  1. Did people not see Newcastle-Palace highlights, Palace ripped Newcastle to shreds with the pace in their frontline. Earlier in the season Montero took the mick out of Janmatt, I think Newcastle back 4 are hopeless against any sort of direct pace. Yes they've won their last two but they've sat a lot deeper and in any case the forward lines of Spurs and Liverpool for all their quality don't have that quick players. I think he should start tomorrow.
  2. New Year isn't it so guess Sunderland away would be first game he's eligible for.

Believe me another year of LVG and they will.
  4. Well Defelou's finally living up to the hype for me although not close to Mahrez's stats. I'd say Everton have better quality over the pitch....Stones, Baines, Coleman, James McCarthy, Barkley, Lukaku are arguably better than what Leicester have in those areas but Leicester are unbelievable as a team and of course have Mahrez and Vardy to win the game for them. Should be a fun game to watch and really should be on the box instead of us or one of the Sunday games.
  5. Could happen actually. For the first time this season they're missing more than one first choice player. Huth suspended so chance for Lukaku to exploit this as don't actually know who Leicester's back up CB is, Upson still there? They've also lost Drinkwater for the xmas period who's a vital cog in the engine room. Everton to win...
  6. Alright I'm just saying before he comes back next season and this forum goes back into meltdown when he keeps on making errors in a lower division. Calum Robinson seems to have disappeared off the earth down there, was that a season long loan or can he come back in January?

Some of the Inter Milan team perhaps? People like Snedjer and Milito didn't reach such heights before or since. They certainly weren't the best team in europe the year they won CL, neither were Porto of course.
  8. They are conceding a lot of goals still with him playing so it's all relative.
  9. Ha I was watching Bristol on the TV the other day and was wondering who the lumbering Donkey centre half was. Camera zooms in....F*** it's Baker!
  10. Millions of pubs close to the stadium although never been on a matchday so no idea which are home fans only and which are shared. Could be worth stopping off in Durham, again plenty of boozers and only 15 minutes out of Newcastle.

No I agree, I got round to like Fergie in the end as he developed into that cuddly old grandad raging at everyone but they're still of the same ilk, siege mentality, getting average players to over perform. O.K if he's to manage again in Premier league the only place I can see him turning up is Man. United if Van Gaal dosen't destroy them first as a credible force.

Just reading McNumpty on the BBC, the one I hadn't considered is..........England. They flop at the Euros or even Woy just decides to retire and I have the feeling the timing would be right this time. He very nearly took it in 2007 it's worth remembering.

Ancelotti going to Munich for next season is pretty much a done deal with Pep leaving I think? Even if he dosen't go there he's the more friendly candidate for all those major clubs to consider given his record.
  14. O.k but at least he has something, a skill, a touch of class, something to offer which you can't say for deadbeats like Sinclair, Lescott, Gabby and Richardson who we need to get shot of. If he's still here next season well he was a class above SHA in the cup when he came on at half time wasn't he, helped us win the game and that's the sort of opposition we'll be facing next season
  15. Don't see a way back for him this time, he's used up all his lives here.
  16. Patience perhaps? There is no doubt in my mind Grealish will be a fantastic premier league player in the future, probably not for us the way this club is going. If people like Steven Davis and Albrighton can have good solid prem careers after leaving us (and there was plenty of similar comments on their threads on here when they were playing for us) then I have no doubt Grealish will. However his attitude atm isn't good enough as he hasn't got it all together as a player yet. It will come though.

I do wonder which elite teams will pick him up. There's talk of him going back to Real Madrid but that's only if Perez stays as president, surely Zidane will be given that job very soon? Barca no chance. Inter Milan, no chance now Mancini's back and doing well. Juventus....Maybe. Man. City-Arsenal, nope. PSG- Maybe but I think managing in the French league would be too boring for him and in any case PSG are making a serious pitch for Ronaldo and him and Mourinho didn't get on so that wouldn't entice Ronnie. And David Luiz who is a very marketable player for them, he'd be off like a shot aswell. Man. United- I've always thought he'd be an ideal fit there tbh, Cut from the same cloth as Fergie in the likeability stakes and I'm sure after the last few years their fans wouldn't quite be turning up their noses at his style of football. Dosen't bring through the youth though. Probably too early for him to take the Portugal national job. I do think his next club will be slightly below what he's managed in terms of expectations and finance so interested to see how he gets on. It seems odd to say this 4 months after signing a new 4 year deal but Abramovich gave him every chance, we know what he's like at sacking managers when they lose two in a row. Chelsea's form is incredibly dire, lost more than half their games, 1 point off bottom 3 in the middle of December and to me it didn't look it was going to turn for them anytime soon.
  18. Ah true. That Messi penalty miss cost me 200 quid so possibly why I've erased that result from my mind. Infact the two games as Aguero also missed a penalty in the return game which cost me a fair bit.
  19. I can never understand why we're so bad at Newcastle yet always win at Sunderland. Even when we were top 6 under MON we were regularly losing to them there. Couple of weeks ago I would've been actually confident of scraping a win but looks like we're playing Newcastle at a bad time. Could see a repeat of Southampton game, 1-1.
  20. Depends how they draw opens up but I have a feeling PSG will make the final this year. They've been improving every year in CL and think adding Di Maria will be a gamechanger for them in the knock out stages.
  21. I think the best way to fit in the team is if we reverted back to playing two number 10s like at the end of last season, say him in place of N'zogbia. Of course the elephant in the room is who plays CF (in fairness the other Elephant is the other 9 players) but yeah he gets marked out of games too easily too wide and we're atricious playing 3 CMs so I don't think him infront of two will improve things much. Either 4-4-1-1 with him or Grealish off a main striker or Adama and one of Gil/Grealish off Ayew until January.
  22. West Ham still signed him from Man. United though. And then after doing little at West Ham a Seria A club like Lazio snapped him up where he's hardly played. Clubs will always take risks on players especially if they're free or being sold at knock down fees.
  23. As much as he's persona non grata at the moment, I think him being sold for something like 5m would be of Cahill type disastrous proportions. We'd all be whinging in a few years time when he's running rings round us playing for Spurs or Liverpool or someone. Young players go through dips. Barry had a really dodgy spell out of the team towards the end of JG's time, even put in a transfer request. I remember pre season when Chelsea were bidding for Stones and I asked Arteta'sGirl about Barkley and she said he was really poor last season and had a lot to prove this season, you really think Everton would've sold him for 5m, now they can start demanding 20m + again.. Grealish however is doing himself no favours off the pitch and needs to sort that out as he certainly has the air of someone who's made it when he still has plenty to prove.
  24. No one gives a f**k about Japan... Only joking, was just trying to be consistent with last page...
