  1. Not impressed by it at all but it’s typical of the current state of premier league football and the media.Trouble is a lot of fans crave for the attention and moan about it if it’s not directed at their club. All I would say is the hypocrisy of the moans about the ball being moved for the free kick and the bit of foam being extended. How many times are free kicks and throws taken from the right place that could affect play.or the penalty spot has been scuffed before a kick has been taken. For what it’s worth I along with my elderly mates who have been around the block and back didn’t contribute to any of the nonesense.Just find it amusing that the entitled Forrest fans moan about cheating when they got more to worry about than a moved ball.
  2. Some interesting posts The 3 points was the main target although an exciting game the quality of football on display was like being back in the Championship. Both teams missing some key players so not unexpected and could have gone either way in truth. Will be interesting when we meet in April as we should have the likes Mbeumo Hickey Norguaard Schade Wissa available. Its quite laughable Forrest fans crying about cheating.
  3. Never changes how Some fans of clubs describe all fans of other clubs.I will be at the game today and will be supporting my team as usual but won’t be joining in the circus surrounding Toneys return.Brentfords run of poor for has been down to a massive injury crisis,10 of the first team squad out injured apart from Toney who we didn’t miss when he was out for the last third of the season.Hope Toney scores a hat trick and get moved on for a big feee after the game.We are obviously not big enough for this “big dog”
  4. Looks like a points deduction for Villa then disgraceful behaviour
  5. There is no comparison as far as key players missing and going further the quality of their replacements. We had 4 players who are regular starters when we have a fit squad. We were missing our front 3 both fullbacks along with Jensen in mid field.replaced by players that some never make the bench and 3 free transfers. No complaints by me as it’s the Consequences of the way we are run we are a small club punching way above but with zero debt and struggle to pay premier league players and their agents demands.I was at the game but after watching the extended highlights I can’t say we were robbed or deserved to win but with a bit of luck might have nicked it.Hope this Oli stuff dies a death but heard Talkshite were on about it today it’s all gone too far considering it’s just one brainless divvy fan.
  6. I thought it was a red as stated earlier but let’s not go overboard the ref was yards away and gave a yellow Villa players nearby didn’t protest other than McGinn who complained to the ref that Mee had thrown the ball away.Managers including yours tend to defend their players.but not sure what Thomas saw to come to that opinion. The player managed to carry on Dispite this “Horrendous “ challenge think the words potential leg breaking should be put in front of the word.
  7. Yes agree with you and regarding the 2 idiots rolling around maybe their managers will show back the video of this in front of their team mates and let them know how pathetic this is.I like you weren’t expecting a game like this and along with my mates expected to get well and truly stuffed.Villa certainly looked a shadow of the side that turned over City and Arsenal although seeing Cash starting gave me some minor hope. The Mee tackle changed the whole game obviously but who knows I felt we were getting more and more pushed back and were relying on the ever decreasing counter in the second half.
  8. I can imagine I like this forum so won’t bother the games over now
  9. Haven’t bothered reading any of this thread yet thought I’d post before I get into extreme bias mode. What a great game that was full of controversy involving players acting like the wrestlers we used to see on tv years ago hilarious. Both benches kicking off was more like a game from the championship (the real best league in the world)rather than the boring predictable Premier league.Apart from the result which I would have taken before the game I was pleased with our commitment with such a weakened side and who knows had it not been for the red card which I agree with we might have hung on for the 3 points as up till then although Villa had the lions share of possession they seemed to be running out of ideas.Oli has taken up many pages on here I expect but my view is I have no problem players celebrating scoring against their former clubs and remember Oli going mental when he scored in the 4 0thrashing at your place last season.as he hadn’t scored for a while why shouldn’t they.Dont understand the uproar or the explanation given by Oli even worse the ridiculous statement given out by the Official Villa twitter account and getting police involved that’s laughable the whole end was chanting Oli was a c*** and this so called fan who was giving Oli grief wasn’t being racist and Oli had the last laugh so what’s the big deal..Just seen a video of Maupay getting abuse from Villa fans after the game so what, are Brentford going to launch a police investigation.Mcginn and Konsa both gave obscene gestures to fans who were giving them stick as they went down the tunnel you give it out you have to take it.Yesterday was yet another example of how good a coach Thomas Frank is getting a song out of a depleted squad made up of mainly reserve players.Hopefully April’s return game will be as lively but please don’t hurl abuse at any of our players as you might have your club getting the police to investigate you Apart from that I hope you manage to break up the rich club monopoly at the top of the league and get a top 3 finish but you must agree you will have to improve on Sundays performance
  10. People of his character don’t think like that,he’s been fawning over Arsenal for the last 6 months was hoping he would be gone with a nice wedge of money coming our way in January but expect with our injury problems that won’t happen.
