  1. No it’s not like horse! Pfft!!!
  2. Just finished Super Mario Bros. 3. What a game it was for its time!
  3. Berlin derby tonight. Shame it’s not going to be played in a packed Olympiastadion.
  4. The wife bought Animal Crossing so I've been giving that a bit of a run. Never thought I'd play it but it's a bit of fun. The 2 player Co-op mode is rubbish though. Otherwise I've been trying to get through Super Mario 3 on the NES Emulator. Up to World 7.
  5. Wasn’t to be. Went in at half time 0-0 after having 11 shots to 2 and a goal ruled out by VAR. They caught us napping 2-3 times in the 2nd half, and eventually made us pay late in the game to win 1-0. I was pretty gutted but it was an incredible run to get there. I finished 8th in the league so no Europe. Hopefully the lack of distractions will help me break the big 6. Liverpool won the league for the 2nd time in the save, whilst Leicester surprisingly went down. They have a lot of talent which I might be able to obtain but we’ll see I guess. I spent the money I made in January in on a 17yr old French CD. Yet to find out what I’ll have to spend now the season has ended.
  6. For the 2nd leg I got 3 of my first choice back four back available after losing them to suspensions (Katterbach, Wober & Cruz) whilst they lost Kovacic to suspension. Mount came in for him. Stroke of luck. Jorginho goes off injures after 3 minutes and they decide to bring on Ben Godfrey (who they bought from relegated Norwich for 46m). After the excitement of the first leg, the second leg is fairly quiet. In the 44th minute Wober gives away a penalty for a push on a set piece. Mount slots the penalty. Chelsea lead 5-3. I start looking at my ratings, I want to make a change at half time. Adekanye is the worst on the pitch, he’s getting the hook for Grealish (who would have started in his place if not for being underdone). Whilst deciding this a Cruz cross finds Adekanye at the back post who levels it up on the day! He earns a reprieve and rewards me with another goal at the back post provided by Gilson after 54 minutes! We’re suddenly set to go through on away goals. I expect an onslaught late in the game but decide not to go defensive. It never works for us against good teams, they generally romp us. Surprisingly we have little to weather late on and we’re in the final! Set to play Inter at De Kuip. Underdogs of course but no different than against Atletico and Chelsea so who knows. Meanwhile the league is a grind, we’ll finish 7th-9th. Good enough for the board but will be disappointing if we can’t make Europe again.
  7. That’s fair enough about the gambling, and they touched on it during the time in the playoffs against the Knicks, but to the casual fan they perhaps didn’t make it clear that he’d be up all night playing cards, drinking and smoking cigars etc. all the time. I mean the general assumption of the flu game/pizzagate was that he was hungover. Turns out he was the only one of his entourage to get food poisoning was because, frustrated that they’d already eaten earlier, he spat on the pizza so they wouldn’t eat any. But hey, he was a freak who was good enough and tough enough mentally to back it up on the court the next day like he was 100%. There is so much footage that still on the cutting room floor. That camera crew followed the 98 Bulls all season, but many of the episodes are taken up with game footage that NBA fans are already well versed with. I wanna see more of Michael Jordan dancing on the bus thinking he’s the boss because he’s got a pre-release to some 90s R&B singer nobody remembers or talking about Kobe in the locker room etc. Also, for anyone else that is interested in him and his mentality. His Hall of Fame speech is a weird watch.
  8. It has to be taken into account that Jordan commissioned this documentary and ultimately has the power to squash anything he didn't want included. For instance they don't touch on Craig Hodges, one of Jordan's teammates who was essentially blackballed out of the NBA after being on Jordan's team for whatever reason. They barely touch on his gambling or various other issues. His family (apart from his Mum) are barely in the doco. What was it like to live and grow up with this extreme competitor? He also scoffs at Isiah Thomas' excuses saying 'I know what's he's going to say. He's had x years to come up with this' without a hint of irony that so has he with anything that he's questioned on. He's the greatest player of all time and the documentary was a gripping and fantastic watch, but it also barely scratched the surface in a lot of areas.
  9. Sorry for all the updates but I guess this is what this game is about. 1st leg against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. They've got Sancho, Aouar & Ousmane Dembele playing behind Tammy. The rest of the team is similar to now except they've got Oblak in goal and Kepa on the bench. We go into the sheds 3-0 down at half time and Tammy gets his 2nd in the 46th minute. Gilson instantly gets one back to make it 4-1. At least I've got an away goal. After 62 minutes, I decide the change it up, triple sub. We're in the game for the last 20 minutes. Gilson smashes home a thunderbastard with five minutes left, and then sets up Jack for another in injury time. Probably getting excited over nothing but we go to Villa Park down 4-3 and still in the tie.
