  1. The papers clearly just pulling up old articles. There's more chance of Jennifer Ellison taking over
  2. I get what you're saying but I just don't see any strong candidates out there who have a connection with the club. In an ideal world there would be
  3. Having a genuine affection for the club and a connection does not bring results. If that was the case Dalglish with Liverpool, Shearer with Newcastle etc etc would have done a lot better. I couldn't care less whether the new manager is a Blues legend as long as he gets results. That being said I hope it's not a Blues legend Moyes is the best candidate by a mile
  4. I'd be happy with Mick McCarthy. What we want is a quick route out of the Championship and he's proven that he can get the best out of average sides. The job he has done at Ipswich is incredible considering he's spent next to nothing and had to sell players like Mings, yet still has them in the top ten. I think he'd be ideal for our young players too, in particular Grealish. I'm thinking of how well young players like Kightly and Jarvis progressed under his management and also the likes of Duff and Keane at international level.
  5. I'd recall Bennett. Yes he's not great but I'd have a lot more faith in him than Richardson
  6. I think he has gone beyond a loan. It would be a backward step for him. He needs to remain with the first team, and needs coaching by our own staff. Yes I think time out of the first team is best for him now until he starts pulling his weight a bit more
  7. Yesterday's game was the first time all season I thought the first 11 had what resembled a bit of shape to it. I'd stick with that 11 for now until things need to be changed. Traore and Grealish don't yet possess the discipline required to play in such a system IMO. In saying that time is definitely on their side and I could certainly see Traore having a big impact from the bench.
  8. Agree with most on here that he needs a few weeks at least out of the team. He has offered nothing at all this season apart from the first half v Leicester. It's not good for the lad's development if he's getting in the team every week regardless of form. The hype around the whole international choice he had to make was not warranted given that he's proven nothing at all so far. Carles Gil definitely the better option at the moment and with a bit of luck being dropped will give Jack the kick up the backside he so obviously needs .

    New manager

I was in Paris at the game and, while it took me a while to get over it's long since forgotten about. I actually think there'd be joyous celebrations across the country as people would be free from his nonsense on Sky every weekend.

    New manager

Getting to shout AWOOGAH on the Holte End makes this sound appealing. It's got to be Moyes though realistically.
  11. Tonev and N'Zogbia are waving at you. Can you not see them? Tonev Tonev and N'Zogbia are waving at you. Can you not see them? They don't have a patch on this fella. Hands down the worst Villa player ever. No potential at all. Shocking signing
  12. Hands down the worst Villa player ever. No potential at all. Shocking signing
  13. Mats Hummels... Don't get me wrong he's not the worst defender ever but the way the media hype him up is insane. Average at best in my opinion. Constantly caught out for pace and his positional awareness is very questionable
  14. I go to all Ireland home and away games and have done for years now and all I can say is if he chooses England best of luck to the lad. Having dual nationality is no doubt a really tricky scenario for any lad of 19 and he was dead right to bide his time and make the choice he feels is the right one. So many journos and Ireland/England fans criticising him for not deciding sooner but not one of them have had the same dilemma. Sure we got Clark for Ireland after he had captained the England under 20s. Swings and roundabouts. All the best Jack... UTV
  15. The lack of new songs over past 2/3 years has been shocking. My suggestion for Veretout is keep it simple and use the Salifou/Daddy Cool chant. As for other players I'd love to see some original chants. I'm just not witty enough to come up with them
  16. Not defending Lambert by any means but some of those players should hang their heads in shame. Benteke, Gabby to name but two have hardly tried a leg the past two months and that hasn't been down to bad management. Far too easy to put all the blame on Lambert.
  17. Start him. He's ready. The lad is almost 19 give him a go and I'm confident he'll be a surprise package in the league this year. That said, it'll be difficult to keep him if we struggle again.
  18. Lets be honest that includes every single one of our players!
  19. I absolutely despised Keane in 2002 but time moves on and I think he has matured a lot as a man since. Hopefully he gives a few players a kick up the backside although the impact of an assistant manager is hardly going to be season changing
  20. Couldn't agree more. O'Neill has a history of not giving too many young players a chance. Players like Cox, Sammon, Whelan, Green are not there on merit and this summer would be the ideal time to give young lads a game. Not too optimistic having just renewed my season ticket
  21. I agree Darren. I don't think he's the root of all our problems. In fact I cannot imagine any manager doing any better in the circumstances. We need changes at the club financially which will hopefully come this summer and I for one would like to see lambert given a season without financial constraints as I think sacking him now after him keeping us safe with a championship team two seasons in a row would be a bit harsh. I know some people will point out that he signed lower league players etc but with the wage structure as it is that's about all he could do. You don't think any other manager would do better than 18 defeats in a season and who built that championship team? No personally I don't. With that wage structure in place I think he's done about as well as he could without pulling up trees
