If we stay up then Marco Rose, Jesse Marsch and perhaps even Poch could well be attainable. If/when we go down the options decrease and am coming around to the idea it may be better to stick and then when in a stronger position look to replace Smith.

Pretty amazing HT team talk ... I reckon if he doesn’t get the Leipzig job he’ll go to someone like Dortmund. Would love to see more of this type of footage and would be great to see a smith team talk (out of interest ... )

I can see Norwich doing us a favour against Watford but then we will No doubt be beaten by UTD ... it’s the hope that kills you!

Would he leave the red bull eco system as no doubt will be lined up to be the next Leipzig boss? Interesting shout and highly rated and a great motivator and tactician.

Purslow would have been acting under instruction somewhat by Hicks & Gillet so wouldn't put put too much weight into bin dippers dislike of him during his period there. Also what instruction was he given by NSWE in terms of recruitment strategy and level of autonomy. if it means the self serving past it Rafa doesn’t end up here then that’s another reason to keep him for me.

Can see him going to Bristol City to replace Johnson ... Not sure how I feel about him TBH and would be more worried about losing Cutler who seems to also be given the chance to have a lot if input.

My anger at our tepid performances Only increased after yesterday’s performance which was the minimum I expect from a villa team. They pressed and attacked with intent for the first time in McGrath knows how long and if we could have put in just 1/2 more performances like that we wouldn’t be in bottom three and destined for the drop. That’s why I blame it more on Smith as it is his job to set them up and put in place a game plan.

My only concern with Purslow is is he ambitious enough in his thinking or will he alway go with the safe option ? Not knowing the parts each plays or to what degree I find it difficult to criticise Purslow and Suso as much as smith as I can see each match day issues with Smith. That’s not to say he is fully at fault but his position is easier to quantify in terms of job emit and therefore easier to criticise. Probs unfair but oh well...

Pre-requisite for a winger is being able to cross the ball.. Maybe AEG would be better Off playing upfront in a weaker league.

It dawned on me today that as we are now destined to be back on Quest TV and there’s a real chance we could need to replace basically our whole squad of midfielders... Do we trust Suso to do that in the championship ?

Can’t fault Smith today at and I’m (currently) in the Smith out camp. That said fair dues today and was heartened by the display... just a shame it’s too late and is out of our hands & we are basically down now sadly.

Maybe he has been carrying an injury and maybe he has fallen out with Smith. Dam shame if true but even though I think Smith should go, regardless you have to back the manager if he has stepped out of line. If he had maintained fitness and form though I very much doubt we would be in the bottom 3.

First 7/8 games thought he looked different class and better than Mings and thought we had bagged a bargain .... 25 games later not sure what has happened and gone wrong with him and hope he can get fit and regain form ASAP. His lack of pace isn’t a huge concern when Mings is alongside him and on form. The speed gun must have been faulty the day his speed was recorded cause something doesn’t add up as he is .1 of a MPH faster than Saint-Maxim FFS apparently

If we haven’t already been on the phone we should be ASAP and id also bid for Joe Gelhardt whilst we are at it. No doubt he will get snapped up by someone else and become the next Rooney or he’ll join us and be the Freddie Sears knowing our luck with highly rated teens

Just need Chelsea to score 5 unanswered goals against wet spam and Toon to put another 2 unanswered goals past Bournemouth then we will be out the relegation zone !

With the sad news for the fans of Wigan going into Administration we should take advantage and bid for Antonee Robinson and young striker Joe Gelhardt whose destined for bigger things.
