  1. another thing to mention if we push Watkins out wide is that he will have a much harder time in getting into the England squad there vs at striker which might also play into his mind.
  2. yep, he almost scored an equalizer but their keeper made a great save.
  3. not the english midfielder I'd want from spurs, I'd be asking about Oliver Skipp
  4. yeah i find it a little weird that he's the most confident 'transfer journo' on that and all of the 'itk' Arsenal ones say nothing is close
  5. Yaremchuk looks a pretty tidy player
  6. honestly, it depends on if it really impacts who else we can buy... rather allocate it to a CDM or a Smith-Rowe/Álvarez type player to replace Barkley. Would love to see if a loan w/option is okay as well
  7. think ESPN has done quite well with the coverage of the Euros over here stateside.
  8. I know he is not really realistic, but I definitely wouldn't be opposed to seeing us sign him. Probably off to Roma thou
  9. I don't disagree with what you're saying, I just believe that spending 40 million on Tammy would not be the best allocation of funds for us.
  10. agreed 100%, I just don't think spending upwards of 40m on Tammy is the best use of resources and money for us right now(and I believe you do)..... I would be pretty happy if we got him for a loan/option to buy though
  11. I don't think 40m is a unreasonable valuation (though if he doesn't move this summer, it will drastically fall because he won't get much playing time if any at all), but there've been many posts saying that we should be spending that when we already have Watkins which to me doesn't make sense
  12. yeah I'm still not sure what we're doing in terms of bidding for him -- especially at 25 & then 30 mil when they would likely want way more. At first I thought it was agent posturing but there's too much smoke for there not to be fire in this one/
  13. That is insane and i hope they find who was responsible
  14. if we didn't have Ollie, I don't think many of us would have as big concerns with buying Tammy for that. But we already have him, and he played in 37/38 games for us last year. I just don't see the need to spend that amount of money on a backup striker (when we've played with mostly 1 up top) while we have FFP enacted.
  15. don't see why either of those are necessary requirements for us as a backup. Bamford had 1 career PL goal before this past season, Watkins hadn't played in the PL. both ended up with double figures
  16. Tammy would be great if we get him on loan w/option to purchase. Gives him a year with us to figure out if he works in our current squad and would be a good signing. In the era of FFP though, I just think spending 40m on a position where the player we are buying is not a clear upgrade (and is arguably a downgrade) just makes no sense to me. I would actually lose a little bit of faith in the transfer team if Tammy @ 40m is the best value striker we can find (because there sure are many others out there that wouldn't come close to that price tag).
  17. was thinking it might be because Jesse Marsch is going to be at Leipzig. who knows though.
  18. yeah i mentioned it a while back but that is completely for clicks I think Close to reaching an agreement --> No fee agreed between the clubs --> clubs haven't even had formal talks. Well yes, then it's obvious that an agreement is close
  19. yeah combining CONCACAF & CONMEBOL would be ideal, but will never happen because it's not in the best interests of a majority of the countries in either organization. Would Argentina/Brazil care? Probably not because they'd still qualify, but Mexico/US/Canada/Jamaica/Costa Rica/ Columbia/Uruguay/Chile/Peru would all have a much harder qualifying for tournaments as they would have to play each other and less slots would be open. Also probably more important: less money for everyone involved
  20. really like the journalism from espn here. Manchester City close to £100m British record move for Jack Grealish - sources (espn.com) Manchester City close to £100m British record move for Jack Grealish - sources (espn.com)
  21. Surprised there’s not more mention of Kabak. Would fit as a young player with potential and price apparently slashed in half
