Brentford wouldn’t have made the premier league if they hadn’t sold players to the tune of 160 million over the previous 6 years and spent 60 million on new signings.Brentford where promoted to the PL with the lowest losses of any other promoted team for over 5 years.Check out a site called the Swiss ramble makes scary reading for some.

No surprise sadly Norwich was a bad move so soon after Villa but I expect his pay off will cushion the blow.Thoroughly decent honest bloke but have to say limited as a manager but another product of the Matthew Benham project.Dean has a history at all his clubs for going on long losing runs but follows up with decent results to save him.His last bad run at Brentford ended when Thomas Frank joined and we stepped up our performances so much so that he caught the eye of a few bigger clubs and off he went.I honestly don’t think we would have made the Premier league had he stayed.I hope he has a good break comes back and gets another job at a decent club.

Not many I’d take back but definitely Watkins although I doubt if we could afford him.Have him over Toney all day long

Wonder if this investigation goes on till the end of the season.Most likely when you look at their history on deciding punishments.

Wouldn’t bet on it but Toney has his legal team talking with his clubs so I’m not expecting him to plead guilty.So in that case I haven’t seen in previous cases where the accused has been prevented from playing.But then again if some of the outrageous incidents that are appearing on social are proven then he will never play again

He has been charged so has not been found guilty Yet.Seems strange that this has been going on for 17 months not the 7 being stated in the press so can’t be as straight forward as it appears.This could.take many many months to reach a conclusion so those posting that it will impact Brentford’s season are way off.If he is found guilty of fraudulent betting ie being involved in the bet he could and should be looking at a massive fine and ban.How much more money do these highly paid players need.

Not sure if you were great or we were just crap I expect it’s somewhere in the middle although you came out the trap like greyhounds.Better atmosphere than I thought there would be and we were shell shocked after 15 mins.Our injury list is horrendous and a club our size will always struggle but I suppose the next week will see how much impact that result has with you at home to United and us playing Wolves.I always expected days like this most weeks when we went up but that has rarely happened although Toon put 5 past us last away game.We should have our full squad available after the World Cup and think we will have a better second half to the season but if that fails I won’t shed tears if we go back to the Championship which our club is more suited to.The PL is set up for the usual top 6 occasionally one other club will break through for a season the rest look over their shoulder hoping to keep in the tv money pit.Good luck for the season your stadium deserves a good team.

Looking forward to this on Sunday few early beers in town then off to one of my favourite stadiums where I’d take a draw now.Difficult to call as we are over performing with key players still missing and Villa under performing with some superb players.

Thomas Frank has been great for us along with Dean Watkins Hogan Jota and many others who have disappointed where they have ended up elsewhere. Just saying.

He suffered a serious thigh injury with the added issue of arthritis last season so hardly played for Sampdoria whose season collapsed mainly due to his unavailability according to a local hack.He passed his medical and has done his pre season so ready to go.I think this is a typical Brentford signing and I’m excited about this one.

Lots have been made about Eriksens impact and on the surface it’s hard to disagree but his appearance in the first team coincided with key players returning.I’m not too bothered about Damsguaards health issue as I’m sure we will carry out stringent medical tests and get good advice as we did with Eriksen.Artritus isn’t a big deal with the medication that is now available we have a young player who has treatment for this condition.The deal for Damsguaard is far from done I would add.

True and you have to have a large portion of luck as well.We played first on a Friday night last season against a gunners team in disarray missing their 2 main strikers and won 2 0.Hoping Leicester have the same problems Sunday Not looking forward to this season as I was last it’s a hard slog this league in a different way to the championship where you have so many games.The quality in the PL is on such a higher level you have to work so much harder for every point.

Brentford standing still?lost Eriksen and he was a massive plus for us but we have strengthened throughout the squad signed Strakosha international goalkeeper Hickey Right Back our weak position last season Ben Mee Experienced PL defender to cover Pinnock and Ager Damsguaard (as good as signed) to compete with Jensen as playmaker to hopefully replace Eriksen Lewis Potter exciting winger from championship a typical Bees signing Add to that we will have arguably our best plater Josh Dasilva back fit after missing most of last season Halil Dervisoglu a young striker who has been on loan in Turkey is now back and in the squad for this season Yoane Wissa signed last season struggled with injuries but finished the season strong and I believe will out score Tony this season. I believe this squad is an improvement on last season whether that equates to finishing higher than last season remain to be seen.

Sorensen sadly not good enough at this level and Pontus not much better imho.DaSilva hopefully is over his injury problems and as Eriksen commented when he joined he’s the best player at the club so maybe can fill the void along with Jensen who on his day can find a winning pass.Will be interested to see how well Eriksen does this season with the pressure of playing for United but wish him well he was absolute class for us but we do tend to bring the best out of certain players.Very happy with our new recruits but expecting us to be fighting it out in the bottom half of the table.

With Pinnock and Ajer both out injured a good back up signing especially as Pontus is on his last legs.

From what I’m hearing it’s very likely he will sign supported by the fact he has just bought a house in nearby Richmond and his family are settled in London.He’s a big fish in a small pond at Brentford and will be a starter every week which is vital if he wants to play for Denmark at the World Cup.this year.I admit I wasn’t that excited when he signed as I thought it was a bit of a friendship favour from Thomas Frank and our Danish connections.Will be interesting to see how he holds up next season when the sentiment calms down and he gets some rough treatment from opposing defenders something he doesn’t seem to get at the moment.

I expect you will be proved right although the gap between PL and Championship is getting wider and as we have seen this season with Watford and Norwich.This will result in teams like us looking to finish above those 3 promoted clubs which is great for finances but hardly exciting for fans.Some good comments on here regarding our season and I admit I thought we would get relegated back in January.Eriksen signing was a massive plus but we also got some key players back like our keeper Raya as the 2 keepers we got in on loan were dire.Will be interesting to see who we sign this summer as we will be buying in a much more expensive market,Look forward to visiting the Villa Park again next season.hope you all have a great summer