  11. I am afraid you are right we won’t have anywhere near a competitive starting line up untill February.I doubt if Toney will now be sold in January.Villa will be odds on by KO Sunday with the bookies and they are a good barometer.
  12. Draw would be good but think along with too many key players out and your excellent form a defeat is on the cards.Thomas Frank has done an incredible job getting a tune out of this squad this season and but expect to end the season strong so watch out next April at Villa park.
  13. Maybe he owes the bloke who changed him from a winger under Dean to a striker a bit of gratitude.Really pleased for him though as he’s proving some of the doubters wrong yet again a genuine decent bloke.
  14. Yes Again,he has an ongoing condition that looks like it could be career ending.Always thought he would eventually move on to bigger club as on his day has the ability to run a game.
  15. We have 8 players out injured and with our limited squad it’s always going to be a struggle.since we got promoted we have only really sold 1 player,Raya to Arsenal whereas when in Div 1 and the championship we sold our best players every season Villa taking a few.Why we haven’t sold any in the PL is strange as I understand we haven’t had any serious bids for any of them so maybe they are seen as you say just average. Our team is still made up of many championship players our midfield 3 cost 7 mill.Just shows what a great coach Thomas Frank is and glad he stayed when Villa made an approached before Emery joined.Toney looks like he will be off in January but it’s not certain as with Wissa and Mbeumo off playing in the African tournament in January we will be well light up front and will only sell for top money.Think we will be just clear from relegation this year as there are poorer clubs but will be no tears from me when we return to the championship as had enough of VAR constant fixture changes and being in a league where you are just making up the numbers for the mega rich clubs and the main target is to stay in a league to pick up the TV money.Hope Villa manage to break into the top 6 this season.
  16. I have thought the same and the facts are we never lost a league game last season when he didn’t play.To contradict that we will miss Toney as he has vastly improved the last 2 seasons and his all round game both defensively and in attack will be glad when he moves on and he doesn’t want to be with us although he’s still being paid while he swans around the nightclubs of the world. Not confident that we will improve on last seasons results as Raya was a big miss when he was out of the team last season and he’s def off.
  17. He was in his own half, what was fortunate about the 3 goals Bees scored ?
  18. Thought it was an entertaining game 2 nil up a bit against the run of play but dreadful defending letting in 3 poor goals when you let a central defender run from the half way line and waltz through the defence then wide open at the back for Cash to leave Hickey for dead and smash home.Better second half when we had some ball winners on the pitch and more like our starting 11.Could have gone either way 14 shots Villa 3 on target with 10 and 3 for the Bees.Good work out for both sides with the season still a couple of weeks away.I would think both managers will be happy with this tournament as there doesn’t seam to have been any serious injuries which is always the worry.
  19. Doubt if Raya plays again for the first team refused a new contract so Flekken was signed and will be 1st choice keeper ( not over impressed so far)This tournament is an improvement on the usual pre season friendlies for me as you are playing against fellow PL teams.Although Brentford have not won a game I think they have played well and it’s been a good test for squad players with the likes of Norguaard Schade Hickey Toney missing.
  20. He signed back in January and has played or been involved in most games great prospect and dare I say reminds me of Oli but with more pace.
  21. Minority at the moment but will increase everytime he opens his mouth.
  22. He should keep his head down and count his blessings he got such a soft ban.He don’t give a toss about Brentford it’s al, about him.Hope I never see him in a Brentford shirt again.
  23. What a great end to our season dare I say while you are rightly celebrating on yours but we were only 2 points off Villa.I think you have the resources to push on and challenge the top 6 next season especially now you have a top manager who now’s how to navigate teams in cup competitions. We have shown yet again there will be life without Toney although we will miss Raya next season despite having signed his replacement already. Will be back at Villa for the 3 rd season on the trot never thought that would ever happen in the PL
  24. I would add what a contrast as a person he is to Oli
