I think McCormack will be the key link between midfield and attack and needs a run of games - Bruce gambled late on today and it paid off - vital in January that he brings in the right players - onwards and upwards we go !

Think we will more than sneak into the play offs - if we had won last week we would be 5th place now and we haven't really hit top form yet - the window will benefit us and give Bruce a chance to improve things

Poor game as Wigan came to contain us and we struggled to break them down - the 3 points are the main thing though and a great winner from grealish ayew really is lucky to be starting in this team in my opinion - needs to up his game massively .

Not in the free role but he is good enough to be in the team with our current squad - we need to strengthen that area without doubt next month .

Rhm is a better option than gestede or gabby for me - get the lad on the bench .

Gestede should be an impact sub at best - kodija needs to play in the middle and we need to let McCormack play in the hole - ayew, gabby , gestede all bench players at best . gardner is not good enough to start games alongside Westwood - it's one of the other and I'd prefer Westwood to Gardner. hutton is poor at right back - we need to bring in at least 3 in January with more quality in midfield and right back - maybe Rhodes on loan as most of our strikers are not up to it . would also like better cover in goal than bunn and a back up central defender - plenty to do but promotion is still very much achievable - we need to pick up points this month and enter January in or around the top 8.

Poor tonight as were most but he's been superb in recent games - no worries about him

Hutton positioning is dreadful - surely Bruce will bring in a right back next month.

Picked the wrong team - showed Leeds too much respect - put it behind us - onwards and upwards - no doubt come may we will be above Leeds .

The aim will be to kick on with financial backing and I see no reason why Bruce shouldn't be given that opportunity - managing a financially strong villa is far different to trying to keep hull and Sunderland and blues up on a shoestring - id back Bruce to do a good job long term here .

Rdm actually brought in some good players in the summer but seemed totally clueless as to how to use them - Bruce has quickly got the best out of the team he inherited and sorted out the shambles left behind by rdm .

I'd be more than happy to sacrifice the cup this season as promotion should be the main aim - we can utilise the loan market in January if necessary for cover up front .

Indeed and if they get a couple of key injuries it could derail them .

Ayew looks good in flashes but his final ball is rarely good - I feel McCormack has more to his game with his link up play , delivery at set pieces and ability to convert chances - he has got off to a poor start at villa but rdm was clueless tactically and McCormack has rarely been available to Bruce - his chance will soon come and its down to him to take it . i will miss kodija and adomah when away in January but I don't feel ayew will be much of a loss.

I think they will miss 3 league games at worse as there are 2 fa cup weekends in the schedule .

I'd be tempted to play Bacuna ahead of Hutton especially in home games where we are expected to be on the front foot - certainly a right back is a must in January .

Indeed - - A few weeks ago a frIend of mine was adamant there was no chance villa would catch Norwich - now we are 2 points behind them with 28 games left . some may say we can't catch Brighton but who knows when a bad spell will hit a team and it's all to play for .

Westwood is a decent enough squad option but not a first team regular for me - Westwood and Hutton should be first two areas we strengthen in January .
