  1. So much wrong with our club. If we want to improve and squad, Snodgrass would be a step in the right direction. As would Redmond.
  2. It's kind of inevitable, at some point the pressure will mount on Lambert, and the team will be performing poorly. Lambert will be relieved of his duties as he'll have around 6 months left on his contract. Then Keane will step up.
  3. Seville update this evening on BBC, honestly nothing in it was a surprise. Edwina Currie makes herself look a right clearing in the woods though.
  4. Embarrassed to say my local council is now UKIP. I'm living amongst **** idiots. I personally see UKIP as a slightly legitimized BNP. You see the same people on facebook who'd champion them, now doing so with UKIP. It sickens me that the media continually give UKIP a mouthpiece regarding immigration and Europe and fail to air any other policies which will affect our day to day living. Harder questions need to be asked.
  5. Vlaar to United. You heard it hear first.
  6. If he was only interested in self preservation, why not quit and blame the sale of the club. He would get another job. Or why not quit and claim constructive dismissal, ala O'Neill. I don't really see how him sticking at it, in the knowledge the club could be sold and he could be out of a job as being the better option for him for self preservation let alone the prospect of limping through a season if a takeover doesn't happen. No guarantee of getting a premiership job and surely its easier getting a pay off from new owners than trying to take the club to court. His reputation IMO has taken a hit over the last season, he'd certainly struggle to get another top level job in the current climate. It's a blessing for him that we're in such dire straights, he can turn around now and look at the conditions I had to work under.
  7. A lot of people suggesting that Lambert has the interests of the club at his heart. I'm not convinced. It's all about damage limitation after last year. If anything a season under so many constraints may actually improve his rep again. I'm not convinced his actions from now are anything more than self preservation.
  8. Great post, my only problem is that his position is already untenable. He's lost his right-hand men, had a coaching team foisted upon him, and now seemingly told which players he can and can't keep. IMO we'd be better off letting Cowans take charge and let him blood some youngsters instead of allowing Lambert more money to spend on his already unbalanced squad.
  9. Honestly least we should be doing is keeping lads like Marc, all day long he we try his hardest. While some days he'll look like he's out of his depth. But when his confidence is up and he's flying he can really be a threat. He gave the golden boy Luke Shaw a right test recently so I'm sure that will bring some interest. I for one hope he stays.
  10. Hardly the most reliable but rumours on twitter seem to be saying Herdo is gonna retire. Terrible news if that's the case.
  11. Any idea if they'd be potentially good owners? Not asking if you know who they are as understandably you couldn't even tell. The buyer owns another American team. They haven't been too successful results wise but they're run well Run well! I would take that in a heart beat. My worry is that an octogenarian billionaire takes over and pop his clogs, if the family don't share the same interest then we'll be sold off or in limbo again.
  12. Sorry guys it's all speculation and BS. No takeover seems imminent, so I think it's gonna get a whole lot worse before it gets better. No wonder Weimanns on the beers. Best option for us all.
  13. Well Paul, I hope you enjoy your final game in charge, you may be the only one associated with the club who does. I'm expecting a rather meek collapse and a forgettable day for us all.
  14. I think we already seriously consider him to be an enormous bellend. Very witty, but there's a great deal of sense behind what VillaGoMarching said. If you take a step back from banter and tabloid insults, what you're left with is a manager who was tremendously successful as Fergie's assisstant, overachieved repeatedly with Middlesborough, getting them to the later stages of European competition and a couple of top 10 finishes when their budget would've suggested that was impossible. Then he failed as England manager, a job every person who has attempted has failed at it in my lifetime, before winning the Dutch league out of nowhere with a distinctly average team. What does all of that suggest to you? He's good at managing teams on a budget, ie us. He learns from his mistakes. He's improved his philosophy, and vastly increased his continental knowledge (one of Lambert's good points). One of these days another Prem team is going to realise that there's a good manager here, tarnished by one high profile failure. At the time I very much preferred Lambert over Mclaren, Lambert was on an upward curve in his career and his stock was high. While Mclaren had plateau'd shall we say. Mclaren wouldn't have been given the season and half of backing which Lambert got, can you imagine our fans if Mclaren had overseen that 9-0 at Chelsea. Guiding Derby to the playoffs is a great achievement, most Derby fans ambition under Clough was just to stay clear of a relegation battle, and with arguably the same bunch he's had them climbing the league. Interesting that he's got a 60 percent win ratio for his first season in charge. Some record IMO.
  15. Whether a takeover happens or not, we should seriously consider Steve mclaren.
  16. Whaha, I always thought it was Faulkner making those tweets. I'm refusing to believe there's anything significant with them though.
  17. Two things I can't forgive, the inability to come with an answer to our woeful home form. And secondly the business with his assistants. How can he have allowed something to fester within the club on his watch. For what it's worth though, I feel like he's talking like he knows his fate. Lambert's tone has changed significantly since Lerner's public statement.
  18. I think the job is a poisoned chalice tbh, lambert will struggle to get a top level job and in all honesty we'll need to look abroad (middle to relegation level) or to the 2nd tier of England to find a replacement for him. Lambert can't continue with us regardless.
  19. Replace Lambert would be the first step. Personally I feel if Lambert had bought that attacking midfielder in January, the season could have played out a lot differently. The signing of holt if anything damped enthusiasm, and the persistent negative tactics by Lambert hasn't helped his cause. I think on a good day we don't have a bad spine of the team, Guzan, Vlaar, Delph, Westwood and Benteke. Where Lambert has constantly let himself down is failure to get basics right, defensive shape is awful and seemingly doesn't spend anytime working on this. Then we have the situation with his coaches, I saw this week in an article the dispute reportedly started in December, How could he allow the situation to fester.
  20. Hardly something to be proud of, relegated and struggling to get in they're team.
  21. That's the problem. Something deeply wrong within the club.
  22. Nah. While it's obviously lovely to see you following me around again, care to explain why the 'nah'? Despite the hopes, this signing did not work. He's been poor on the pitch and perhaps the efforts could have gone into signing the central defender we did need. It was his 'heskey' signing. MON signed Heskey and we all started to question him, where as Lambert signed Holt despite having a fully fit Benteke and Helenius available. The fact that Lambert has barely used Holt says it all. If he thought he could still do it at this level he'd have started more games.
  23. Given how Lambert has got our lads performing currently, I'd sack him immediately and appoint someone from our past. Just to tie us over till summer. Christ Big Ron or Brian Little couldn't do any worse and they've been out the game for 10 years.
  24. I haven't heard anything about players reacting but the away fans made it known how they felt after the players tried to applaud the fans.
  25. Must be immensely frustrating playing in this team. A lot of players have lost motivation and have little pride for themselves or the club. Regardless of how people feel about Lambert some individuals are capable of a lot more.
