Great result and it already looks like.emery has had an input and the players have listened.and executed it well. Especially like.his Press conference at the end....good points....and things to work on. We have the players to attack and create when confident. For me...emery will work on our defensive shape better. We still drop too deep.under pressure shaws goal a perfect example 7 players in the box to their 4....our back line on the 6 yard box....defend the 18 midfield pick up the bits that come out....in this case where Shaw was. But...its a good start....a big 3 points...on to the next one Utv

I get what you are saying....and as much as I comment on the lack of quality I would like to see what emery can do with the squad. However, the problem is a lot of the players have been here a while now and through two.managers now and have we seen any improvement....no we haven't. Will emery get mings to stop hoofing it....olllie wakins to find the net...trap a ball....cash to be good at defending....mcginn to be a good centre mid.....these are just examples....I.hope so....but can't see it...yes they will have good games....but we are where we are down to the recruitment. Yes...get someone from the championship...lower leagues of Europe...but not a squad....you just end up with players learning on the job with each other rather than learning from good players already at the club

Sorry.....as a scout myself for a Premiership club.....the blame should solely be on Lange....he is the one who signs off on new players correct...but the scouts are directed by him.....its not as simple as watching games and coming back saying I've found the next best thing.....scouts are directed as to what the powers above want....if Lange wants a 6ft midfielder who can play with is left foot...then the scouts will go out and find one. The recruitment over the past three years has been shocking....mediocre players for way too much money...some of which will be here for a while as no other team will taken them...maybe one or two. Gerrard made mistakes...granted.....he got the sack but so should Lange giving him a duff squad to work with only a handful of good enough players.

Been saying this for years....purslow and lange have basically been playing moneyball but with bigger cheques. The fees paid for bang average players in the hope that they all become good is why we are where we are...season after season. You then add in a rookie manager and its a recipe for disaster. The recruitment is to blame mostly...Gerrard has made mistakes but the squad as a whole is so disjointed it was never going to work. Plus now they have left it this late....we may have got Potter in??? They both need to go

As much as Gerrard has made mistakes in his tactics and selection...he can't be blamed for players who simply can't do the basics. Watkins...touch is throw in...even his shots were a throw in today. Mings...always has a mistake in him more than.making the odd one. Luiz...onlynwantsntje ball when he is between konsa and mings Mcginn....huffs and puffs but again..lacks that real quality. These are just a sample of that...there are more It's a combination of both a manager who's not good enough and players not good enough. Recipe for a disaster and we are unfortunately following it step by step.

We have been playing a three in midfield this season and previous and getting the same outcome.....we get stretched all over the park. One pass from the Oppo back line and that leaves three players out of the game already....add to the fact most teams play 5 in the middle we now looking at a 5 on three in the middle....our wings get battered every game leaving one of luiz or Ramsay being dragged out to sort it out. Need a 5 to balance the midfield and provide any sort of attack. That line up...and mainly the shape is just asking teams on to us

If the board are looking at getting them out then as much as yesterday is a point....i would still be looking at the results of Leicester and Southampton. Yesterday we got a point we didnt expect and a bonus.....the next two games I would be looking at min 4 points otherwise....we will keep going round....a win here...a point here....it maybe too late then.

Mings is definitely a grafting CB...block tackles.....body on the line.....and a voice in the backline. However, as I said in the match thread....he still needs to be more composed with the ball....did his usual thing....on the halfway line....hoof in to the stratosphere when he could have controlled the ball....then got mugged off from the 20ft bounce of it....then gave the foul away on the edge of the box....which on another day KDB could have scored from the free kick...saved by the bar. Take these silly parts out and there is a quality defender....who could be knocking on Gareths door.

If losing Luiz for £20 odd mil and bringing in Dendoncker and Bednarek is the answer to our problems then WTF is the question being asked. Such high hopes this season but literally within 5 days.......shot to pieces with two bad performances and the players coming in. I hope it works BUT.......what is going on at the club.
