its 20 percent less. Whilst that is concerning, the bigger issue to unlocking his full potential is to find out why he isn't creating as much in dead ball situations anymore. Because if its simply a case of he was literally on every dead ball situation whilst he was at Norwich, that's not exactly something we can improve on here. Putting him on every deadball situation might help his own creation numbers, but doesn't necessarily help the team;s. Edit: I probably should've included this in the original post too. But yeah, you can see the stats here. The Dead column shows the amount of dead-ball ball passes he took per 90. You can already see the big drop off here but just looking at dead ball situations might mask the true extent of the drop off as dead ball passes can include all sorts of situations. I kept the free kick and corner kick columns because they're the deadball situation where you would expect a chance to be created from. As you can see, he took an even bigger hit in these columns. He was averaging 4 corners taken per game. This season, he's averaging 1 corner every 2 games. No wonder his dead ball creation numbers have dropped so much.
  7. Its actually worse than that, for both, This season, Ollie is average 1 goal every 14 shots. Tammy's is 1 every 11 shots. The average in the PL is 1 goal ever 7 shots.
  8. some of these guys are just late bloomers. They end up breaking on to the scene too late and don’t get their big move soon enough. Before they know it, they’re now in their late 20s and too old for a club in the top 5 leagues to gamble on.That doesn’t mean they’re necessarily bad players though. Whenever I look through the top performers in a league, its actually not hard to come across players who are putting in incredible stats that sometimes rival the well known players in the same league. The only issue is that they’re old, never got their big break, so no one knows about them. This could be a market we could take advantage of.
  9. Mcginn starting to look like Hourihane now.
  10. Danjuma looks like he’s had a pretty terrible start to the league this season though. Only 1 non-penalty goal and 0 assists in 9 games. He was linked to west ham at 40 million this summer. I’d say there’s probably better uses of that money. have to say, I haven’t been too happy with the players we’ve been linked too so far. They don’t seem to be “smart” deals per se.
  11. I don’t think anyone knows. I don’t think it was impossible to get him if we really tried though. He was being linked at less than 15m to us, it was not a lot of money at the time.
  12. If you said this 1 year ago, Atleti fans would be arguing with you and insisting that he has lived up to or is well on the way to living up to that fee. Funny how that narrative changed so quickly once he decided to force himself out. To be clear, I'm not saying whether he is or isn't that good. Just pointing out how the opinions of Atleti fans have clearly shifted since.
  13. The argument was finally about to die down and you just relit the flames. why would you do this?
  14. He’s probably worth a punt. But his stat profile suggests he’s more of a poacher type, relying mostly on his finishing and doesn’t involve himself in the game otherwise. For example, he has less open play touches per 90 than any other striker in ligue 1 this season.
  15. I think he just means that he has no idea who we are and would prefer a club he’s actually heard of.
  16. If he comes here, he’ll most likely play striker. I think he’s played there for most of his time at Atletico anyway.
  17. Take him. Wouldn’t have said this last summer, but he’s been quietly having a very good world cup and on a free, could certainly do worse. His stats in Serie A have improved considerably too.
  18. Atletico want to keep him, he’s the one who wants to leave them.
  19. He's not a world class player, not yet at least, but he's good enough, young enough and a big enough name that pretty much every club in the world will be happy to have him.
  20. You wanna know how he got his scars?
  21. Ah, I missed that. That's still only 2 saves he's made the entire tournament and whilst both were good saves I wouldn't consider either "standout saves of the entire tournament".
  22. It usually counts somewhere around 0.75-0.8xG per penalty.
  23. I don’t know if this has been mentioned before, but Emi hasn’t actually been that good throughout this tournament beyond the penalties. In fact, he’s only made a single save the entire tournament beyond the pens. He’s saving percentage is 16.7 percent, by far the worst of any keeper this tournament. edit: Also just noticed that he also has the worst launching accuracy of any keeper this tournament at 18.6 percent. I don’t think we’ll have to worry about a top club putting a bid in for him anytime soon.
  24. KKH is currently struggling to make the squad for a team at the bottom of the championship. Would be a massive jump from him to go from there to Cash’s understusy next season.
  25. Only 3 of those appereances were starts though. He also has a goal and another 2 assists in the europa league for them despite only starting one match. So 4 goals and 2 assists total in only 4 starts the whole season. Odd that he's been coming off the bench so much though.
