  1. really? yep Scott Dann Coventry £3,500,000 01 Jul, 2009 Christian Benitez Santos Laguna £8,500,000 01 Jul, 2009 Giovanny Espinoza (mer) Barcelona S C Signed 01 Jul, 2009 Roger Johnson Cardiff £5,000,000 01 Jul, 2009 Lee Bowyer West Ham Free 08 Jul, 2009 Barry Ferguson Rangers £1,000,000 17 Jul, 2009 Gregory Vignal Lens Signed 14 Aug, 2009 Craig Gardner Aston Villa £3,000,000 26 Jan, 2010 Ben Foster Man Utd £6,000,000 18 May, 2010 Nikola Zigic Valencia £6,000,000 26 May, 2010 Enric Valles NAC Breda Signed 01 Jul, 2010 total disclosed £33 million plus of course the undisclosed ontop they got no incoming money from transfers so total outgoings of at least £33 million villa on the other hand Stewart Downing Middlesbro £12,000,000 16 Jul, 2009 Fabian Delph Leeds Signed 04 Aug, 2009 Habib Beye Newcastle Signed 07 Aug, 2009 Stephen Warnock Blackburn Signed 27 Aug, 2009 James Collins West Ham £5,000,000 01 Sep, 2009 Richard Dunne Man City £5,000,000 01 Sep, 2009 £22 million disclosed plus i would guess 15 million un disclosed? but not forgetting the little matter of £19 million extra incoming from transfers so actually we spent around £2o million , they spent £13 million or more , more than we did oooooffffffff
  2. yep, that was one of my main gripes with MON, sing BETTER than we already have and drop the ones they are better than to the bench, unfortunately MON did it the other way around and signed lots of players who never made it regualrly off the bench, and all for decent money and high wages. that sort of madness was annoying fans when he was doing it in his first summer transfer window. if we can **** collins off to sunderland or blackburn and get dann in, ideally swap collins for dann and also give them beye or heskey or both then it clears away some of the hoof and wages we should keep cuellar, we should also redo most of our decent players contracts to include an optional 12 month extension which WE can activate, so when a player does a downing, we activate the extra year and get more money for them. it seems man utd have done it with berb we need to sort this stuff out now before the rest of the semi decent players switch sides for not much money and we are still left with the same defence. having gardener in the team till the end of the season is what SHOULD happen now, it is clear that despite our shit tactics and style of hoof, there are at least 3 teams even worse so the kid needs to be given this next half season to get back up to speed, he would have been a first teamer along time ago but for nasty injuries. i see him as petrovs replacement, now through playing style but taking on the role of midfield general
  3. ? well you couldnt have been watching the villa from the sounds of your recollection after we signed darren bent? lets try the 1st game? villa 1 man city 0 or maybe the 6 other wins in the league out of the last 16 games? or the goals? 24 in 16 games or the 26 points in those 16 games the football was on the floor controlled and attacking and we were still playing with players who had insulted gordon cowans and other villa backroom staff, players who were causing disruption as they didnt like the training methods and also no doubt through GH lack of tact when comunicating with the players. the style of play was there for all to see, a game of keeping the ball, pressing the other side and trying to keep the pace at our level. it didnt work all the time but the method was used all the time becuase it is something GH believed in. while different to MON's more counter attacking more direct play it split peoples opinions, it was something we hadnt seen really since big ron. but despite people not agreeing that it was the best way of playing, at least i would have though most would have agreed there looked to actually be a certain style of play, tactics and direction? i also dont understand defending GC saying he needs to be judged on his time at our club and it is unfare to judge on his past? well people got their preconceieved ideas of his style of play due to seeing how poor his sides were set up at other clubs, saw his greatest achievment at rangers as getting to the last 16 in champions league despite only winning 2 games? or the league cup which i have already posted who they had to play in each round. i can also bet that once he did come here, most people would have actually maybe not got 100% behind him but certainly be far less vocal against him if he played any kind of decent football, or even got decent results. he has done nothing to disprove that he is hit and miss, mid table at best and only if he spents shit loads of money ( £33 million plus at scum for the 9th place). THAT is why alot of people are still against him some didnt like MON much but because he got decent results people were not anywhere near as vocal or in the numbers as is the case now. peoples opinions will only change when his anti football changes and results change from 6 wins in 22 to something which would actually resemble something half decent. so that tells you how i presume people who dont want him as managers views would change, please, tell me how a supporter of his would change their view of him? what would it take? relegation?
