  1. Not sure what to say about him. By no means I think he is shite. He's obviously a very talented player but he is clearly missing something at the moment. That little injury he had just knocked his momentum and since then his confidence has been shot. No idea whether it's purely down to his confidence, our tactics or the opposition but he's just not offering enough.
  2. I'm not sure we will, but feel we could do with going full strength. We seem to not be quite on it when we have a bit of a break between games on the return. Hopefully this would get a bit of rust out the system before Newcastle.
  3. I saw this on twitter earlier. Supposed leaks for Elite club Trefoil jackets (does have a Roma one too) Not so sure of the Juve one but a Claret and Blue one would potentially look good.
  4. Just posted about it in the general officiating thread, was probably better in here but the transparency is awful. What was that about? We've seen the lines since but at no point did they seem to show that in their workings that we could see or at least couldn't match the pass and where he was when it was played. Then they moved on to something else and spent a while looking at a non issue.
  5. Again the transparency is awful. Not seen if there has been more coverage of the disallowed goal, and have seen the lines that were shown after the decision. At no point from what we saw on TV we could see them make that decision and why if that was decided that did they start looking at the following play? As the pundits said, maybe it could be called a foul before even looking at offside. With claret and blue tinted glasses both were as bad as each other but you could see why that may be called a foul.
  6. Yes they've shown the lines but was that when the ball was played? you can't see from what they showed. Through their working it looked like they couldn't work it out, then started looking at whether Lenglet was blocking keepers view (he wasn't) Why would they even look at that if it had already been determined off side? It's another case for hearing their workings. Not calling conspiracy but it doesn't help with their transparency.
  7. The ones they've done recently have looked pretty poor and half hearted. Leeds and Argentina came to mind but there's been a few. There has been some quality Gazelles out though so so just seems to be these club edition ones that dont hit the mark. Whether I'd see Villa ones differently, who know.
  8. Yeah like most very big brands they have a lot of of crap that could be considered Chavy but they have some very decent stuff if you like sports/casual wear and we are talking a manufacturer for a football club. I do say this as a bit of an Adidas fan, particularly trainers but some clothing. I've just nipped to the shop in adidas trainers, coat and an adidas inspired hoodie. As a Villa fan while on one hand it's my favourite brand. I'm not particularly sure I like the 3 stripes on the clubs sleeves, in a sort of sacrilege way. Which is a bit of a contradiction as the stripes themselves I often like on the clothing. Ultimately I rarely buy a shirt though and looking forward to some of the possible training/leisurewear and its win-win if we're getting a good deal financially.
  9. He probably couldn't believe his luck. A way to get out of a contract that he thinks he could get better, timed with performances on the pitch giving even more potential for revenue. Although you can hear the social media meltdown down now. That it's August and the new kit is still not available to buy.
  10. Emery's timing of subs is usually pretty good. I think the Ramsey/Zaniolo Bailey/Diaby switches came too late. Things didn't change too much with the switch but at 2-1 it needed something.
  11. I think when he was sold, there was a compulsory buy back if they get relegated. What do we reckon that means? I presume it's not the full buy back, so what we paid or a bit more? It certainly made sense at the time and covers us losing a potential loss of a chunk of money depending on that situation. Still no better off on how good he is. Not many strikers would have much success at Sheffield Utd. Still not convinced he's got a good enough off the ball game but still hard to tell. How does his value hold after this season? And where will that leave us with FFP?
  12. As I said when I suggested Torres playing in midfield to replace Kamara. Sometimes while you can see how it may work, I also would say any of his attacking positives just wouldn't happen if he played further forward. If we were to play negatively against a tough team, maybe. I don't think it would a consideration though, last half an hour in a game maybe. Not from the start of a game though.
  13. I think somewhat it was his gamesmanship. No problem with him making a meal of Maupay's challenge. Don't really have a problem with his niggle at Maupay that instigated the chaos either. Trying to drag him off the ground pushed it a bit far and he probably lost his head a little then.
  14. I don't think he is going on loan at all and do very much think he can play his part as a back up when required. However I do worry about temperament. Some of his challenges coming off the bench are inspiring to the crowd and somewhat the team but also a red card waiting to happen. Nothing today suggested that and if he had the responsibility from the start it could mean he played a little different, but if we would struggle without Watlins we would certainly struggle without both of them for a few games.
  15. Yeah that would be the question mark but any less than Dendocker? Perhaps Douglas Luiz plays deeper. Who played there in his suspension, I can't remember?
  16. I doubt it will happen, but to play how we do with Kamara I can only see Torres as a direct replacement for Kamara in his role. No one else could do it similar. Never normally a fan of centre backs playing as a DM or full backs as wingers as even if they have the attributes, It loses something in why they have those attributes. I just feel it would keep our style of play. As I say I don't think it would happen and also if he's not took a knock himself might be out the question anyway.
  17. Not seen a great replay and i know others have said definite red but did seem a bit harsh? It looked a push around the collar bone. There was at least one push by a Brentord player a few inches lower.
