  1. Hated Kingsman to be honest.

    Drugs

Just remembered some interesting times on Magic Mushroom in Amsterdam. Now that's a hell of a drug. I remember having to convince our mate not to go and speak to the receptionist of the hotel to confirm everything was real.
  3. Yeah it definitely worked for me, I think the simpler a film the more I enjoy it recently. Have a clear story or idea that needs to be portrayed, execute it simply but with some style and try to do it with as few characters as possible. Leave exposition out of it which is generally the only reason for too many characters in one film, a good story should speak for itself. Ex machina definitely ticks most of those boxes.
  4. Ex machina. 2 firsts for me, Oskar Isaac and Alicia Vikander, both were good in this and Alicia is a proper hotty! Very good debut from the director and I can't wait to see more from him. Still thinking about the film now a couple of hours later and that's the sign of a very good film to me. 8/10
  5. Ya I really thought it would kick on this year but no joy, best episode of the season so far though.
  6. Silicon Valley was good this week but I can't help feeling they have compromised this season with a view to extending the show later on. Not much has happened so far and its quite irritating knowing its another year to wait for things to really kick into gear.
  7. Not sure i agree with that, as we have already said most people are affected by cancer at some point, that means the researchers working on cures all the way up to the directors at the top of the company have probably all had to deal with it, surely money doesn't come into it when your loved ones are dying from this disease?
  8. Agreed on chappie, didn't think it could be that bad but it really was, such a shame as it had the ability to be a classic either by copying short circuit but for the 21st century or going down the darker route. In the end it chose neither and became a horrible mess. Pretty certain District 9 was a fluke now.
  9. Both good to be fair, fallout 3 probably the better game but NV slightly newer and better graphics etc...
  10. You lucky git.
  11. Genuine question here, do those untouched tribes hidden away suffer from cancer or not? Or is it that they don't live long enough to get it because something else treatable in the modern world gets to them first? I genuinely believe its all the pollution and random shit in nearly everything we eat (additives/preservatives etc) that causes so much of it.
  12. Plus I doubt they'd have a decent porter or stout on either. Said nobody young and cool ever.
  13. I love the fact that you did a cowboy job on your own property!
  14. Watched a bit of gogglebox yesterday, pretty much the first time ever. It was.....ok. I think it helped that everything they were watching I hadn't already seen, otherwise it would have been another re-cap of the week that I didn't need. Best person was the oldish bloke with the woman, he reminded me of Peter Gregory from Silicon Valley with his deadpan delivery.
  15. It was good for 2-3 series but now its just a platform for wannabes to get their 5 minutes. The producers are as much to blame because they never get normal people anymore, get the housemates right and it would be good again.
  16. If people think Mayweather is boring I bet they can't wait for Ward to get back into the ring.
  17. FWIW I didn't actually care for the first one that much. The second one is incredible!
  18. but...but...people are getting bored of them! Watched the Raid 2 tonight. The first one was okay, but a bit stupid. This one was just plain bad. What kind of madness is this? The Raid 2 was on my top 10 films of last year, i came out of the cinema exhausted after this relentless thrill ride. This is how you do an action movie, so visceral in the fights and the car chases, it raised the bar for me.
  19. I'm pleased to say I'm finally righting some wrongs in my film watching career thanks to Film4 last night. Finally saw Dead Mans Shoes, cracking little film to be fair, glad I have finally ticked that one off. Also on straight afterwards (at 1am!) was Brazil which I also have never seen, recorded that and will be watching at some point over the coming days.
  20. i don't care if the avengers 5 makes 300 billion dollars, I certainly won't be watching and nobody will tell me it's any good.
  21. It Follows. Firstly what a cracking sound track, loads of nostalgic synth, definitely helped the atmosphere in the film. It was an enjoyable film and definitely felt like something slightly original (which is always a bonus in the horror genre), Maika Monroe is good again (having seen The Guest earlier in the year) although the role is not exactly demanding, i see she is slated for some big films in the next 12 months so we might see a bit more of her acting chops soon. 7.5/10 for me.

    Hell Is...

    .... A Justin Bieber concert.
  23. He's got kind of an odd face, which is good, is young, which doesnt matter, and I've only seen him in Narnia so...my first reaction was 'oh it's that guy with the eyebrows'. Don't think he's been officially cast yet though. Excellent young actor, very good in Wild Bill and Son of Rambow and from what i've read he's great in Glassland too (that's on my to-watch list). The age thing is interesting. I wonder if they'll make him up much older or keep it similar to his actual age? I thought i recognised that name. Lee Carter!
  24. Boring fight, as expected. Manny hasn't been the same since Marquez knocked him out, the warning signs were there when he couldn't even finish off Algieri. 118 - 110 for me. Floyd could fight again next week if he wanted.
  25. Grealish slotting seamlessly into our team is probably the highlight of the season for me. The kid is a teenager for gods sake, what a player we have on our hands.
