  1. We any have already done so stealth style but here’s an idea why don’t we bid £21 million for Daka and offer him the £100k a week we would offer Wilson ? Just a wild thought ...
  2. Not fussed either way about him signing. But I do slightly worry who would be next in line. I just have vibes all over again of O’Neil wasting a golden ticket with Lerner when (sic) looking for a striker and.... Q:Falcao, Cavani. A:Heskey, Harewood. If rumours are true and he favours Toon then the only reason he joins us is ££££ and he’s not worth it IMO at those costs.
  3. I’ll top you and raise you and name 50+ world class players who at the time we’re bought for monster money based on past performances and turned out to be flops. All transfers are gambles. Im jealous they are ahead of us and can spend £36 mill on an 18 yo prospect. But we are on our own path and this summer, isn’t the time for us to be taking that risk, IMO. Hopefully, give it a season or two and we will be.
  4. So called smaller clubs pull off ambitious transfers every year, like every transfer some work out & some fail. It’s all about the £££ which approach to take, the level of ambition, and I guess the project timescale. Maybe after last year it has been decided this summer we need to sign, proven, ready for the English game first team players after too many players signed from all over last summer ( somewhat out of necessity ). IF we survive, than I’d expect S.4.0 of NSWE will be different again in terms of focus once agin and we be in for players of the ilk of Belotti, Daka, Baumgartner & Szoboszlai etc ( Oh and Kelvin Phillips ) and look to raise the quality in one or two key areas with next level talent and build from there.
  5. Ambitious owners, CEO & Top name manager goes a long way. I am grateful to smith and what he has achieved and cannot be too critical of the job he has done... That said I do feel he does lack the nous and draw so we will have to hope that when it comes to it I’m wrong like I usually am, and Wilson is a smoke screen for Paston Daka.
  6. Uninspiring so far but plenty of time. I feel as long as Smith has any say and he head coach our signings will always be somewhat uninspiring (at the outset)That’s not to say they won’t be successful and I’m guilty as hell as being a football snob ... Wolves we’re making more ambitious signings than us in the championship 3 years ago though. Wilson smacks of safety first and shows little ambition
  7. It’s weird because last summer i would have taken C.Wilson for £35mill last summer, yet a year later @ half the price I’m now unsure. On one hand he is in his way down, he is in his prime and Look at last season. Yes, Bournemouth were shite but he was also poor and could have performed better. However, I would feel more confident starting with Wilson upfront rather than Samatta & Davis and for less than £20mill there are riskier & worse deals to be done... It’s almost got to the point I just want players to sign regardless of my personal preference & opinions as they mean jack sH1t.. What will be will be.
  8. Cheeky £40mill bid for Declan Rice as he luvs the villa
  9. Christoph Baumgartner, and Rabbi Matondo sorts the wings out, and fits our model, wage structure. No doubt give a year or two and they will be unobtainable if they continue to develop at the same pace. Get it done Villa !
  10. I somewhat expected with Johan Lange’s appointment we would be linked with players like Christoph Baumgartner ( poor mans Havertz ) young versatile CAM/LW @ Hoffenheim. 7 goals and 4 assists in the Bundesliga last season . Ismail Jacobs is another great young talent @ FC Koln LB/LW https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/who-is-ismail-jakobs-cologne-rookie-of-the-month-achraf-hakimi-9220
  11. If raiding BCFC then I’d be going for Han-Noah Massengo. Elliason only makes sense as a back up signing so maybe Trez or El Ghazi will be leaving perhaps?
  12. I’m guessing because we have allowed smith more input than previously afforded ? It is rather uninspiring but then last summer was so exciting and look how the season planned out ...
  13. Wild guess based on nothing but my imagination. Maybe these are our next targets after being rejected by Rashica and Edouard ?
  14. For £6mill and poss cast off(s) I wouldn’t be overly bothered as I think working with Cutler could do him wonders confidence wise. Matty Cash & Butland for £20mill is good business IMO .
  15. Will Hughes would be acceptable ... N.Chalobah not so acceptable ... The yardstick is - Are you a better player than say Hourihane or Lansbury? Answer Yes ; you may continue. Answer No; and we go no further. Same across the squad. I’m still 5 days away from stressing so no panic. Also, so far, it’s only been reported that Mckennie & Rashica who have turned us down, So Still hope for a spectacular summer. My prediction is 0ne in by Friday, with tw0 in quick succession... Edouard my 1st choice! Followed by 2 from 3 @ Brentford
  16. That’s Smith Vs Ancelotti in a nutshell. We aren’t the draw we think we are ( yet )... Foreign players, if they have a straight choice I reckon more often than not choose to work under Bielsa, Ancelotti than Smith. We just need to be cleverer and remain patient and stick to our plan and we will hopefully get to a position where we are first choice for players.
  17. Patrick Schick has joined Leverkusen ... shame ! Edouard better sign as not excited about spending £30 mill plus on C.Wilson. Also is Matty Cash better than Max Aaron’s ?
  18. Out of contract summer 2021 also ... Denis Zakaria is the unrealistic dream DM.
  19. As Celtic owe 40% to PSG (sell on of profit?) surely offering them a pick of Engels, Elmo, Any surplus GK x3. Lansbury, Jota, Hourihane, Samatta, is as a tempting swop alternative. We could also do what Fulham/Nice reportedly were accursed of doing with Jean Michael-Seri & Maxime Le Marchand and manipulate the fees. So on paper, we pay over odds for Ajer and under on Edouard to avoid them paying as much £££ to PSG whilst still achieving what they wanted financially & screwing PSG over a lil.
  20. Vicious circle ... No one pays for news as much as before. New business is Clickbait as = £££. So the standard of journalism drops. It’s just awful. Headline says one things which is PR BS then the article goes on to say it was actually Edu who persuaded him and not the not the fans.. Oh and they are basing & paraphrasing from an article from the telegraph which is Behind a paywall... Back fo transfers ... How about this chant to WU Tang Clans C.R.E.A.M or as Meth said Cash Ruins Enemies and Marauders ...
  21. Those who have the on social media should Be showing much love towards Edouard & Rashica as the new Arsenal Brazilian CB’s pr company tweeted it was the fans love that swayed him ... https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8673755/amp/Gabriel-Magalhaes-convinced-join-Arsenal-clubs-fans-bombarded-social-media.html It’s also depressing where you end up in desperation searching for transfer news... I think I need to put my phone down and go for a walk .. Its journalism at its worse and a Steaming pile of contradictory - FANS Convince star to sign... Headline EDU convinced star to sign ... Closing paragraph... Anyhow rant over! #announcerashica #announceedouard
  22. I’m bored and in FM mode and been thinking that Karlan Grant @ £10/15mill is a better option To Watkins @ £25mill. The difference of £10/£15mill, that’s another player. With McKennie moving to Juve for £20mill and if we were to switch to Grant that difference could be added for a cheeky £35mill+ for Denis Zakaria... Yeah I’m really that bored...
