  1. I don't think he would be easy to replace, at all. My point is that hypothetically replacing Ollie Watkins or Douglas Luiz (and what either of them bring to the team) will be a lot harder than replace than John McGinn. *this is not me saying that I want to sell McGinn at all Getting the CL revenue is a game changer, but if we don't I don't know exactly what we do. From that group of players, we probably only get money back for Dendonker and maybe Sanson and Chambers. But then, if we get rid of all those, we need to build a squad and we get a higher quality one by signing new starters that push current ones down. hypothetically, if we sell McGinn this summer i'd expect. a) 50-60m b) I'm sure Emery + Monchi could come up with options. Some off the top of my head- -- Pino, Almada, Moleiro, Veiga, Reyna etc. They all have different qualities but can play that attacking wide midfield role. C) No clue what they would cost If we were to make it, then they do have a more stringent FFP we would have to comply with. Cannot like this post enough. We probably have too many players for that advanced wide attacking midfield role (especially if the Zaniolo move becomes permanent). I think Bailey is probably going to be sold in the summer and that will be the first team player who gets shifted (and maybe Cash but that's another story).
  2. Unless we get Champions League in the summer, I'm under the assumption that we wouldn't have the FFP headroom to spend big on another 3 top players without selling a first team regular.
  3. so, we keep McGinn for his performances over the year but then could sacrifice Luiz or Watkins who have had better overall performances than him over the year. I'd also argue that replacing McGinn would be far easier than Watkins or Luiz for the roles they play in the system. I don't see that at all tbh
  4. How do you not give a pen there and also not call a dive? Atrocious officiating.
  5. I'll be honest, I think that would be more destabilizing than not signing anyone. What positions do we even go after? If a say Nico Williams becomes available, then yeah that would be great. But adding 5 players would be overloading the squad -- and if we hypothetically do get CL, how many of them will be at the level we need? Where would all our money be?
  6. Bournemouth are showing a lot more since their schedule "softened" up
  7. it was called a foul on the pitch, is it a "clear and obvious" error? It's not a foul for me. but I don't think it's clearly an obvious error
  8. if Ramsey is vying for a spot, then I'd have to say McGinn is as well -- but I think a lot depends on the opposition.
  9. TBH, one of the things I usually do before starting a save is tweaking some of the PA of a plethora of youth players as I rarely see any actual (real-life) players go on to be actual superstars in the game.
  10. The 777 group is just as dodgy, if not more than their current owners.
  11. I remember he blamed Buendía for celebrating in front of the Everton fans last year for Digne getting hit with a bottle. Also, currently gets paired with Dixon for us in the states on NBC and you can clearly tell that there is a disconnect/dislike between the pair of them.
  12. I understand it, the board wanted to change the style they play and Iraola was the man they wanted to do that. Everything I've seen makes it out to be a long-term project and O'Neil didn't have the same philosophy.
  13. any penalty overturn is a dropped ball to the keeper.
  14. McGinn waited too long to release that, Diaby and Watkins were both off when he passed
  15. us (Villa) City West Ham Newcastle Forest are their next 5 fixtures. I can see dropped points there