  4. with a team of Premier LEague rejects like phillips, Carr, Fahey, Ferguson, Ridgewell and Bowyer is pretty impressive And who signed those players? Maybe because they were the only calibre of players he could afford or would go to the club. Still, to finish 9th with a crock of shit squad is a good achievement imo. ??? he spent over 33 million pounds that year, more or less what we spent BANG.......................................wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz there goes another balloon
  5. yep, or who ever agrees to this small time championship type deal possibly gets some brown envelopes and a new car, and free use of the ski chalet and lift passes rather like a woman where i work who was supposed to sort the fleet of cars out, one luxury company offered a deal where the cars were costing 8k each for cars which start at 25k she chose another make whose cars are far more 'budget' and oddly each car cost the company 10k each weird that she always seem to be coming back from rather nice holidays and also had a brand spanking new car by the same people who the company signed with, but only after the deal was struck. hmmmmmm. or maybe macron are paying us £10 million per season and are suddenly going to not be the biggest kit manufacturers of the special brew division 6 league in wales, but instead become a well know international brand who all major retail outlets are banging at the door trying to get in on the action? bahahahahaha sorry i could not keep the bullshit up any longer. cheap and nasty seems to be the way randy is determind to have aston villa look no matter what it costs.
  6. You really think he would have been sacked at most other clubs. I don't see it apart from maybe the top 6 or 7 clubs. We finished 9th last season with a far superior squad, we are currently 11th. With haven't been in the relegation zone all season, we haven't gone through a string of half a dozen or so defeats on the trot. He has been here for 22 league games. Last season a manager with a far worse record after 22 games in charge ( 5 less points, 10 more goals conceded, 2 less goals scored ) kept his job so at the very least you'd expect that one with a better record and far less resources both in terms of personnel and transfer funds would also keep his. I'm no fan of McLeish by the way but I'd struggle to think of any club outside the top 6 or 7 who would have sacked him 22 league games after appointing him. not quite true though is it? we had no one in midfield for around 8 games unless you think playing hogg/ herd /clark as the midfield in their first season breaking into the 1st team and that was only through huge injury lists was fine? and only heskey to play upfront, and no preseason, and none of your own signings until 20th january or what ever it was? so if you actually included circumstances for the true picture, it is far clearer at how bad a job GC has done. and MON, the squad he inherited finished 9th? no they didnt, so MON had a far tougher job to do, did he have a pre season? nope, ah.... so actually even though it may show GC has got 6 wins ( woooopeeee) in 22 games which is faster than the other 2 , he has had it far far easier, add into that he also had quite possibly the easiest start to a season i can ever remember. i doubt people would be too bothered if the brand of football had some sort of structure rather than hit it as high in the air, close your eyes and then all the team charge towards the ball. if you play decent football the results normally follow, especially when you have the quality of players we have at our disposal if you play long aimless balls, have no actual footballing philosophy, are tactically inept and are relying each week on lady luck showing up in a villa kit then the results wont come, it will be hit and miss, stop start, no momentum and no chance of building the team up. GH while a publicity nightmare and also a stuborn old fool, has forgotten more about footballing tactics than GC has ever learned. MON while looking out for the players and deliberately trying to get them as much money as he could ( im sure he has publicly stated it some time ago), even to the detriment of a club, and not seemingly having much of a plan 'b , was still a great man manager who got shit players to believe they were better than they were and got them to out perform week in week out, or at least more often than not. what has GC got to bring to the table, seriously? his defence was 1 goal better than our shower of shit from last season, so defence is not his strong point, he got the scum relegated 2 times from the premier league, which should earn him a special place in our hearts, he won the league cup in a run as lucky as you can get really when they were drawn against rochdale mk dons brentford villa ( in the middle of our injury crisis) west ham and in the final, against one of the worst arsenal performances i have seen in a rather long time. but he won the cup as he can only beat the teams which are infront of him , no matter how shit they are ( although they didnt beat brentford in normal or extra time they won on pens) oh, they also lost the 1st leg of the semi finals 2-1 to west ham but what did he leave behind? a relegated clb who won the league cup. he simply has no system, no big idea, no philosophy, no prefered structured tactics, nothing. i was pissed off loads of times with GH, really by january i had enough, he then was able to get the players he wanted in the transfer window, others stopped their childish sulking and others had returned from injury. all of a sudden the passing was working, we were cutting teams up , the ball was mainly on the floor, and there was some exciting football being played, and when i say exciting i dont mean having to scrap it out against 10 men wolves who had won 2 in 18 games, i mean exciting as in attacking adventurous football where for the first time in a long time, we kept possesion of the ball and we were the ones controlling the tempo of games. his plan which he was trying to impliment was now working, he didnt have the right minded players at the start but he kept with his structure and footballing philosophy. well GC has got us playing how he wants, im seeing nothing but at best 50 / 50 fights for the ball most of the time, 5 or 10 minutes where the team seem to forget what they were told to do and they go back to playing like the end of last year, but then a team talk will come and it will have been drained out of them. we will win a few, draw several and lose more than we win, and that is because of all i have said above. im not happy to have that sort of thing for our club, i guess some people dont mind it?
  7. Keane scored 51 min, Frimpong went off 5 mins later, given that it took a good few minutes for him to get off the pitch, trainer, stretcher etc. (hence the 8 mins time added on at the end) I'd suggest you're in fantasy land, this tremendous pressure that Wolves were building between our goal and Frimpong being injured are yet another argument based on NOTHING! you've imagined it and when did happen in those few seconds you've dressed up to sound rather more grandiose that what actually happened. So the second half where Wolves were building pressure and could have scored 3 or 4 goals lasted 30 secs? a whole min? or maybe 90secs at a push i would suggest you actually read what i wrote rather than half reading it and then jumping in where you are wrong could it possibly be that i actually said we did not look like winning until henry got sent off? why yes i did, so how you come up with ahh but we scored before he got sent off?? what on earth does that have anything what so ever to do with us not looking like WINNING, i didnt say drawing did i? i said WINNING. and just like with frimpong, did i say that we were in control and scored and then when frimpong went off we looked better? or did i actual say apart from a 1 in 20 shot from keane, with frimpong on the pitch wolves were the better team. i dont give a rats arse that 5 minutes after keane had his 1 in 20 goal go in frimpong went off, for the time he was on the pitch, they were better than us apart from the fist 15 minutes and until they had frimpong off and only once henry went off did we look like we wouldnt LOSE. and did i say they could have scored 3 or 4 goals in the second half? REALLY? i dont think i did, yet more nonsense and mis reading nothing wrong with having your own opinion but at least when trying to be critical of others posts, read what was written. so take your own advise and get out of the fantasy land i suggest you are obviously in
  8. You're argument here fails because Nathan Baker was on the bench Gabby had been ill for a few days leading up to the match, it was known before the game started that he'd play barely more than a half, the gabby sub was expected, if not at HT at some point early in the second half and as I've already explained, there was a much more obvious double substitution that could have been made How do you explain us equalising when Henry and their star player Frimpong were both still on the pitch, that fact makes your assertion a bit mystic meg tbh, we were very much in the ascendancy already before either of those two incidents We could have had 3 or 4 before they'd scored their first, that argument is flawed and one sided I really enjoyed watching the Wolves match, it was far from bland Thats three lucky away wins on the bounce, one against a top four side and another in a local derby, I'm going to ask McLeish for Friday's euromillions number at this rate, lucky bastard he is... why was baker on the subs bench? becuase of illness to several other players, now while most see GC as compelely out of his depth, he did not have a choice, he tried clark it failed, he is not likely to try another young inexperienced player is he? our second goal was a 1 second shot out of nothing, it went in and was a good goal for keane, it was not exactly through masterful build up play, complete domination and so on, a hoof came in, it