  1. I don't know if Kevan still reads this thread, I assume he does? I know he said he won't be posting once Jack was in the first team though. I was just thinking what it must be like for the family at the moment, pride mixed with excitement I suppose. It's looking like he could get an FA Cup final start soon, and be part of an international set up. Amazing. Did Kev ever say which way he thought Jack would go, England or Ireland?
  2. Ha! I never really thought about it, of the last few years I suppose quite a few have struggled, except for Müller and Acorns are doing ok. Cadburys are Kraft now, they should be ok hopefully.
  3. I'd pay that £8m now without any hesitation, not that we need to now since he's out of contract in the summer.
  4. Ha ha! Team it up with that 'sailor' looking away kit and we're away!
  5. Anything on Cleverleys gardner? What about Gardner's Gardener? Just kidding mate. If that's what you've heard then fair enough.
  6. Played really well today. I am really fond of Jack, for a few reasons I thjnk, but principally among these it's because he feels like he's 'ours', because he's a local lad and a villa fan. I've been trying to separate the sentimentality of how fond I am of him, from the real quality he undoubtably has. I was trying to think; if he was 20/21, and signed from a league 1 side, would I still think he was as good? And I have to say, yes, I think I would. He's very good, and not just because I like him; he's objectively good. I, along with most of us, and seemingly the players, seem to be rooting for him too. I even like the 'super, super jack' song, even if it is a bit memorable of marc albrighton. Marc had a song and threw it all away!
  7. Chuffed with the 3 points, it's nice to feel a LOT of the pressure taken off now. Probably Hull for the chop I would think, unless they win one, and Newcastle or Sunderland don't win any (3 in Sunderlands case). I thought we played well in the first half, the crowd were buoyant and that seemed to lift the players. Second half and they looked more like an Allerdyce team; tough to break down and winning back possession more. But I think we did well enough, if we'd been behind at that point we would've played differently I think. Good to see Gabby and hutton back, even though neither were particularly great. Sanchez came on too, out of 3-4 touches 2-3 were mis-kicked. But he didn't have long to get in to the game to be fair. Really enjoyed the game despite the nerves!
  8. I reckon the line up will be: Given Bacuna Vlaar Okore Hutton Cleverley Westwood Delph Gabby Grealish Benteke I think that is a stronger team than any West Ham can field today, their defence has been injury hit too, so Benteke could run riot.
  9. Feeling a little more optimistic that I was earlier this week, if we really pressure then I reckon we can win this. 2-1 Benteke and Gabby...
  10. I bloody love that stat. I know it's hard (as others have said quite correctly) to extrapolate Tim's part of this season over a whole season. But I'm very optimistic about next season, and for me, optimism and hope are key parts of being a supporter. You always need to feel that ''maybe we could" feeling, which was absent under Lambert, certainly towards the end of his tenure.
  11. Really like the White/navy hooped kit. It is a bit sailor-ish/pizza express kitchen worker, but I thinks it's great! Would be happy for that away kit, might not look so good with a sponsor though.
  12. Why on earth would Jack want a loan deal to wolves when he's in the Villa starting XI? We don't need/want to loan him, and jack has no need (or presumably desire) to go.
  13. My mate lives nearby and goes (or went once) to one called The Lord Clifden, http://thelordclifden.comit has screens and shows sport I believe. Not been myself but heard it's ok. Worth a try? Edit: I'm pretty sure they only show legit football channels, so sky and btsport etc., I doubt they'll be screening any 3pm games. You might get lucky though.
  14. I think Tim will go for Gabby in for N'Zog (although N'Zog has been good lately) and Sinclair on the bench... Not saying that's what I'd do though.
  15. At VP tomorrow for this, I'm really excited. Come on Villa!
  16. I'm not sure mate, someone else will likely know, but there was talk of Tom Fox negotiating a sponsor which "related to our history as a club" or something, so perhaps they'll get a local business... I know we've all wished for it, but cadburys would be amazing!
  17. Totally agree, the black looks ace. Would love that as an away kit, I even like the subtle claret swirls. Nice work.
  18. Home looks great Imarsha, I prefer the black away kit to the yellow one. As someone else said it looks like Sweden kit. I always prefer round neck shirts, rather than the v neck or polo neck type ones. Not had a round neck since the Nike/acorns kit.
  19. Perhaps he's got a future with Villa, I hope I'm proved wrong, but I just don't think he's quite good enough. Tim might think differently, give him a run in the side, and boost his confidence. We shall see.
  20. Is it £4m for all PL clubs, or is it based on a % of turnover? Because surely that would then cap any new player's, to any club's, wages to £75k... I must've misunderstood.
  21. I think Tim's first few signings this summer will answer a lot of questions. Not just about Tim but about Lerner's financial backing, his ambition in general, and the scouting system at the club. A lot of Journos are linking us, probably lazily, to Spurs or ex-Spurs players. I wonder if that will play out in the end.
