  1. Solid fare last night given the make-up of the squad. If only Sammon had converted his chance or St. Ledgers goal had stood!
  2. So who's silly enough then to be staying up for Ireland - Spain?
  3. A CEO on 400k, LoI prize money cut to ribbons, now a bailout is needed on a stadium they don't even own. The FAI are a farce of an organisation
  4. I think you're making the mistake of conflating big name/well known players on a team sheet with actual quality of the team itself. Player for player the Croats aren't as good as the the teams you've listed, yet I'd fancy them to be well able to beat most of them on their day.
  5. Yup all about that Austria Sweden game alright. Can't see the BIG fluking it for a second campaign in a row with fortunate results elsewhere always going our way.
  6. And he has genuine potential. The influx of foreign players particularly over the last 4/5 years has removed the white and red coloured spectacles somewhat. Not just from the noses of the press but the fans alike. Once upon a time we had Arsenal and their merry foreign legion. Now they're all at it. A frequent lament here in Ireland is how few of our players play for the top teams in England these days, I'd presume that its the same for Scotland & Wales. But looking at England 2/3 years down the line and the last of England's current 30 somethings retire. How many up and coming English players will be first team regulars in the future at the like's of Chelsea or Man City or other CL aspirant teams? Not many by the looks of it.
  7. Ireland might not come across as the sharpest tool in the box, but he can't be that stupid can he?
  8. Still? Unfortunately, PES hasn't been better on Gameplay since PES5. Once it moved to 360/PS3 it got shit. Imo of course FIFA has upped its game in recent times - from a low, very low, starting point - but it still has all the old FIFA characteristics of too many sweet spots to score, too easy to pull off flicks and tricks and the gameplay still having that general feel of it being on rails. It does pwn PES with its razzmatazz and presentation, as well as the all sexy gameplay modes and official licenses which blow PES' features out of the water. PES is still the daddy when it come's to pure arcade gameplay, to be a good player requires zen like skill and concentration, truly only god's chosen children can master the PES.
  9. Whatever Konami do, I reckon they will lose out sale's wise to EA. PES is still the king when it comes to gameplay, but the lack of official licenses and shiny bells & whistle's which FIFA has means PES lost the casual crowd this generation. Can't see it changing now for them. #ISSTILIDIE
  10. Been happening to me all day
  11. Ah Waherfurd, Unlike the friendly banter we'd have with the rest of our Munster neighbours, they take hating the PROC rather seriously there! Oof controversial BOF
  12. there is a section of dublin that have american accents ...wtf is that abooooot aye You get that in the south as well, think it's a middle class yoof thing. I blame MTV
  13. Speaking of Cork (LOL at the durty Duuuuublin types having a go our sweet, lilt of the gods accent) there was a guy who lived around the corner from me who had a White Hart Lane name plate on his hovel. Kinda cringy tbh when you saw it.
  14. Wanyame looked decent for Celtic in the Champions League alright, don't think he's a £10m pound player yet though.
  15. I'd have been very surprised if England had managed to get a point, nevermind qualify out of, Ireland's group in Euro 2012. England have a bigger player pool then Ireland, but both teams, along with the other FIFA nations in the Britain & Ireland, are streets behind the technical ability which even the smaller Euro nations like Croatia possess. The difference between England and Ireland is bigger than the difference between England and Spain. and before you no doubt bring up a meaningless friendly result, remember that England have beaten Spain, Italy and Brazil in the past 18 months, so it realy don't mean much. Of course friendlies mean sfa, Ireland have beaten the Italians and drawn with the Croat's, but when it come's to the nitty gritty their quality shine's through when it matters.
  16. Corcaigh i wish i had a fiver for every time someone has suggested to me to move out and please i mean no offence at all about that. All of my friends have suggested it and all of my family have nearly demanded it due to the ill health i have suffered as a consequence. I have considered it and i could just rent my property through the DHSS (Social Security) to another problematic family just to be vindictive and then use the rental revenue from my property to rent elsewhere. This is exactly what the Housing Executive hope that i will do so that the thorn in their side will be gone. However, i have worked dam hard with my business to be mortgage free and have spent quite a bit of money getting my home the way i want it. I do not therefore see any reason why i should move out of my home for someone who is only renting next door to me. All the tenant has to do is to request a transfer, or, since i've proven by audio that the tenant is problematic, the landlord (Housing Executive) must adhere to their own regulations on anti social behaviour and either provide alternative accommodation for the tenant or simply evict. How long was it before your family member decided to move out? No worries Morpheus, obviously being an owner-occupier you'll have a stronger attachment to your place then a renter like my family member would have had to theirs. They stuck it for nearly a year before they gave up and moved out as I recall it, they had young kids and were in their place for several years and were well settled in the area with schools & place's of employment close by. Don't know how things panned out in the estate in question after that, I presume eventually the travelling scum were moved on and became somewhere else's problem.
  17. My sympathies Morpheus, A family member of mine had similar difficulty in their estate when Tinker scum moved in complete with trademark anti-social behaviour and horses. Like you they tried to use official means to sort it out, police, landlord, local politicians, council etc. but they just moved out instead, don't know if you have that luxury.
  18. Just came on in the 65th minute against a 10 man Georgia team, I can confirm it looks like he has in fact been able to play football for the last 6 months. Clearly there's a conspiracy involving himself and Lambert

  20. Premier League should copy the NFL model of blocking game's from being broadcast inside a specific area if the tickets aren't sold out but are freely available elsewhere for a price. Currently I can only get over to VP a couple of time's a season and rely on streams of dubious legality and quality for the rest of the teams fixtures. I'd gladly pay a small fortune for a Villa online season ticket.
  21. He wasn't fit for the majority of the season, if he were he'd have been in Ireland squads as he is Trap's first name on the team sheet and captain.
  22. The girl is a young one who sounds like the last thing she wants is a proper, boring relationship. Forget about that Yillan, try and engineer a **** buddy situation with her instead, you can have a good time and no game playing with her while you try and find a nice girl elsewhere to to become a couple with.
  23. No conspiracy CI, seeing as Trap & Tardelli have said he'll probably come on in the second half. Clearly he's still only making baby steps back to match fitness. Ireland XI v Georgia: Keiran Westwood; Paul McShane, Richard Keogh, Damien Delaney, Marc Wilson; Andy Keogh, Wes Hoolahan, James McCarthy, James McClean; Simon Cox, Shane Long (capt)
