The thing that's characterised our club over the last decade is short term thinking. Sell benteke, replace him with gestede, sell Milner replace him with Ireland, sign old players on big contracts for a quick fix. It has almost, literally, lead to our club going into liquidation. The opposite of this is long term thinking where we change our style of play which, if we get promoted, may mean we've could stay there and thrive. This will need windows where we recruit the right players long term. It's clear that we have a lot of average players, I'd imagine there'll be a few leaving in Jan, I'd be happy if we only signed A couple if they were right in the long term. I don't know if smith is the man, none of us do. But he he is the right kind of man, playing the right kind of football. It will take time.

In terms of the tiredness, I remember reading an interview of a Huddersfield player after Wagner took over. He said the first couple of games they blew up after 60 minutes, the third or fourth after 70 and so on. He was asking them to press in a way they never had. The whole rotation thing is in the knowledge that this will happen. It's a realisation of the actual by the manager, not a failure.

Problem is he has vey few options when he has the ball. We have 2 of the worst attacking fullbacks in the northern hemisphere. Hutton and Taylor can't cross so don't overlap , this limits grealish to only having to go past 3 players.

Marathon not a sprint. He has to instil his style of play, that will take time, especially when some of the players don't suit it. We are 4 players short. 2 full backs 1 centre back and a winger. For those saying we were terrible, I disagree, we are a team in transition Norwich were better, but not massively.

Regular international footballer. Can't remember a game for us when he's been shite. Can't wait for someone with a brain to play him in his correct position. "He's shite" is ridiculous.

Genuinely believe some posters need to get some perspective. He's an old man who's died, that's it, nothing more. Denigrating him at the moment for knocking down a stand, or not giving managers more money, is lacking in class imo. Let the analysis of him wait until he's buried - he deserves respect as a person, dad, grandad etc.

We just need to be patient. We have no defence. Not even clough or pep could create a sound defence with our mish mash of full backs. We need to attack !!!!!!!!!!!!!

i watched cloughs last interview as forest manager just after they were relegated. He was asked the question why did you get relegated he said "we weren't good enough" , he was asked the question "what about the manager?" He said, "he wasn't good enough either". This was from a man who had scaled the heights and was struggling with alcoholism , still had more humility than Bruce.

Quality player, a real traditional midfielder, tackles, runs, and passes like a dream.

Thought we played well first half, paced and threatening. Second half was a bit nervous, but fairly comfortable. Mcginn was superb, as was some of the first half movement, and interchanges between the front 3-4.

Don't think Bruce is the man, but protests shouldn't be an event which happens every couple of years. The protests against Lerner were totally different and after a sustained period of lack of investment. I don't like the football, increasingly I don't particularly like the man. He failed to get us promoted last season, but we lost in the play offs, there needs to be a sense of balance. Who is the magician that is going to get us first place? Buying players for the sake of it and being stuck with them has been the cause of our downward spiral, changing managers every 2 years will have the same impact. I respect your right to protest, but you have to respect that there is a middle ground between out and in, it's a pragmatic middle ground where he stays until there's a realistic and long term replacement. Ill be at the game on Tuesday, supporting the villa, not individual players, or an individual manager, but the club.
