    Developed a soft spot for Fiorentina watching Serie A on Channel 4 when I was a kid. Used to love watching Batistuta, Rui Costa, Gomes etc. This liking for them was reignited when watching them in the CL and during a holiday in which I fell in love the the city of Florence. Would love to go over and watch a game there one day

    I would love Prandelli. His Fiorentina team were incredible, and I dont think he is out of our reach, needs to patch up his reputation after his spell with Italy

    Lots saying that Benteke should have walked away. He did. Mason barged him in the back and then put his head in. It would take a bigger man than me or most others to simply walk away from provocation like that.

    I think it's obvious that Lambert wants him, if we didn't get him I reckon it would be down to Lerner. Or maybe Holtby just fancies going back to his home league and is not interested in coming to another relegation favorite who is likely to quibble over the cost of his wages? Have you not seen Hamburg recently? Only survived by the skin of their teeth last season.

    No reason why we can't win it. We are no worse than Swansea when they won it and we have shown that we can beat the big teams on our day.

    My first game was the infamous 3-1 win over United that spawned Alan Hansen's famous quote about kids. Makes me think I need to get to the next home game against them!

    I think we should really judge this result after the hull game next week. If we win that and end up with 7 points from our first three games it won't look too bad a result against a decent team. Lose next week and it looks like a poor result and 3 points squandered

    Really? I am quite staggered that anyone could give RL credit for spending peanuts! It is sweet FA to do with him. Until the day he actually signs over control of Villa to someone else, the running of the football club is everything to do with Lerner. So I agree that he does deserve a bit of credit for the work that has gone on this summer

    The thing with the Arsenal result last season was that it felt like a freak result, with penalties and a dodgy red card. The win at stoke however felt like the result of a team coming together. Coupled with off field developments, this gives me cause for a very cautious form of optimism. Roll on Saturday!

    I'm going to guess that Hutton will be playing more than 1 game this season. As for a new contract, who knows? I don't see why he won't stay if he has a good season

    Really pleased he had a good game yesterday. Will have given him a massive boost ahead of the next few games. I'm not expecting him to be incredible 100% of the time but a few more performances like that over the season will see him right.
