Gabby has been scoring crucial goals even when playing poorly. he is a legend already, although in terms of loyalty and ability we've not had much to shout about in recent years.

I have been following his loan at Blackpool and he seems to come off the bench every now and then and score but 90% of the time he sits on the bench which feels pretty baffling as you would have though he would be good enough to start at that level. Whether he comes back and does well I don't know, Luke Moore has somehow managed to still be part of a Prem team's squad so who knows. When I first saw Weimann play i was not impressed at all - his attitude was spot on though but I didn't think he would make it, now look at him - one of the best players we have! If Andy can prove us all wrong then maybe Delf can - but right now i doubt it.

I don't think Lichaj has done much wrong to be honest. I don't rate Herd at all.

judging on Newcastle and Liverpool's displays in the last two days we can't bank on other teams beating our relegation rivals, we have to keep our future in our own hands as no-one especially the refs are going to do us any favours!

He plays like a winger and technically seems pretty good, can cross well. Not sure I rate him as a defender yet but he's definitely improving.

The first half we were dreadful, utterly clueless going forward and a stupid goal to concede, Guzan's heroics kept us in it and of course Gabby's goal out of the blue. Second half we were superb, Bennett atoned and Weimann was class, Westwood was unlucky and their goal was lucky also, although they came back into it well. so relieved we won, and to see that twitching corrupt **** squirm is priceless Guzan 10 - Unbelievable saves Baker 5 - Unfortunate injury although it was a strange place to put your head Vlaar 7 - Thought he did a lot better today Clark 6 - Tidy and no mistakes Lowton 6 - Gets forward well but defending still iffy Westwood 6 - Unlucky not to score, worked hard Bannan 6 - Tidy at times, rubbish at others Sylla 6 - Did ok but his tackles would have got him sent off had he stayed on Gabby 7 - Looked wasted down the middle but still scored, much better second half Benteke 6 - Wasn't quite at the races but another vital goal! in a stable settled team not fighting relegation probably half our team would seem better than they are. to his credit Bannan seems to be technically quite adept in all areas (heading aside) and he works really hard, but he tries too hard, makes poor decisions at times and is too easy to push off the ball. Clark, Bannan, Herd, Baker, Westwood, Delph, Lowton where all not ready to become regular starters at the beginning of the season, most have learnt at a pace but at the expense of a massive amount of points thrown away. And this is not about age this is about time on the pitch and experience at this level.

I'm a big fan of Weimann, but I think when we are playing away especially at top teams we need to offer our defence more protection, so I would go with the below. Guzan Lowton - Vlaar - Clark -- Baker westwood - sylla - delph Zog -- Gabby Benteke

You originally argued that he hasn't made us worse than last season. Which is just not true. You then went on to make a lot of excuses for all our problems blaiming the wage bill and lack of experience but fail to blame Lambert for any of this. It was also made clear to you that your list of experienced players he had to sell was utter rubbish. You also seem to ignore the poor tactical decisions he has made which has cost us important points this season. No-one can argue that Lambert hasn't gambled wrecklessly with his transfers, team choices and tactics, and he's alienated players that many would have kept onside. BUT you look at the team we have now and you look at the passion hunger and determination of the players and...... just maybe if we did stay up then with a few decent prem experienced players added then the future might even mean mid-table obscurity and the occasional cup run next season?

so come the end of the season there is going to be one major exodus even if we stay up. most of the below will be either released or sold at a pittance. Defouenso Ireland Makoun Lichaj Hutton Dunne (god knows why we would give him a new contract) If Benteke gets sold - will we keep Bent? If we get relegated then who knows who we will sell, but Dunne and forced sales aside - it's clear that the above have to go.

thing i like about him he never stops running and makes some good interceptions, plus he always tries to pass forward. with Westwood taking most set pieces we also don't have Bannan's awful corners going against him.

he did well, closed down well, kept possession well and tackled well, can't ask for anymore really.

we won, but we were so shit at times. Really impressed by Sylla, and apart from one needless loss of possession Bannan did well.

I was explaining to the missus about the issues with our defence, Clark, Vlaar, Lowton, Baker and Guzan have never played week in week out in the premiership till this season, so every game is like Russian Roulette to see who will make a **** up that will cost us a goal or the match. They are all getting better and getting experience and Guzan has not done much wrong, Vlaar is at a level he should be fine but it is still his maiden season, it's nothing to do with age or ability it is all down to experience.
