    I don't think there's that much in it. Klose has scored against Argentina (in two different tournaments), England, Ghana, Cameroon & Ireland. Ronaldo has scored against Germany, Netherlands, Turkey, Chile, Ghana & Belgium.

    Not Villa's darkest hour just yet but I think we may be on the cusp of it. The team has been circling the drain for a few years now in the Premier League, the luck in having at least 3 worse teams every season has to run out at some point.

    So I posed a teaser to my Glaswegian neighbour and his mates, all Celtic FC supporters and pro-Scots independence. Would they like an independent Scotland, or the status quo to remain but with the Old Firm teams moved into the Premier League. To a man, they wanted their team in the Premier League ahead of Scots independence. Perhaps this could be a strategy for the Better Campaign to utilise to capture the all-important Glasgow vote?

    RTE punditry gold already with Eamon Dunphy promising to wear a skirt on TV if England make it to the QF.

    I think the Sony conference shaded MS's effort, not by a huge amount but enough to maintain Sony's lead over Microsoft this generation in console sales. They had a few promising titles amongst all the remake's and franchises. Bring back Dreamcast-era SEGA! We all know if they were still knocking around today (Rather then the zombie pachinko company they are now) at E3 they'd be showing plenty of brilliant GAMES, as opposed to CGI nonsense.

    That's a pretty pants conference by MS, nothing shown which gets the juices flowing bar perhaps some of the Indie stuff which will probably be on Steam/PS4 anyway along with the rest of the 3rd party stuff. Will Halo 5 really be the killer app to get people buying X1?

    Let me preempt TRS-T by saying how outrageous it is that RTE have selected lads who have NO connection whatsoever with Ireland on their panel, do RTE have any pride?

    What's wrong with this buddy of yours? why's he such a wet blanket? Surely Family & Friends have sat him down and laid it out to him?

    On the one hand I'd love to see a subscription model where you pay x amount for a 'season ticket' to all your club's games. On the otherhand, that model would massively advantage the top 3/4 clubs and leave everyone else behind. Best keep it as is and let us watch every Villa game for free on dodgy streams (bar early rounds of the league & FA cup)

    Meanwhile, in Belfast, UKIP's fellow travellers on the British Far-Right have managed to finally hound Anna Lo MLA out of office and out of the North full stop. Quite the result for them. Incidentally, congrats to UKIP on winning seats in the local elections in the north,a council chamber with UKIP sitting alongside Sinn Fein sounds like a sitcom.

    Personnel wise, probably not. the 1980s/early 1990s Ireland were the greatest. Though the 2001/02 vintage ran them close with their results.
