  1. The clip again with another suitable soundtrack-
  2. I imagine the person who runs villareport gets a fair bit of stick, a percentage of that will be from Wolves fans, so I get the holder of that account wanting to have a dig when the opportunity arises. They did likewise when Fulham were relegated I think. Still petty as **** though. Holding a semi final win from 2015 as some sort of benchmark to laugh at another club is fairly dismal. “Mind the Watford gap” would have been a little bit wittier.
  3. It sounds a little bit condescending - I really don’t mean it to be, but having seen us lose a couple of finals and a couple of semi finals, losing a semi final is preferable in my opinion. However, I haven’t seen us lose a semi final quite like that, so maybe that would hurt more than not turning up against Arsenal (or Chelsea in 2000).
  4. Little bit of pointless trivia - BBC link
  5. Not a fan of that, but I prefer an ear stud to those little disk things that create a ring in the ear lobe. Sometimes the little disk thing is solid, other times it’s a hollow ring leaving a penny sized hole in the ear lobe. I know I probably sound a bit “kids these days...” there. But even though that style has been reasonably common place for a while, I still find them a little bit jarring to look at. Maybe jarring isn’t the right word. I think it’s because without fail I always think what if it gets caught on a hook (what hook that would be, I have no idea, but it’s there) and grimace at the thought.
  6. Haha to be honest I’m a little bit surprised that the Terminator v Robocop movie hasn’t been made yet. That seems the obvious one considering the previous crossover in other mediums.
  7. Only just read that they’re making another terminator film, this time with Linda Hamilton in it. It’s a direct sequel to judgement day, meaning that the time and money I wasted on the films in between has been further compounded.
  8. The Old Town Hall Vaults, known locally as “The Backies”. Tucked away on a side street off Whitchurch high street. Although my knowledge of pubs in the area isn’t great, I’d be surprised if this wasn’t considered among the best in the vicinity. Birthplace of composer Edward German for the classical enthusiasts, the pub also comes complete with grade ii listed gents outbuilding for the toilet enthusiasts. As I’m increasingly finding with Joules pubs, it’s nicely done out - wood panelled walls, welcoming fireplace, vintage pub memorabilia, a very traditional feel without being overly old fashioned. The Joules pubs that I’ve been in have a consistent style but with certain differences. You can tell that there’s a bit of consideration in how it’s been restored, very much making the most of the existing layout and character of the building. Looking forward to visiting more in the future.
  9. If we won promotion and finished mid table in the premier league next season, that would be fantastic. I wouldn’t go so far as saying it would be “exciting”, but it would most likely have meant we secured some good results along the way. It would probably have been one of the best seasons in about ten or so years, admittedly not saying much there. But, as with lots of football clubs and a lot of supporters, finishing mid table a few times in a row would quickly become stale and sections of fans would become restless. People quickly adjust to their new comfortable surroundings and all of a sudden finishing 12th or 13th would be the worst thing ever. I’d try and remember that we nearly went bust last summer to appreciate the context, but I can’t pretend there’s not a chance impatience wouldn’t creep in eventually. If it wasn’t for the financial side of things, I’d quite happily stay in the championship for years. I really don’t miss the wankfest of the premier league. It wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a few Fulham supporters who are quietly looking forward to next season with renewed enthusiasm now that their fate has finally be sealed.
  10. It’s almost like their agent fees are being channeled a different way...
  11. I had a couple of similar thoughts before I went with toad in the hole, I figured it would provoke the fewest amusing responses. Hot dogs - “well they probably do contain real dog!” Spotted dick - Kenneth Williams gif
  12. Yes, that is true. I’m a little bit surprised that hasn’t already been put in place though. They must have looked into it over the years while this has all been going on. I suppose it’s because they’ll want the best deal possible and securing that requires champions league qualification, I guess?
  13. Following on from the veg naming talk in the Brexit thread - I’m sure it’s been asked before, but people who are upset about the term veggie burgers or vegan sausage rolls because “they’re not burgers/sausages”, do they get upset because the recipe for toad in the hole traditionally contains no amphibians? As it happens I finally got round to trying a Greggs vegan sausage roll as it happened, yep tastes like an original meat one. Wouldn’t have noticed the difference.
  14. Supporters of Forest, Newcastle and Ipswich with long memories will be able to vouch for and better 7th position.
  15. My ignorance on display here, but I hadn’t realised until just that it’s called “Tottenham Hotspur Stadium”.
  16. Oh I don’t believe for a second it’s unique to Wolves, of course it’s undoubtedly the case for loads of teams, Villa possibly more than most. But the dormant fans of Sheffield Wednesday, Forest etc don’t live near me*, so they aren’t an annoyance. *unless there are some near me and I’m yet to find that out
  17. Good against the good teams. Less good against the less good teams. The not insignificant number of people who live near me that have conveniently remembered they’re Wolves supporters in the last year or two seem content anyway.
  18. I’ve been to that vineyard a few times. I haven’t been to many so I can’t exactly compare but it’s nice enough. The sampling room is reasonable too, it’s something like three glasses for £5 I think. Not huge glasses but not the shot sized glasses I was expecting either. Annoying pedant alert, Halfpenny Green is in Bobbington rather than Wombourne. Like you, I don’t mind an occasional glass of wine, but I’d rather a beer/lager.
  19. Ah ok. So, hypothetically speaking of course, any praise given to a former manager who has taken over a new club in the other football section or in any other thread can also be chalked up to him being a new manager. Like I say, “hypothetically”. It would be very hypocritical to praise one manager’s early form when taking over a new club and dismissing another as the new manager bounce. Good, as long as no one is doing that.
  20. When we were on that bad run, you seemed to conveniently forget his opening 8-10 games in charge.
  21. Ha no that was removed years ago. Since then it was on display in the national football museum in Manchester. It’s now been removed because of the recent Jacko documentary.
