  1. yeah probably. Happened in 2016 as well..... there was always going to be only 1 Republican candidate in '24.
  2. I don't like this move. Seems extremely sensible and they haven't done something like that in a while.
  3. Ron is out, and endorses Trump on his way out.
  4. signed a contract extension right before January.
  5. Think this article pretty well explains the situation both sides are facing. Many Americans in Disbelief Over Trump-Biden Election Rematch - The New York Times (nytimes.com)
  6. Oh, I completely believe that things are going to get worse no matter who gets elected. The increased polarization and politicization of the country is still rapidly happening. I think his mental state has rapidly deteriorated. It is painful sitting through listening to him talk. I have family members who have dementia (it runs in my family) and it looks to me like Biden has some form of dementia. yup. I moved to where I currently live in '21. Trump won this state by 20+ points in the '20 election. If I lived in a state where it will be closer, I probably would bite my lip and vote Biden. Biden taking ill would definitely be the best outcome, but I don't see him stepping aside unless something like that happens. In terms of all the things you mention with the jobs, I completely agree with you that it is important. But in the rust belt, people have been hemorrhaging jobs, money, and their future/careers. I know several people in Pennsylvania who hate Biden / Democrats because we aren't using our own resources for energy (Coal).
  7. In European terms yes, completely not in America Few reasons. 1. I don't think Biden is fit to hold office, so I cannot, in good conscience, vote for someone who I think is incompetent. (I also personally believe he has dementia, but that's a different story) 2. Deals with 1, I just don't see how Biden can finish another 4-year term without some sort of major health scare / issue 3. Also deals with 1, I don't trust Biden to make the right decision (or one at all) if there was a major issue (e.g. Iran, China) 4. I live in a state that is already going to massively swing one way, so I know that my vote will not really matter. 5. The damage has already been done -- not even institutionally, but just social media has completely deepened the divide. 6. I won't vote for Trump either, he's just as unfit to hold office as Biden imo.
  8. love that podcast. it is quite informative and goes well. Learned about him in my economics courses. Very interesting man and one of the main men behind classical liberalism.
  9. the issue of labeling things genocide vs ethnic cleansing will lead to a large box of events being opened to the claims of genocide & ethnic cleansing.
  10. Yup, this is the thing. Biden has become wildly unpopular with folks under the age of 35 because he is very central and the demographics have shifted way to the left. I'd say this is most likely. I am in this demographic and will probably not vote for either Trump or Biden.
  11. would be a good addition imo. Very good talent, still only 21 and provides a lot of versatility (on the wing or as support for a striker). Would also be a good thing for marketing purposes esp with the next World Cup coming up in the states. Only downside is that he has been injury prone
  12. Biden's age (unfit for office), Biden being corrupt (Hunter and that whole thing), Jan 6 being a false flag event (the deep state/FBI/CIA is behind it), financial state (interest rates, people not being better off than they were before Biden), Russia/Ukraine & the situation in the middle east, the border & immigration, the "system" is rigged against him / republicans.
  13. Decided on a Reading save. The squad feels completely unbalanced (and based on what is going on there, understandable). Did tweak some of the players and potentials (as I usually do)
  14. Per Ornstein, they are expecting to be found in breach of FFP for another 3 year cycle. Another deduction incoming?
  15. The type of signing that Brighton are the masters of.
  16. they just said that at Old Trafford, it's been almost 40 years
  17. we missed him today. Always has shown up v Everton
  18. the yellow for Tarkowski was also pathetic. (NB: i'm not saying the challenge was, because I think that's a foul. But Coote didn't call a foul and Tarkowski wasn't really involved in the melee afterwards) He definitely deserved at least a yellow for some of the challenges throughout the game
  19. Only player who offered anything going forward today.
  20. I know he's been out, but Buendia had scored in his last 3 everton matches
  21. as @The_Steveposted in another thread, the situation with Reading is extremely dire. Today, fans stormed the pitch and caused the match to be abandoned. They were in a similar situation to us when we had Xia, but they haven't been able to get sold. I think I read somewhere that this owner, Dai, was rejected by the PL due diligence before taking over reading.
