  1. If you look on Kinsella's Instagram there's a pic of him with his 21st birthday cake. Comments on that between him and Steven Ireland taking the piss out of Gabby. This club captain nonsense is obviously a joke to the other players.
  2. The club have sanctioned the MOMS supporter group 20x20m surfer flag for use at the Arsenal game that originally got banned at Wembley for the cup final. Hopefully it will help with the pre-match atmosphere!
  3. Reads the game better than anybody else in our team and looks threatening every time he picks the ball up and starts carrying it into midfield. Shame we don't actually have a midfielder that's so commanding on the ball.
  4. Spent more time bending down lacing his boots up in the first half than contributing anything of great quality. Sanchez will no doubt get it in the neck again but some of the silly passes Gana made backwards to him were suicidal. Not good enough today.
  5. Perfect response from Garde, I think. Whilst not comparing him to the likes of Wenger or Ferguson, this is exactly the way they'd deal with this and sends a message now to the rest of the squad that they can't take the piss. Hopefully Jack won't need telling again and will be in the papers for his performances on the pitch. Please start with a good shift against Watford (if he makes it on as a sub!)
  6. He is 20 years old, a man in a position of responsibility earning good money with a solid family unit behind him. There is no excuse for this, he's not an easily influenced 18 year old just getting a taste for alcohol and clubbing. He shouldn't be allowing himself to be anywhere near nitrous oxide (whether he used it or not) and certainly should be more aware about his behaviour in front of smartphones. The club have released enough statements about his behaviour already, it's time to get tough.
  7. After last nights dismal team selection and subsequent result, a new dawn couldn't have arrived any quicker. Welcome Remi, utmost respect to him for even taking this job on. I hope his influence translates to a positive improvement on the pitch so that we can all start to be a bit more upbeat. There's got to be 3 teams worse than us on paper, we've had an awful start but there's time to turn this around. First task is pretty simple, pick his best starting 11 and stick with it for 5-6 games!
  8. There's no way Rogers would come here part way through the season in the mess we're currently in. Would be career suicide. Moyes on the other hand not doing particularly well in Spain and would welcome the chance to come back home. It's a win win. If it gets us a proven manager then I'm all for Moyes. The alternatives aren't worth thinking about (Dyche, Pearson, Redknapp etc.)
  9. The look on Tim's face in the post match interview says it all and he's not had anyone from the club speak out to back him. Lose to Swansea and he's gone. The atmosphere could turn very nasty at VP next week.
  10. Having watched him on Saturday constantly with his back to goal, tapping 5 yard passes to the nearest Villa shirt it was an absolute delight to see him face up to their defenders and take control last night. He is undoubtedly at his best with the ball at his feet dribbling and seeking out space.
  11. I always park under the motorway bridge a bit further down from The Yew Tree pub. Walked up on my own towards the ground and was very fortunate to time it just right to get infront of the kettled blues fans being held at Witton before being escorted to the ground. The police had left room for Villa fans to pass them on the other side of the road. I feel for you Stevo if you were amongst that lot, against your will. Was astounded, like others to have left the ground promptly (final whistle blew as I was at the bottom of the Holte End steps) only to find the fencing up blocking access towards Witton where the away fans were. Having walked back around the ground and down a side road to the Tesco roundabout we then discovered the other police cordon blocking access to Witton Road. At this point they still hadn't let the Blues fans out, I can understand wanting to keep rival fans from clashing on the station platform but it was disgusting that they couldn't split access to the station off whilst still allowing fans access to Witton Lane to retrieve cars! Had no choice but to walk up Aston Lane past Tesco, up to Perry Barr dog track and walk through the unlit Holford Industrial estate to loop back to the top end of Witton Lane. No stewards or police in place at any stage of this journey to provide directions or security. I dread to think of the potential for violence if a load of noses had congregated on that industrial estate in wait. There were elderly and young children doing that walk which was completely unneccessary. All police had to do was advise home fans that access to Witton station and Witton Lane would be restricted after the game and people could have planned accordingly.
  12. The club themselves could do more in this regard. Our entrance music is poor, there is little attempt to get the crowd fired up prior to kick off. They've managed to upset the Brigada 1874 in the lower holte, banned flags/banners and missed an opportunity to have a dedicated signing section. It's almost as if the club no longer trusts the fans to behave after the WBA pitch invasion which, ironically invasion aside was probably the best atmosphere seen at Villa Park last season and definitely contributed to an uplift in performance.
  13. At this stage I'd pay N'Zogbia to disappear and give his place in the 25 man squad to Adebayor. In reality we'd probably find a loan move for Gardner or Senderos in the championship IF this were to happen. Thought he didn't want to leave London though?
  14. i refuse to believe that. I said a few pages back that he's about our level right now, so no surprise we've asked. If it's been turned down its because Palace need funds and only interested in a permanent deal. We can read into that there are no more funds. Timmy is spent up unless someone suddenly leaves this morning. So freebies or loans it is folks.
  15. Jonathan Walters handed in a transfer request at Stoke. Hope we don't get involved with that one!
  16. He apparently wanted £100k/week wages plus a goal bonus of £90k which is why West Ham didn't proceed. No chance we'd have agreed to that either, even if we were interested.
  17. Confirmed by Dundee he's there on loan until January.
  18. ??? Evans has already signed and been pictured with their shirt.
  19. Still think we'll end up with an underwhelming addition from Palace who need to sell a couple of places to avoid FFP trouble. Campbell or Gayle most likely. At this stage I'd be absolutely delighted with Adebayor or Austin, neither of which I've been that keen on up until now!
  20. Got no choice has he? What's the alternative, can't ostracise him after making him 'club captain' (whatever that means) and knows he won't be able to sell him in the next 24 hours. I doubt Tim's any more happy about what Gabby has put on social media than Gabby is with what the fans are saying tbh.
  21. Absolute beast. When he clattered himself against the post he was strong enough and intelligent enough to haul himself back up so he wasn't receiving treatment instead of defending the imminent corner. Really impressed with him yesterday and on the showings so far the correct choice for captain too.
  22. If ever there was a time for Ayew to step it up a gear it's today.
  23. Be interesting to see if he even makes the bench tomorrow. It would be convenient for a sickness bug to hit Bodymoor Heath at a time when Gabby has reacted to the fans on social media. What's the betting he's suddenly not well?
  24. I think you an simplify that a bit mate, if an offer came in that suited Aston Villa, it would be best for him to go. If he's truly loyal and Tim was to say to him look I could really use that 4 million quid from Brighton to strenthen "other areas" then it would be the right thing for him to do to move on. If however the club deems him more valuable than what anyone is willing to pay for him, which seems to be the situation at present, then I have no problem with him staying. I do have a problem with him starting on recent form, but he has scored some big big goals for us over the years and if he regains some form he can still be an asset to the squad. Disagree, it would have to suit Gabby based on the wages he's picking up. Hypothetically speaking, even if a club offered £6m right now unless they backed it up with £60k a week he'd just turn it down. Look at Dwight Gayle at Palace and the offer from Bristol City. Gabby can't afford to make the wrong decision IF he was to move, he's at the stage of his career where he still has a lot to offer the right club. Whether that's us or someone else will play out over the rest of this season imo.
  25. He's been a loyal servant to Villa over the years and nobody can take that away from him but based on his form of the last few seasons (playing out of position, or not) he's just not good enough. If an offer came in that suited him and his family to go and start a fresh challenge then I genuinely think it would be in everybody's interest now.
