  1. I was comparing his stats with us to his final pl season with norwich to see what has changed. For the most part, his stats haven't changed too much. What did stuck out to me however was how high his dribbling stats were with Norwich. He completed almost 3 times more dribbles per 90 with Norwich compared to with us and he did with a much higher dribbling success percentage to boot.
  2. For some reason, we tend to concede a lot more goals when Buendia is on the pitch compared to when he isn't. This season we've conceded at a rate of 1.86 goals per 90 minutes when he is on the pitch. This is a higher rate than any of our players You could very much argue that's just a result of a small sample size this season so far but I actually noticed something similar happening last season too. We conceded at a rate of 1.52 goals per 90 last season with him on the pitch. Coutinho's corresponding numbers meanwhile are much lower at 1.15 goals conceded per 90 last season and 0.71 goals conceded per 90 this season. Another argument you could make is that perhaps this stat is being skewed because Buendia is being brought on late in order to chase games and hence we tend to be more open and concede more during this time as well. However, one would also expect us to be scoring more during this period if this were true. But we haven't actually. Our team's scoring numbers with Buendia and Coutinho on the pitch were identical last season. And our scoring numbers with Buendia this season has actually been lower compared to with Coutinho. I don't think Gerrard is blind to this. In fact, I this is the main reason he hasn't been playing more, something with how he plays threatens the defensive stability of our system. Edit: I can extend the analysis to take into account expected goals instead of actual goals. We might be interested in such an analysis because it might help reduce the effect of luck. 21-22 season Coutinho-1.25xG scored per 90 when he's on the pitch. 1.14xG conceded per 90 when he's on the pitch Buendia-1.13xG scored per 90 when he's on the pitch. 1.32 xG conceded per 90 when he's on the pitch. This suggests our team both created more and conceded less chances with Coutinho compared to Buendia. 22-23 season I stress again that the sample sizes are very small so far so the absolute values tend to be more extreme if not outright unreliable. What's more important here is to see if the trends from last season have continued to this season. Coutinho-0.79xG scored per 90 when he's on the pitch. 0.63xG conceded per 90 when he's on the pitch Buendia-0.91xG scored per 90 when he's on the pitch. 1.56xG conceded per 90 when he's on the pitch. This suggests that this season so far we have been creating more with Buendia compared to Coutinho. But we've also been conceding chances far more with Buendia compared to Coutinho. So the trend as toward chance creation has actually reversed so far, but our defensive fragility with Buendia over Coutinho has continued from last season which provides more evidence that this might be something systematic with him rather than other factors.
  3. Stevie G is not my manager, He's just a fraud who claims that he is the one
  4. Until whenever they start playing well again.
  5. I mean, he only has one proper good season in the prem so you tell me.
  6. Has someone created a Stevie G parody to Billie Jean?
  7. They only have 1 point more than us and have not won a match in nearly 2 months.
  8. As more evidence here's some pictures of him standing next to el Ghazi(6'2) In no universe is he only an inch shorter than el ghazi,
  9. Don't think he us 6ft. 5ft 10 is probably more accurate. Just had a look at some pictures. He's about Young(5'9) and Mcginn's(5'10) height. Looks shorter than Konsa(6). There's quite a few pictures of Mcginn in Cash together in particular due to them being on international duty against each other and Cash does not look taller than Mcginn in even a single one these pictures.
  10. Breaking news, Steven Gerrard was seen with Adolf Hitler.
  11. Steven Gerrard also ate my cat
  12. I doubt we'll continue to play like that anyway. Its like back in our first season back in the PL after the covid lockdown. What we were doing wasn't working so we changed our style and became much more defensively solid at the cost of our attack. And we survived relegation because of it. But we didn't continue to play like that did we? I swear people are way too hysterical about it. People are acting like that's how we've been playing all this time and will continue to play forever when its literally just been 2 matches. Hell 1 of them was against Man City so its not like we had a choice there. Its almost like people can't complain about the result so they've switched to attacking the style of play.
  13. Its misleading because its including his time with Barcelona last season to which his creation numbers were very low. So much so that I actually predicted Coutinho would be much more of a goalscorer than creator for us. His xA numbers only with us are much higher at 0.19 or 0.23 depending on the sources I checked.
  14. Meanwhile, his xA per 90 this season is 0.05.
  15. Instead of talking about how many caps a player has which can be misleading for all sorts of reasons, we should start talking about what other players they're competing with for that national team position.
  16. I honestly don't think he'll be a big loss for us. I don't think he's been better than Luiz and Luiz can cover for his role just fine.
  17. Smith played him in the middle at least as much as he did on the right
  18. We didn't register him because we're trying to force him out. We want him to accept a release from his contract, preferably without having him to pay his entire wages. Its the most reasonable explanation as to what happened imo. We probably tried to get him a move but it wouldn't happen for him for whatever reason. Now that he won't get a move, we're trying to force him to quit.
  19. Yeah don't see Poch considering us. There's probably only about 10 clubs in the world that could attract him and we're not one of them
  20. Not sure why Frank would accept. They're projected to make a lot of losses meaning he won't have much money to shape the squad to his liking. And its not like it seems he's reached ceiling with Brentford yet.
  21. My point was that its a single potentially very low probability event that's massivelty affecting his averages. Considering the tiny sample sizes, you cannot take any conclusion away from those stats. Also why are we looking at xG here in the first place? Surely we should be looking at xA here considering both are supposed to be creators.