  10. Played my Euro Cup QF against Atletico. Dominated the home leg, won 3-0 but should have been more like 6. They score within 10 minutes in the second leg. Then my left back Katterbach gets 2 yellows after 12 minutes...he’s off. They score again before half time to make it 3-2 on aggregate. Somehow we start to get a grip on the game but don’t take our chances until Samatta comes off the bench and scores with less than 20 to go. Douglas Luiz gets another in injury time to get a draw on the day. Huge result. Chelsea in the Semis so we’re pretty much ****.
  11. 30 League games into the 2021/22 season with Villa and I'm sitting 8th, with an 8 point gap to Chelsea in 7th so it looks like I'll take a bit of step back this season and probably missing out on Europe depending on where the cups go. I have managed to make it through to the Quarter Final of the Euro Cup and although I'm facing Atletico Madrid, maybe I can squeak through. It does feel like I've hit a bit of a wall though as the big sides just seem to kill me. I've tried changing it up approach wise but the result seem to remain the same. My Brazilian regen wonderkid Gilson has solved my striker issue by knocking in 18 goals thus far and Almada continues to improve with 15 goal contributions, but my French AMR wonderkid Lihadji had been quiet this season until scoring a hat-trick in the Euro Cup round of 16, whilst the left side has been a bit of a challenge all season. I have started to get some interest in my players though for the first time in 3 seasons, but the only one to leave was my right back Zeefuik who I bought for 3.6m and managed to sell to a Chinese club for 25m which has helped balance the books. I've managed to bring in a 19yr old Dutch midfielder Kenneth Taylor and a 20 yr old French wonderkid Lucien Agoume who are due to arrive on free transfers so hopefully I can push on again a bit next season.
  12. Why do you think he wants a 5 year deal? So he can finish his career as Bayern's #1.
  13. Well his signing has certainly ruffled Neuer’s feathers somewhat. Yet to sign an extension.
  14. He's made a few clangers since signing for Bayern too.
  15. I played the original Sims quite a bit back in the day. Another one I used to get into quite a bit was Transport Tycoon.
  16. Transfer window for the start of the 2021/22 season at Villa. Had a real tough time trying to get rid of anyone in the transfer market. In the end had to just keep some players around who have no chance of getting into my team (Hause, Nakamba etc). Here's the major deals I did with a 50m budget: In - Max Wober (Salzburg) 17m, Gilson (FLA - Brazil) 22.5m & Mahmoud Dahoud (Dortmund) 8.5m Out - Guilbert (Din. Kyiv) 10.25m, Haberer (Galatasary) 13.75m, Hogan (Rotherham) 750k After qualifying for the UEFA Cup I'm expecting a bit of a slide. Luckily the board only want top half finish (finished 6th last season). Have drawn Spartak , Feyenoord & Vit Guimaraes in the UEFA Cup. Started off the league with a 2-0 loss at home to Chelsea followed by a 6-2 flogging away to Tottenham. Luckily have since recovered with victories over Southampton & WBA. 19yr old striker Gilson has started off on fire bagging 6 goals in 4 games and Matty Longstaff looks to be taking a step up this season. Grealish and particularly McGinn continue to frustrate.
  17. Birds of Prey. 6/10. More average DC film content.
  18. First two episodes of Billions Season 5 have been decent enough.
  19. I don't think so either, but did it fail? Not in the view of the executives and accountants. Here's the world box office figures: - First film - $654m - Second film - $1.06b - Third film - $963m - Fourth film - $1.04b - Fifth film - $795m Hence, lazy reboot for the win!
  20. Probably my favourite movie.
  21. Hornso

    Keinan Davis

6-1. We're going to win the league!
  22. Why take a risk and lose money when you can be lazy and be guaranteed a semi-decent box office by pigging backing off an established franchise? Not my opinion but that's the logic behind it. It's also why it won't be worth your time watching.
  23. I loved Season 1. Thought it was brilliant. Season 2 lost me somewhat, and I feel like Season 3 is a slight improvement on Season 2. It's a show I've struggled with on a weekly basis as you have to be fully engaged at least in an attempt to understand it. In hindsight I think I might have enjoyed Season 1 so much because I was able to binge it and put the pieces together more easily. There have been parts of S2 and S3 which I have not understood, but maybe that's because I either haven't paid enough attention or I'm not smart enough to fully comprehend what's happening.