was cleared, a header towards kean with his back to goal outside the area keane hit it on the turn and it went in, good for him, good for us but it was a 1 in 20 shot which went in. then after that wolves started building up the pressure again, only when frimpong got injured did wolves wind start going out of their sails, we still didnt dominate or even look like we could win it, henry gets sent off and keane collects a clearance again outside the box and it goes in, another 1 in 20 shot, 19 out of 20 times it would not have resulted in a goal but it was a fantastic strike which went in. you put the ball in the same position and he wouldnt hit it like that again. i wont look a gift horse in the mouth, we got 3 very very desperately needed points, i will gladly take them any how, but i will only give credit where it is due. it was no master stroke to keep an extra defender on the pitch in clark to me it was damage limitations by the manager a forward comes off replace him with a defender. we did not out play wolves apart from the first 15 minutes of the game until we got the 3rd goal and they were down to 10 with both central midfielders off the pitch. for me at least it was a huge amount of luck and good fortune which i havent seen us have too often all coming good in 1 game ( keanes 2 long shots, an injury a sending off and an illness to one of our forwards forcing a substition which also coincided with the player playing at left back having a mare and our experienced left back being the only sensible option) nothing wrong with having luck but lets not confuse it with great calculated tactical decisions from our manager ( which at least in my opinion, it wasnt)
  9. while we won, i see it slightly differently, clark was being torn a new a-hole by kightly and something needed sorting out at left back, warnock was on the bench so was the only choice. gabby was sick at half time wasnt he? tht is the reason he came off, not for any tactical master strokes. so by taking gabby off and putting on another defender all he really did was try and plug the quite obvious gaping hole at let back. it worked only through circumstance because despite keane scoring two cracking goals, both long shots, we were still not looking like we were going to win until henry got himself sent off. i dont mind lucky subs working out fine, as i already said, bobby robson one of englands luckiest ever managers, teams he picked for tournaments always failed until forces changes through injury or sendings off brought others into the team who would stand a chance normally and then we would click and he would be hailed as a great manager despite being flukey beyond belief for england. the win against wolves should have been expected, 2 wins in 18 games or what ever it was? yet we struggled, were outplayed for 30 minutes of the first half where but through poor finishing, they could have had 3 or 4. in the second half, one shot from outside the box from keane brough tus level but we were far from looking like we had any control of the game, only when the sending off happened did i think we at least couldnt lose the game. 3 points however is 3 points, it doesnt make everything any better, it doesnt make him a better manager, he had the good fortune that gabby got ill and an obvious replacement was needed for left back and that henry was sent off. we are stuck with bland football, possibly a bit of luck here and there and mixed in with some good individual performances make provide the glitter on the turd, it is however, still a turd. with other teams grabbing unexpected points at the weekend, the pressure is still on so when we play the bottom 3 teams we really should not be jumping for joy that we scraped a win, just be grateful that this year the premier league is the weakest it has been for some time.
  10. lets see how far we can get our midfield away from our forwards, that should help wolves get another couple easy goals
  11. yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssss get in there brilliant
  12. that frimpong looks good, it is a good job we ddnt try and get a decent midfielder on loan, that may have made some sense, never mind
  13. so if we had 5 forwards on the pitch and 5 defenders and the keepr would you think that is a really attacking line up? having a proper formation, players in their correct places and proper tactics and playing style are what is important. it is wolves, who are going through a porr run, with the sqaud we have, we should easily beat them. they havent won in 10 games and have only won 2 in their last 18 games we should be expecting a comfortable 2-0 win
  14. If you're getting this angry and wound up by a little logo on the shirt, what are you like when faced with actual problems and troubles? Oh and 'YOU'RE wrong' :winkold: when im typing from my mobile phone there will be spelling mistakes, if you are getting this angry and wound up by a little spelling mistake on a fans forum, what are you like when faced with actual problems and troubles?
