  1. Fair enough but his unilateral binning of the vote on the new badge is a disgrace for me. He has deliberately sabotaged the new badge for his own reasons. The club badge is the symbol of the club. The brand. It should be 100%. We just about have the worst branding imaginable - two different designs everywhere FFS. The way it has been communicated too has been a joke.
  2. Gold, as in the 90s badge, yeah. Fine. The problem is the Lerner badge is a horrid, pale yellow on light blue.
  3. Johnny Come Lately Heck doesn't like it so it is binned off. Booooo.
  4. I am a big fan of Konsa. Since Project Restart he has been very solid for us.
  5. He is my favourite player of the 2019-23 era, the Villa resurgence.
  6. The Mings injury was a gut punch. It bothered me far, far more than the scoreline against Newcastle did. Honestly think we are already a point or two lower than we would be with him in the team.
  7. Or consult, agree something and then completely do a 180 degree turn on it.
  8. Antic, the manager of A. Madrid was a Luton ex player. I think.
  9. Charming. This man ripped up the new badge that Villa fans, very publicly, chose after a lengthy consultation process and now, is turning the Holte Suite into a more exclusive hospitality area than it was. Anyway, I don't appreciate your tone and wonder why I bother.
  10. As I said somewhere else Villa Park was always immaculate. It would be spotless, and John Gregory once said if a coat hanger was broken of a Friday it would be fixes by Saturday morning. Disappointed they are letting this happen.
  11. If you think the North Stand isn't on track that is hugely disappointing. Already 12 months behind schedule as it is.
  12. One thing about villa was that the stadium was always immaculate- John Gregory said as much in one of his podcast interviews - we were a Club with class and, even though things might be bad on the pitch we usually got it right off the pitch (usually). It does, increasingly, feel ad though we have finally cracked the football side of the operation and are getting that right but have taken our eye off the ball with the off the pitch stuff. The pricing, even for retro gear, is ridiculous, and thread after thread here shows issues at Villa Park that they don't seem to be addressing. Maybe certain things are on hold until the redevelopment starts? Either way, they need to improve.
  13. Brand is a scumbag and of course all the wannabe little fascists will be out defending him.
  14. Came to say similar. His goals are so like Benteke's. And Benteke, as someone else said, exploded into form quite suddenly.
  15. Has anybody ever done a version of the Lerner badge with a claret lion instead of a yellow one??
  16. I wish we would just stick to what we wanted to do rather than ditch it because it isn't like all the other 'in things' of this moment (which will probably be out of fashion by the time we implement it). Nothing screams self confidence in our brand like chicken ingredients out of our approved new design, going with two different badges for a season, and on top of that experimenting with stand alone lions that look different again.* So much to be positive about but this is a mess. *obviously being sarcastic about it screaming self confidence
  17. Wasn't Clint Dempsey close to signing around the time Benteke came in?
  18. In Little Villan, published in 1996, Little referenced a player that would be signing but didn't think he named him. I assumed it was Curcic!
  19. I am a bit surprised by the lack of comms on the badge situation and the new north stand. Whatever else you say about him Purslow always was excellent on communicating decisions.
  20. Wow, what a document to have. Incredible. Apparently, if the calendar year 1998 was a premier league season we would have won it. We ended 97/98 so strongly and started 98/99 the same. The less said about the year 1999 the better (ended 98/99 abysmal and were steugfling at the half way point of 99/00 before rallying in December).
