  1. Don't mind me, I'm just rambling on about my pov too.
  2. @Brumerican Pretty disappointed with the result. Though good to see Markonnen doing well.
  3. I've only ever been a 5-a-side futsal player at a decent standard, so maybe that's why I've made that judgement. Still, I don't think my appreciation and understanding of the game is lacking because I am just a spectator of eleven a side. I think Benrahma's technical ability and technique is top class. I guess we'll see.
  4. I don't think Benrahma is 'taking a punt'. For me he's more likely to go on to achieve similar success like Ash Young after his move from Watford.
  5. His dress sense is apparently fashionable but not for me. Who cares though, right? But saying that I will probably rock up to my wedding wearing white socks, slides, basketball shorts and a baggy t-shirt!
  6. Had a bit of a reminisce about Guti today. Those no-look back heels. Crazy.
  7. I'm pretty confident that if he came here he would become our best winger and would make the grade. I'd be happy to sign him from what I've seen of him. He's 24, very sound technically, more so than any of our current wingers. That Brentford fan who drops in here on occasion rated him as better than Maupay. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this guy's career kicks onward and upwards.
  8. What an immense character and talent he is. I've said for so long now he will be up their with the best of all time, that we need to hold on to him and build around him if we are to be successful. So glad it's coming to be. Maintaining PL status this season is so pivotal to our future success as a club. Grealish is a player other players want to play with, he moves, others question being here more. I've always enjoyed supporting Villa, the only time I've really been disappointed is when I read that Xia might be responsible for the club ceasing to exist! But there's been nothing close to watching this hometown hero play his role to salvage the club from obscurity, his game is so aesthetic and his character has depth.
  9. Wrong! There's no 'about' or 'probably' about it. Your numbers are spot on. hehe Not sure I agree with the Lambert sentiment though, just to be serious for a second.
  10. I doubt it. It really depends on a myriad of variables and how they match up on any given match day. If the technical ability, off the ball movement and positioning of a team is adequate they can play the possession brand of football. Easily. The ball moves faster than the man and therefore the team in possession is always at an advantage, if they use it that way. I guess it also depends on the tactics and organisation of the set trap and what will trigger it. If you commit a lot of players to a set trap and if it fails you leave gaps for the attacking team to exploit and broken defensive lines. A nightmare! High levels of stamina and cohesion is needed for a high pressing game where you set traps in your own attacking half. I love the interview that Dean Smith gave on his coaching philosophy, because he said that players and coaches need to learn as much about the game as possible. Then you adopt whatever approach you deem necessary to compete as best possible, as you have a tactical understanding that gives you an edge.

Hope it turns out to be a worthwhile and enjoyable adventure.
  12. If every Villa player plays to the highest standards that we've seen from each individual, and Smith has us setup well enough to compete, there's no reason why we can't win this.
  13. Leonard is a beast on both ends of the floor. I'm glad I decided to tune into this one!

  15. Dark chocolate is apparently quite good for you.
  16. I think this is poetic at times: They told me I would never make it, I would never achieve it Reality is nourishment, but people don't believe it I guess it's hard to stomach the truth like a bulimic It's a dirty game and nobody is willin' to clean it But this is for the paraplegic people dreamin' of runnin' Ladies married to men who don't please 'em, dreamin' of comin' Verbally murderous like David Berkowitz when I'm gunnin' Some cowards on the Internet didn't think I would sell Scared to talk shit in person 'cause they stuck in a shell And couldn't understand the pain of bein' stuck in a cell Hell is not a place you go if you're not a Christian It's the failure of your life's greatest ambition It's a bad decision to blindly follow any religion I don't see the difference in between the wrong and the wrong Soldiers emptyin' the clips at little kids and they moms Are just like a desperate really bad person strapped to a bomb Humanity's gone, smoked up in a gravity bong By a Democrat-Republican Cheech and Chong Immortal Technique, you never heard me preach in a song I'm not controversial, I'm just speakin' the facts Put your hands in the air like you got the heat to your back And shake your body like a baby born addicted to crack And since life's a gamble like the craps tables at Vegas I freestyle my destiny, it's not written in pages
  17. I'm talking more about their craft than how they live. Ironically you said it's rap rather than poetry. Well, poetry is more about the idea expressed and how that is composed rather than the vocal talent.
  18. Most rappers are f*ckwits for lack of a better expression. Vultures that don't understand the culture. I'm sorry that your exposure to rap has only left you with the prejudice you have toward it. It is a form of poetry, but like our society, those representing it don't always live true to and uphold what it means to be.
  19. It's classic Muhammad Ali brother.
  20. I have wrestle with an alligator, I done tussle with a whale, I've handcuffed lightening, thrown thunder in jail! Only last week, I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalised a brick, I'm so mean I make medicine sick!
  21. Not entirely sure why I did tbh. Think I wanted to share that I'm excited and a tad nervous, which has nothing to do with her being a public figure. I think @KentVillan's advice was apt and about all I need really. We get along, and she's cute, there's chemistry and that's what scares me to be honest. If I can return to being somewhat serious for a moment, the last girl who I caught feelings for slept with my former best friend. I spent nearly every day with both of them for just about a decade. And that's not even the worst part. When I found out, I took the mentality of being happy for them, as long as they were honest with me, so I could move on and find someone true to me. What ensued was a very influential catalyst in the onset of my health deteriorating and me subsequently being diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Don't get me wrong, there were a number of contributing factors that lead to that diagnosis, but the betrayal and toxic behaviour from that scenario, wouldn't wish it on anybody. I'd like to think I'm a fairly capable man with a reasonably sound mind these days, but I could certainly be haunted by ghosts if I chose to live there. It's not something that I have to concern myself with immediately, I'm just going to enjoy the moment with this girl for now, but at some stage revealing my past may come up. I lived the experience, so I know how bloody scary it is, and I'm aware that potentially may frighten some women away.
  22. There's probably a bad black-hole and Uranus joke in there somewhere.
  23. I trained with Brett Rainbow today in preparation for a whole week of daily tryouts for the 2020 season. Preseason is imminent and will run for about 5 months depending on the club, season starts next March. I'm being looked at by 9 clubs across two divisions as it is right now, two of those clubs I have played for previously. Session with a bodybuilder turned strongman fitness coach tomorrow as well, he's developed a program for me. Three motto's I'm trying to live by this coming season: Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. You won't always be motivated, that's why you must learn discipline. You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
