    Didn't realise he was only still 26! Shakespeare has experience with the player and I can only guess that if he did come in it was with a specific plan in mind/job he would do for us. Of course a bigger name would be more enticing but willing to trust the recruitment team and back him to come good - Always great to be pleasantly surprised at someone's success than underwhelmed by big name/big money.

    Always liked Shane Long - clever player and always seems to give 100%. I would worry about problems fitting in to the team ala Hogan or McCormack though maybe?

    I like how Dr T realised his tweeting of the names etc in the summer possibly had a detrimental effect on some deals and has found a way to get some info out via his deliciously bizzare maths tweets without really saying anything. Hope of deals and speculation is nectar from the gods at this time and i truely love reading all your theories and suggestions. Maybe one of numbers currently coming in will be another leftfield name like birkir was - if the number of potential deals was as great as wyness said it would be great to see all those we had approached over the window
