  1. not his fault they were drawn in the same group as Roy Keane "now Roy Keane, you can always depend on him...."
  2. Mate of mine was in Marseille during the 1998 WC on a family holiday. His abiding memory was being chased by a bunch of Ingerlund knuckle draggers once they clocked his paddy accent.
  3. Still convinced Ireland would have made it to at least the 2002 WC Semi Final if Keano had stayed.
  4. I think my fav Snodaigh story isn't the Printer Ink story, but how a bunch of lads were intercepted in a van wearing balaclavas & with weapons, and bwith a load of Snodaigh Election Posters in the back.
  5. They are only liked by morons. Sinn Féin are the BNP of Irish politics. yet they are slowly getting more support . the representatives for Dublin are hopeless and vile Disagree strongly, Mary Lou McDonald has proven to be a capable and effective politician. Not so much Aengus O' Snodaigh. Wouldn't be surprised if she's secretly delighted with this news. (Villa89 sounds like a Sindo reader/columnist)
  6. They are a bit like marmite, Adams is a TD & Marty polled well in the Presidential Election. It appears some folk in the UK appear to have taken a shine to 'em...
  7. Champions of Europe is smalltime? Its not like we're putting a star on for winning the intertoto. Is there any other club who've won the EC that have incorporated a star representing the fact into their crest? Nah, you're right... Small time But those stars are for domestic championships won and, most importantly, aren't incorporated into the crest themselves like the star is within the Villa one.
  8. From some googling it appears that the only previous EC/CL winners who have a star incorporated into their crest is Marseille, and even then they don't have the star within the crest, but above it.
  9. Champions of Europe is smalltime? Its not like we're putting a star on for winning the intertoto. Is there any other club who've won the EC that have incorporated a star representing the fact into their crest? Like I say, when Villa qualify for the CL, put a star above the crest like other clubs do to remind the world Villa have been champions of Europe. But I don't think having it as part of the crest design itself is the way forward.
  10. Drop the star altogether! it's small time to incorporate it on the crest. When Villa make it into the CL perhaps they can put a star above the crest then.
  11. Villa have been circling the drain now for a few years and got away with it, we can't keep lucking out.
  12. Watched the first series of True Detective over the weekend, fantastic show! Real Twin Peaks vibe off it.
  13. I'm up for it if its happening
  14. MON promising some sexy attacking football for tonight's friendly VS Srbija, means a tight 0-0 draw methinks.
  15. Interesting article and maps on RFERL talking about the whole ' Southern & Eastern Ukraine is Russian' soundbite that's being mentioned over the past few days showing how its a bit more complex. Here's the region on the border where pro-Russian Kharkiv is in.
  16. Hard to call Ireland's group beyond Germany as group winners. On their day Scotland & Georgia are capable of getting decent results against the big boys, but equally capable of making a fool of themselves. Ireland have played Poland a couple of times in the past few years and they've looked very ordinary despite their Dortmund contingent. All in all I'm happy enough with the draw, think we've got a good chance at qualifying automatically.