  15. He successfully argued 'constructive dismissal' therefore the agreed terms in which he operated were changed forcing him out - clearly that was an expensive change , but any more expensive than keeping him? Probably as we can see how far we have dropped since when he would have wanted to 'push on' We don't know how MON argued the constructive dismissal case, but it seems quite likely it was either due to a change in employment conditions (maybe the removal of some of his control such as players contract negotiations), or if Faulkner and MON had history, then it's also possible he argued that in promoting Faulkner to CEO Randy had made it impossible for him to continue. It doesn't necessarily make Faulkner responsible. what is faulkners job and can you tell me what he is responsible for? Faulkner as CEO is charged with delivering on the KPI's set by th shareholders (Randy). My point has been that as those KPI's aren't published, none of us know what his responsibilities are, and he.nce we can't judge his performance. I would imagine the only KPI will be to stop losing money. So PF will use whatever means necessary to do this. Sadly, as he clearly has limited knowledge of soccerball he cannot see that style of play, tactics and realistic ambition (along with communication) seriously impacts the clubs ability to achieve this target. The football is crap=We finish lower in the league=Fans stay away=More money is needed to bridge the deficit between profit and loss=Best players are once again sold in the summer. (Rinse & Repeat) yeah they are also my thought, so unless his key performance indicators were TO LOSE MONEY, alienate the fans, turn crowds away from watching their team, getting known throughout the footballing world for being dull uninteresting and not worth watching or showing on tv throughout the world due to the utter shit being rolled out, i would suggest he has failed.
  16. 1.your wrong 2. what is there to argue about? it is a fact, SOME of the teams? by that do you mean all but napoli? who have been in the top 5 only 1 time in the last 20 years ( it is how far i could be bothered going back so may be more) 3. how is the money there? how much merchendise are they geared up to sell? distribution? branding? is it more than nike? no , so there is NOT more money is there! 4. being the biggest fish in a pond of tampons, used condoms and floating shit is not something to be bragging about. i would rather be a small fish in the biggest pond in the world full of the worlds best thanks very much.
  17. hmm he again made several mistakes yesterday, but also again put in some good challenges and did some decent if not awsome stuff. when someone is shit i wont hide from the fact or make excuses, what i will say is that it may not help him too much when he doesnt have a left midfielder in front of him, could it make him more of a wreck when he knows he will be doubled up against in most games? i had to keep my mutterings under my breath as was watching on the laptopn with my son in the room, each and every time he **** up, however he **** up less than hutton going forwards and put in more tackles in defence, however he did nearly score an own goal and despite it not being directly his fault for their goal, he could have tried to chase (i know he thought the player was clearly off side so probably didnt think it was worth chasing). if he didnt put in some good challenges each game then i would be 100% behind the ' he is total dog dirt' side of things, sadly for me, i keep mistaking his good challenges as a sign he will snap out of the silly mistakes he makes. it also doesnt help him or anyone else that collins who just goes wandering off when ever he feels like it and then gets done when he is 30 yards away from the rest of the defensive unit leaving gaping holes. or that the midfield dont keep possession of the ball if they ever get a kncok down from one of the 200 hoooofs per game. i think a cheeky£3.5 million bid from qpr is on the way
  18. this season when he gets picked, he is being strangled by the negative tactics. yesterday being a classic example, every time the inept hutton decided he would go forwards to smash yet another crap pass straight out for a goal kick, alby was having to slot into the right back position. what they **** it that all about? against everton who had 1 up front there was NO over lapping and alby not once went at his player to beat him, again i strongly suspect he was toold not to do this and to just get the ball in from as deep as possible yesterday was all about the ginger (lunge, he did everything he could to stop everton winning so he would not have the worst ever home run from a villa manager, he did it at the cost of points for the team , entertainment, the confidence of the players, its all about him. so while alby was totally shit yesterday and he really was, i have my suspicions that 75% of that was down to being told he was only on paper a right midfielder for the game but in reality he was the second right back. watch the game again and you will see what im on about, every time h could burst forwards he stops turns and passes it back, all his crosses bar possibly 1 o 2 were from deep and most were terrible deliveries, because alby at his best runs at defenders and then hits the ball on the run rather than trying to generate accuracy and power from a standing position. let him play his position and he is a good player, not the worlds best but a talented player, play him as a second right back which no doubt will happen a few more times before randy has the guts to sack the GC, and you will see the crap side of alby, one where he is having to defend most of the time and tackle and try and jump for headers 50% of the time the ball comes near him.
