  1. Maybe he'll have a few more chances today with Lansbury playing. Prove us wrong, Gabriel.
  2. Hopefully he's injured. Madness not to have him involved if he's not.
  3. I think they do because I'm sure cup games count as serving your ban (domestically). Could be wrong but that's what I led myself to believe.
  4. I have preferred Prosecco over Champaign for years, before it was cool or whatever. Some people drink Carling without being dared...
  5. The Bristol game being off is brilliant. 19 games left, that's 57 points up for grabs and now with at least one midfielder who can create and score, more than likely 2, then there's no reason to give in. It sounds a lot of points to make up but with these midfield additions the whole goal threat changes completely, not just goals from midfield but more from the forwards too. The defence is pretty sound in terms of goals conceded. I know everybody hates Hutton but with Lansbury and potentially Connor, we have players who could utilise his energy up and down the flank. His end product can be poor but Hutton makes a lot of good runs that don't end up in a pass and leave him isolated and scrambling back as a result. I'd stick with Hutton until the end of the season (not against Bree coming in though).
  6. Of course they do. If we signed Dwight Gayle, his goals from Newcastle would still count towards his goal tally for the campaign.
  7. I know it's difficult when the on pitch displays aren't great but it works the other way too. Raising the noise levels when little is going on can push players on. There's no real reason why it can't be noisy thoughout the game rather than at kick-off/winning a corner. 12th man. Inspire, motivate, etc. A hushed atmosphere raises the tension and no doubt that translates onto the pitch. The players need to do their bit but the whole point of fans is to get behind the club when it's needed the most.
  8. I think the Wesley Schnieder one was about 300 (billion). I was crushed as it seemed on, even though it defied any logic.
  9. Why would Cleverly have picked us over PL football? Matt Ritchie is an exception, not the rule.
  10. You could argue that over his 12 games we've been on par with the front-runners.
  11. He's lucky to get yet another chance but if he carries on working hard off the ball then I won't complain and he'll be a decent option in the squad but he needs to step it up further and progress, not think he's done the hard work now he's lost excess weight be shouldn't have had in the first place. I would have Gabby on the wing though and Kodja through the middle if he is going to persist with Gabby playing. Maintain/step up the effort further and people will struggle to complain but I'm not convinced just yet. Too many false dawns but if he is to get some form back I think it will be because of Bruce's management.
  12. Absolutely brilliant to watch this Villa team at times now. Fitness was a huge issue under RDM and it cost us so many points yet it never improved. Bruce mentioned it after his first game and did it was an easy fix. Speaks volumes for his experience and ability to address issues as tonight Villa were tireless. Absolutely night and day from pre-Bruce in a short period of time. Hopefully the doubters can realise the good he's doing. He's never got the good rep he deserves. If he was Portuguese and handsome and did the exact same jobs he's done previously I suspect he'd have been given a shot with a club chasing European football but he's not fashionable and some (too many) people focus on that rather than his ability. He's not the messiah but he's smart enough to see what the majority of the fans see and whilst I think Gabby is lucky to get another chance I appreciate Bruce's reasoning and I also feel comfortable that if Gabby abuses Bruce's trust he won't remain in the team or squad.
  13. I know the Russians need some diversity awareness treatments but having the African Cup of Nations in Russia is a recipe for disaster! I don't even want to imagine it!
  14. 10 points at this stage of the season is nothing. Teams go on little runs and suddenly find themselves in there. 2 wins on the trot and the whole feeling can switch just like that.
  15. Good interview that and I don't understand the boring jibes I've read. He's always had personality, a witty sense of humour whilst also speaking sense.
  16. Same old posters with the same old negative crap. Bruce is a perfect fit for Villa at this time for the some purpose of getting back into the PL and the ££££££'s that go along with it. What do people care if he's sacked in the PL if Villa are back in there. Gambling on wildcards who may not get Villa there would be a far riskier appointment. Anybody saying they would take more seasons in the Championship to 'develop' are taking rubbish, they are the same posters slagging off the club and players on a weekly/daily basis. If Bruce suave, nicely dressed and wasn't butt ugly with his record of promotions from this league then more people would be raving for him. People are that fickle. The same people bringing up his poorer signings won't mention his good ones and if his signings were all that bad he wouldn't have won so many promotions. Take your head out of your backsides.
  17. I don't think Westwood is that good but he's not as terrible as made out either. He's just very 'meh' and not in a quietly doing your job effectively way unfortunately. Sick to death of modern football fans views though in the main. Too large a majority are spouting off in extremes when usually the truth is somewhere in the middle. A player doesn't have to be deemed great or garbage. I think we should/could find better but he's a steady player, just not with any qualities that make him stand out to warrant a place in the starting line up of a team trying to win promotion.
  18. Oh man, my soul is torn to shreds. Poor little fecker.
  19. If these 8 outfield players were playing for Villa last season I would think they'd have put up a much better fight of staying in the Premiership. Plenty of them have been successful in the Championship (putting it lightly) with a decent number holding their own in the Prem. The early results haven't been all that but the squad building is pretty damn promising to me. It smacks of logic, common sense and quality.
  20. It's not a rumour but I would go after Kahzri on loan from Sunderland. Moyes isn't playing him. Last season when he came in for Sunderland he was quality.
  21. Truth be told, I am a Wrexham fan first and foremost as my hometown team. Little came in with zero fight and was terrible (he was my hero growing up as Villa manager and I used to send him letter after letter in the post with replies at times). He let Matty Done leave at around 20 years old when he took Wrexham into the Conference, 95% of fans loved Done and saw his potential and he has gone on to have a good career in the football league when deemed not good enough in the Conference under Little. Little was ace in the 90's for Villa with the 4th place finishes but I can assure you that doesn't count for very much in this day and age in the PL. I will always love Brian Little but he's a shell of the 90's Villa hero. After Wrexham he went to Gainsborough Trinity where he had a ton of money compared to most in the league yet struggled to even get in the top half of the table if memory serves me right. It's not what people want to hear but Brian Little having a big influence in decision making nowadays is not something to cheer about imo. Times have changed, the game has changed.
  22. Black comes across very well there and good on him for removing Agbonlahor from the equation, whilst also putting down a reporter in 1 minute. Brilliant.
