its bigger than that, we prob need a DC in the summer, but i also think a lot of the problems our defence has been having, are very much down to our poor midfield not offering adequate protection.

If they can keep Rashica, Sargent, Tzolis, Placheta & Pukki etc next season, they should walk the championship (or at least have a very good of a top 2), and come straight back up for the third time..... I hate Burnely, Leeds...and dislike Everton, but i quite like Norwich, a very well run club overall, in terms of living within their means etc. I mean...think about it, 2 promotions in recent years, not quite enough to stay up, but in the last 5 years there net spend is MINUS 45 million. 2 promotions in the last 5 years, with a net spend of minus 45m, thats impressive.

i reckon Gerrard & Coutinho have conspired to ensure his form drops off towards the end of the season, clearly to help our bargaining position with Barcelona, in terms of getting him for a reduced fee......

4 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss for Burnley in their last 6 games. They are fighting for their life. I really hope we arent expecting this one to be a walk over.

i think, best case scenario for Everton would be beating Watford, Palace & Brentford, losing to Chelsea, Leicester, Arsenal. So 9 points, best case scenario, taking them to 38 points. So Leeds & Burnley need 2 wins in their last 4 to be safe, 100% i think, on 39 points. I admit though, that the safety line will probably be lower than 39.

Bailey clearly has talent, of that i have no doubt. Whether his continued absences, his fear of the injury recurring so he isnt being as explosive as he can be, ring rust, fitness, or anything else going on, he clearly isnt anywhere near the top of his game. Whether he will ever get to the top of his game with us, i dont know, but there is no doubting the lad has ability at a base level. I suppose we will see one way or the other next season, depending on whether he is still with us or not.

so i assume, Forest could best Bournemouth, but still not make top 2 if the GD swung against them? (if Bournemouth win all other games).

to be brutally honest, im almost starting to worry that Gerrard does see him as capable of being one of the players to help us to the next level....... I 100% think he isnt, but if Gerrard thinks so.....? I hope he isnt that...silly!

even if Davis is fit for the playoffs, he might well struggle to get back in the starting 11. Surridge, who took his spot after Davis was injured, has scored 5 goals in 4 games.

the problem is, the better players you buy, the steeper the cost curve. There are many, many 10m or less players, but when you start getting to the mountain face of higher end purchases, the cost for marginal improvement explodes. (as below - apologies for my terrible drawing lol) Yeah the below isnt.....matching reality, but you see my point.....

honestly, i wondered if Gerrard knew we were probably safe, so is playing Bailey to see if he fancies him with a run of games to get up to speed, with a mind to reviewing him for next season, and whether he is part of his plans. I also wondered if Buendia is 100% part of his plans, so he isnt giving him as much game time towards the end of the season, as he already knows he likes him (ie: he told Emi, you are part of my plans, but i need to see what the others players can do - like Bailey) I dunno, maybe im........trying to justify it in my own head.

Ye. I agree Coutinho, Buendia & Ramsey are probably the only 3 of the midfield/forward 6 i would build around, so we basically need a DM, CM & Striker to be able to play as close as possible to their level. Imo we need to go BIG on these 3 new players, it would very much transform us, along with a new CB, so 4 top level players please.....

Having Watkins up front with Coutinho behind, is like having Marlon Harewood playing ahead of Messi. Infuriating. I really hope Gerrard doesnt see him as our main striker next year. Banjo's for feet and the footballing IQ of a mollusc, seriously.

yeah, if he does he does, if he doesnt he doesnt, but the crux is, half our team are lower PL quality at best, its really that simple i think.

the stats say it all, at home, 40% possession against the bottom team in the league. Its not good. Half our team just isnt good enough, hopefully there is a massacre within this squad in the summer.