  20. just **** wow the ginger c1unge strikes again 3 midfielders against everton, at home 5 defenders on the pitch a foward being played out wide midfield our star striker isolated and being given hooof balls again, with 4 players around him all the time 2 of our midfielders refuse to make any forward passes in petrov and clark and in alby, someone who has clearly been ordered under all circumstances, to not go fowards if hutton is going forwards. brilliant he deliberately set the team up to protect HIMSELF, not the club, not the players, not the fans, not to win the game but so he wouldnt have the dubious record of having the worst run of home league results EVER. he has sank even further down than he already was, i didnt think it would be possible given -8, some great saves to keep us in it hutton - 2 **** shit is complimenting him collins - 3 **** hoooooof, **** stupid free kicks, the only thing he can do is last ditch challenges where he just throws himself towards a player, and that doesnt take much skill, just luck if you connect dunne- 6 the pick of a load of **** shit warnock - 4 distibution **** awful, challenges are hit and miss some shit but also some good challenges, nealy scored ( an own goal) clark - 4 very poor today, not one forwards pass on the floor, every time he had the ball he turned back, every **** time, NOT A MIDFIELDER, he should be at the back instead of the ginger twunt. petrov 4 very poor, same as clark today, every time he got the ball, instantly turned his back on evertons goal and laid it back, even with no pressure or players anywhere near him alby -1 **** shit, you can clearly see what the orders today were, DO NOT ATTACK IF HUTTON GOES PAST THE HALF WAY LINE. DO NOT TRY AND BEAT A PLAYER, KNOCK IT INTO THE BOX OR KNCOK IT BACK TO HUTTON. well he stuck to his task and see what happens, he is having any talent beaten out of him. gabby 5 - our fastest player, the one who can make use of the hopeless aimless balls falling from the sky, because he can use his pace to try and go for a 50/50, we play him as a left midfielder. ireland - 7 i voted him man of the match, not because he was awsome but because he kept trying to play football despite half the team sticking to the GC's orders of hooof and hold behind the ball. bent -6 tricky really, yet again playing up froont 30 yards from our nearest player, having to fight it out with 4 or 5 everton players each time the ball is launched into the air, no chance of winning a ball and even if he does, what is the point, there is no one within 30 yards of him, he knows this and has the common sense to not even bother half the time as it is a waste of his effort and time. he was supported in attack probably 4 times today, 1 resulted in a goal, 1 was a great header and great save, the others ended in clearances. keane - 2 not fast enough and did nothing with the ball tactics- 0 trying to not get beaten and everything today was all about that ,not trying to win., against everton.. at home.. **** shit style of play - 5 a couple players clearly broke rank and tried to keep it on the ground but they were always scuppered by others following orders. subs used -0 it was clear the instruction to alby was a **** disgrace and alby was having a shocker, yet nothing..., it was clear hutton and collins were having a shocker and... nothing, it was clear petrov and clark in the middle was doing nothing and having zero impact yet ,,,, nothing. manager = get the **** out of my beautiful club you ginger c1unge, and take faulkner with you gary gardener, i advise you try and get a club who will play you , same for bannan. piss poor yet again, no doubt GC'S family will try and again defend the shit we are forced as villa fans to watch every single **** week.
  21. yet again alby cutting back and passing it all the way back breaking up an attack for us, well done lad the ginger clunges work is done, destroy any talent you have
