Yep hence why we are also part of what's wrong with the club. The fact is we all want to be back in the top 6. Any manager that comes in and doesn't achieve that in a week is a clueless Muppet. Nobody wants to accept the realism of where we are, anyone that does is labeled as being dumb and having lowered expectations. Whilst Lerner is only giving this much financial backing, there is no quick way out, no magic man to come in. It's long term. I fully except the realism of our situation. I just hope that once we come out of these dark days there will be a bright future. I can see why Lerner would cut the spending back to get the club on a more stable financial footing. Hopefully he will be in a position to invest again soon.

Gutted for him. Had a frustrating season and this just caps it off. I just hope Gabby and Weimann can step up and grab us a few goals in the next few games

I can see us struggling. We never seem to play well against Fulham and the pressure will be high after the last two games. I would like to see Lambert make some changes in the starting XI. Drop Gabby and Weimann, they haven't brought anything to the team for a while now. Give Albrighton and Tonev a start, they should both be hungry to prove themselves and I feel they could give Fulhams's old boys a few problems. I'd be loathe to drop Benteke as he does have goals in him, but another performance like yesterdays would be unacceptable. Delph, Westwood and KEA in midfield, looking for the most part like a decent midfield unit. Lowton, Vlaar, Baker and Bennett in defence.

How many games need to be lost due to poor defending before the defence is sorted? Benteke didn't really help either but it seems that our defence can't seem to do the basics right. Vlaar looks worryingly out of form, Clark is awful, Baker slightly better but still rubbish. It's quite embarrassing how easy we seem to make it for other teams to score

I just don't get all the Lerner bashing. He spent a lot when MON was in charge and where did it get us? When MON left Lerner panicked and when were left with Houllier, whom he allowed to spend 24m on Bent. When Houllier had to go Lerner panicked once again and also realised that the wage bill needed to be brought under control and the club needed to be financially sound, which is where we find ourselves now. There are a lot worse owners out there, look at Leeds and Pompey!

Either Benteke had a storming World Cup and we sell him for 20m+ or he doesn't and we keep him. There will be other strikers that would be less risky for the bigger clubs

Didn't Tim Sherwood get slated for attacking his players after the Chelsea defeat. I don't think a good manager will criticize players too harshly in publicafter a defeat,no matter how bad the performance.

Hi. I'm a 25 year old villa fan. I've been a fan since I was about 6 following a misguided attempt at glory supporting! Don't get to games really, although I have a 2 year old son who I shall be introducing to the wonderful life of a villa fan soon. Looking forward to having some good chat on here.