  18. I'm far from an expert apart from having had the op myself but while there will be different grades to the ligament damage, I'm not sure the operation would be any different. The ligament would need to be replaced with a new graft however badly it was damaged as the ACL can't regenerate. Recovery as you say would be difficult to diagnose, all depends on having the right plan and the patients body and its ability to recover. Its not even just the ligament. I'm not sure what they favour for athletes but my graft was from my hamstring (which is typical) there are artificial ones and from the patella. So the hamstring needs to repair and then what I found hardest was building my quad up again after it losing its muscle memory and that's obviously an important part of leg strength and stability to avoid damaging the knee again.
  19. There's Villa fans that will have bought travel for our games before being guaranteed a ticket. Maybe they would be hopeful to get one but certainly if we had an allocation cut, there would be plenty travelling without a ticket, flights would be booked as soon as the fixture was announced. My only european away against Slavia Prague, I was far from being guaranteed a ticket and no doubt should we get there, semis and final there will be loads going with little chance of a ticket. That's not saying they would kick off though and the club would absolutely arrange to make sure the correct people got the tickets and be in dialogue with the opposition and also to fans without tickets to help with a smooth operation. I don't think our fans would try on mass to gain entry. Depending on access systems no doubt a few would try to get in. That's not any excuse for what happened. Maybe raises a question of whether it was right to reduce allocation if it was known another 1000 were still coming. However there was talk of 3000+ turning up, that's still 1k more than they would have had allocated anyway. So would it have changed anything?
  20. It does make them very culpable, especially going with Villa's statement of them not able to have any dialogue with them. I did wonder how they were allocating their tickets. You see Ultras often have some power within clubs and get some tickets to sell/distribute themselves. Which in itself could have caused disorder with some. Not knowing if they had a ticket but were expecting one, plus the ones that were never going to be able to get one. However if that's how it happened, then that's even worse as it does have a sense of encouragement from the club.
  21. I didn't see too much. Apart from the sound, smoke and flares flying over where they were held. I did see one or two injured police being brought into the main car park from the battle zone. After the game, there were a few pockets of poles. Most were drunk and still drinking but not bothering anyone. On the way up to Tesco, there was a lump of a pole that I think picked off a Villa fan a little behind me. I only saw him taking his shirt off as he ran away, but someone said he was wearing a Villa shirt to blend in and decided on a target, hit and ran away. He was wearing workwear trousers so possibly lives here and turned up after work or just a bad fashion sense.
  22. Was reading this earlier, seems a strange clause to have in there. The wording I saw was playing in the same division rather than if promoted but effectively the same. No wonder it took a while to be ironed out. I wonder what details actually are in there. If he is highly sort after and they don't go up, if the buy back can't be triggered and we don't want to pay the going rate, you'd like to think there was a decent percentage of the transfer fee due our way. In an ideal world, Hull go up and then we give him some time with them in the Premier league to see how he does.
  23. I think it could prove very important that he got it. There was a big risk we could have missed both him and Douglas Luiz against one of Arsenal or Man City. Injuries or sendings off aside at least there's only the risk now of one being missing. Obviously if Bournemouth get into our midfield and we lose a game that we will be favourites, then it backfires a bit, but it is the most ideal option ahead if those 3 games (apart from no yellows, which was unrealistic)
  24. A bit of a contradiction as he's just be named best keeper in the world, but he is so under rated! Likely because he winds people up etc so fans of other teams just have a dislike to him so don't or won't see actually how good he is.
  25. Not advice as such but can share my experience of a couple of things that happened with regards to my 6 year old. Firstly there is one girl in her class who has a mum that has no control or particular care of what she does (she is very different when it's her dad with her) Anyway she is friends with my daughter but can be quite controlling. She can be mean and when my daughter goes to play with someone else she then tries to stop whoever she goes to, from playing with my daughter and she's come home and said she didn't have anyone to play with. We have had chats with our daughter about what she should do and checked with her teacher to see what her friendship groups were like. They didn't have a particular concern. We did try to get a daughter to keep away from her all the time but it was impossible as they did gravitate to each other. It does seem to have settled down this year and my daughter now has a bit of a different friendship group. So it's naturally worked out well. On the subject of speaking to a parent. This was a different parent from another class. My wife over heard her calling my daughter a bully at a party. Which really upset her. When my wife came home in tears I went to towards where they lived in the hope of seeing her and asking why? Ultimately that ended bad as she is a fruit loop. Afterwards I apologised if my presence intimated her, however I did not shout, insult her or aggressive in way (which is the complete opposite of her) Neither me or the wife like confrontation (especially her) and neither the best socially however I will stand up for what is right and wrong. As I said I apologised if she felt intimidated. I don't think there was ever a good time of place but felt i needed to say something. There is also zero chance of my daughter being a bully even with any bias. I'm sure she's not perfect and has an 11 year old sister to learn to hold her own with but bullying is not in her nature at all. So advice wise, I'm not sure? Probably would be good to speak to the school first to get their opinion first of all. The concern is probably that the child's big brother has got involved which possibly means that there has been some conversation at their home, whether that involves the parents or not? And what that girl has said in regards to that. In terms of speaking to another parent. Some will listen to what others have to say. Some will absolutely not! What ever you have to say.
